Thanks op. Always looking for liquid forms as opposed to capsules.

  • I wonder how many people supplementing vitamin D actually did tests to see if they are deficient prior to that?

Can’t hurt to take more.. whatever your body doesn’t need, would pee it out

      • Well, as a matter of fact… Not taking into account wasting your money:

While vitamin D is an essential nutrient for many bodily functions, taking too much of it can lead to some health problems. Here are the potential risks of taking vitamin D if you are not deficient:

Vitamin D toxicity: This is a rare condition that can occur if you take too much vitamin D supplements over a long period. The upper limit for most adults is 4,000 IU (international units) per day. Symptoms of vitamin D toxicity can include nausea, vomiting, weakness, fatigue, frequent urination, and kidney stones.

        www.verywellmind.com

Increased calcium levels: Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium from food. If you take too much vitamin D, it can lead to high blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia). Symptoms of hypercalcemia can include nausea, constipation, bone pain, and kidney stones.
It's important to note that getting too much vitamin D from sunlight is unlikely. However, it is always best to consult with your doctor before taking any new supplements, including vitamin D. They can help you determine if you need a supplement and what dosage is right for you.

Now, neg it all you want to hide the annoying truth from your sight, but it is true facts.

      • That's Vit C and the B complex and some others.
Excess Vit D is kept in the fatty tissue.

These fat soluble vitamins do not simply get peed out. Toxicity is real, especially among infants and those with lower body weight getting a comparably higher dose. Also note this does not state that it contains naturally fermented MenaQ7, so therefore it's the synthetic K2 is of which is questionable in its safety.

      • Can’t hurt to take more.. whatever your body doesn’t need, would pee it out

That's just the opposite of what happens! You can actually overdose vit D.

        WTH!

    • Well I recently found out that the BSN AminoX I've been taking daily for months has 12.5mcg of vit D per serve.

It was a nice surprise lol

    • Can't talk about others but I know that I don't get enough sun exposure in winters and have consistently low Vitamin D number in blood tests. Shorter sunlight hours in the day and less skin exposure due to extra clothing means on average people get deficient in winter.

Prior to industrial revolution, humans spent most of their time working outdoors. These days typical office worker spends most of the day confined indoors in 9 to 5 schedule and their only chance of sun exposure is on the weekend, depending on weather.

Various studies have linked long-term Vitamin D deficiency to various auto-immune conditions.

      • Yes, very logical structure. Hard to argue that most people have little sun exposure which leads to a wide spread deficiency. The fact that you can supplement vitamin D tells us that its levels are also obviously diet dependant, so, if you eat sardines all the time but stay away from the sun… Or if your body is particularly efficient in producing it, you may have a different to average picture. However, what I am trying to raise is that there is a very little point in supplementation if one has not tested his levels. Just shooting in the dark.

        • I agree and it's advisable to establish a baseline by getting you levels tested before supplementing.

  • It’s pretty difficult to overdose on vit D, and most sedentary office workers in the cooler states especially are likely to be a little defficient. However 4000IU is probably still a bit high. If you’re planning to supplement without having a blood test I’d stick to 1000-2000 IU.
