Are Optus 4G/5G Modems Network Locked?

Want to buy a 2nd hand for my Vodafone SIM card

  Would need more info into which Optus modem are you looking at, they usually are locked but I believe if you contact Optus they can unlock it.

      yeah 6 months after sale. my Optus 5g router was never locked btw.

  I would go against that and buy an unlocked OEM 5G dongle instead. Some come with built-in battery.

  You don't need to worry about things being locked and if you ever go travel overseas, it should work also.

  I have had optus 4g modem few years back. they were never locked.

  I have a VividWireless (later Optus) Huawei 4G router which is not locked, I have used all sorts of sims on that.

  b818 4g modem should be unlocked

  Depends on the modem. The B818 is not locked and neither is the Netgear 810 , some of the other modems are locked.

  Finally I got the vodafone monthly $69 plan, which provides 720G data.

  With a 2nd 5g modem less than $100, download speed around 230M, happy with it

  I got my unlock code by messaging UNLOCK to 9999. Was quite easy.
