Telstra smart modem gen 2 can do around 950Mbps wired and 500-800Mbps on Wi-Fi 5.
Wifi 7 is a whole completely different price range, they start around $400 and really shine on specific high performance use cases, honestly with NBN I feel it'd be like driving a Ferrari on a dirt road!
The dirt road is improving. 2Gbps is coming to FTTP and HFC.

@softwhite: It supported 1Gbps for a long time that's what I had back in France about 10 years ago, now they offer symetric 8Gbps in France
But yeah DOCSIS 3.1 will allow HFC to support 8Gbps just ignore the fact that it's a 10 years old technolgy, good job NBN team!
I also have the same Telstra one. What would this router do better if I'm on 100mbps plan? Or not really worthwhile
I have an average dodo home wifi that doesn't really cover the whole house. If I plugged it into this would i get better coverage in my home. Im old, so be gentle.
While it may give you a slightly better range but it won't cover the whole house.

Worth noting that the E4 has a top speed of 100mbps. Given the state of NBN, you likely won't have an issue with that cap, but if you know that your area is getting upgrades, it might be worth considering.

It depends on the size and shape of your house, so YMMV, but my AX1800 covers the whole 4-bedroom house (single storey). It's not even at the centre of the house.

Yes, you wire it through the Wan port to the NBN box and then it's just a matter of changing the logins/connection details in the router to match your provider.
You might not need another router at all. I was able to just reflash my VR1600v so that I can remove TPG stuff but I think that wasn't essential. Have done this twice now.
I got one of these refurbs and it was faulty
I wouldn't trust Refurb for routers. The savings isn't worth it.
The ACL covers you they have to replace if it's faulty
Dealing with catch for issues is very problematic. They used to be ok about 15 years ago but last few years they just make it so difficult I end up not bothering.

Asus RT-AX82U AX5400 is also a good option at around $192 delivered using TECHMAY code ($20 off)
It has better speed, specs, can install AsusWrt Merlin.
Condition: Opened – never used. I will confirm what it means, once I receive mine.$60 makes it 40% more expensive bit much, also the 4808Mbps is a marketing gimmick. The router does support it but your receiving device has to support it to and it works with 4 (or maybe 8 can't remember) spatial streams however no consumer device really supports it not even any of Apple's latest devices they only do 2
