Hey Oz Bargain Community,

I'm quite excited about the coffee this deal marks the release of for three reasons:
1) It's the first Honey Processed coffee we've offered
2) It's the first coffee we've featured from India. Now I know you may be thinking, "India is known for their tea, but I didn't even know they grew coffee…" For a while know I've been on the look out for a special coffee to feature from India because it's the only origin left I haven't featured from those growing regions which helped shape my intrigue and passion for the coffee world in the early days. I'll try to explain without too much of a ramble. In the very early days when I was exploring the world of coffee I'd had number of filter and espresso coffees (from various regions) that made me think there was a special world within the coffee world that I needed to discover. However, when it came to milk based coffees, at that point I hadn't experienced anything I'd describe as an "eye opener moment" in that category, until I had a flat white using a coffee grown in India. I actually ordered it because I had the very though I assume some of you are having "I didn't even know coffee was grown in India." The flat white was something really special and I remember it to this day as it completed my circle of exploration before I was all in with finding our spot in the market. Yes, I have rambled, my apologies, but anyway I'm very happy I've found this delicious coffee from India to share you.
3) It's a Single Estate coffee

We're offering you a 40% discount off delicious newly released India Thalanar Single Estate Coffee, please note relatively speaking there is only a very limited amount of this coffee available, so if you're keen to try it I'd recommend not sleeping with the product in your cart and instead reserving some ASAP, more details below:

How is it for pour overs?

  • Morning @shiny1 I think it's wonderful as a pour over, that's how I kicked started my 4am start today :)

    • Nice. Going to try 1kg.

      • Fantastic to hear @shiny1 thank you so much for your order!!!

Hope you absolutely love this special Single Estate coffee from India :)

      • I think that would be too strong for a single coffee. I'd start around 25g or so. :D

        Haaaaaaa.

  • I should seriously start asking my work to deposit my wage directly to you guys, stop with the great deals already!

    • Morning @MiLKMaNRoX haha the first comment of the day to make me laugh, thank you, always a terrific way to start the day!

That might be a hit idea if it's a tax deduction for customers, which it actually may be for those with a free sole trader ABN (please note I am not a tax consultant so please take any tax comments from me with a grain of salt, make that half a grain of salt haha)…I'm wrapped to know we're in your good books, we'll keep working hard to stay there :)

  • I have an order shipping next week, how can I add a 1kg bag to it to save on shipping?

    • +2

Hey @Trueno you sure can, that sounds terrific!

Please simply send a reply email to your original order confirmation with the request and we'll make it happen from there for you :)

  • is grinder version available instead of beans?

    • Morning @lazydesi appreciate the double check!

Due to relatively limited availability of this delicious coffee we've have to limit the amount of SKU options to ensure we don't sell more than we have. As such, this one is exclusively available in whole beans form. However, there's a number of other option on our site available in pre-ground form :)

Thank you for those great deals! Excited to try it! I’ve always had good times with Indian single origins, but never had this one before.

    • Fantastic to hear you've already discovered the hidden gem of coffee from India @terryhur thank you so much for your order :)

Terrific news that you haven't has a coffee from this Estate yet, fingers crossed it's a real winner for you!

  • Hi OP,

Any chance of reducing the free shipping spend to purchasing 2KG? Purchased 3kg from your previous deal to get free shipping and found that 3kg is too much.

    Thanks!

    • Freezing might be an option

      • Appreciate the solution assist @HamesJoffman very helpful thank you :)

    • Hey @Bomba never hurts to ask!

It's just not financially viable to change the shipping, if it's of any comfort the $6.99 flat rate shipping is subsidised so on average shipping costs us more than we charge you. There's a few solutions if you're super keen on unlocking the free shipping (I know it's never fun paying shipping):

      1) Simply purchase 3kg of this India Single Estate coffee and freeze the extra as @HamesJoffman has wisely suggested

      or

      2) Get 1kg of the India and 1kg of our Moments to Memories blend, that was you order exactly 2kg and unlock free shipping at the same time :)

  • i was looking to order one , however no grounded option :(

    • +1

You can get a more than decent hand grinder for relatively cheap

      • You're on a roll this morning @HamesJoffman with more helpful solutions for the community, thanks again!

    • +1

Hey @listenam great news, I've got a couple of solutions for you:

      1) Order one of our other products which have enough availability to have pre-ground options

      2) As @HamesJoffman have very helpfully suggested, this may be the perfect time to take the plunge and get a hand grinder, it'll improve the flavour ten fold over pre-ground and open up the options for you, so you'll be able to enjoy special coffees with limited availability :)

      • +1

I do have a small coffe/spice grinder at home however I found consistency of the grind is not great and I get better coffe with grounded coffe.

        • +1

You are correct, blade grinders are notoriously bad for coffee. If you can afford it, for ($50 delivered) try something like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/KINGrinder-Adjustable-Aeropress-Co… it will be an order of magnitude improvement over blade ground.

Edit: This grinder is not really suitable for espresso however.

          • @ParadroidDX: I’ve been eyeing the Kinggrinder for a while now. I should have purchased when the K6 was on sale but was a bit hesitant….

Would you say the K0 would be fine for aeropress?

        • +1

Keep an eye out for KinGrinder or 1zpresso deals. They're excellent hand grinders for the money. You'll be blown away by the difference it makes. As with almost anything in the culinary world, fresh is best.

  • India is known for their tea, but I didn't even know they grew coffee…

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Budan

    • I always get beans from India when I travel there. I usually get them from blue tokai roasters.

    • Fantastic tea.

      • and coffee @Pudina Chutney :)

    • +1

Hey @soan papdi appreciate the link share, you're spot on that coffee has been grown in India for quite a while!

However, I believe if you ask the vast majority of coffee drinkers what counties come to mind that grow coffee I don't think India would be in the first ten countries that someone lists. Simply because it's not one of the main coffees seen around being featured as a Single Origin. It is a country on the move in terms of coffee, so they're hungry to grow they presence in the Specialty coffee world, so hopefully we'll see more coffees featured from India over time :)

  • Hi Tom, I've got an order in for 1kg of the half strength to be dispatched on 21 May. Would it be possible to change to this one? I'd pay the difference of course, but just wondering if it's more hassle than it's worth for you.

    • Hey @cpho appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

A request from a customer is never a hassle!

However, from a tech and time perspective as we have different systems for different parts of the operations side of things to solve your query below are the list of easiest to trickiest things to achieve all via a reply email request to your existing order confirmation:

      1) If you want the India dispatched on 21/5 simply request we add 1kg to your existing order
      2) Place a new order for India to be dispatched on 21/5 and send an email request to change the dispatch date of your original order
      3) If you only want 1kg and only want it to be the India then just email a request to switch the original product order

As mentioned above, no change it classified as a hassle for us when a customer requests it, there's just some changed that work better with the tech. Please proceed with whatever solution suits you best and don't base your decision on what the easier change for us to make :)

      • Thanks Tom. I've just bought the India beans separately and pushed the dispatch day far into June. Half strength means I'll drink twice as much coffee anyway, so should get through it before the Indian beans arrive.

        • All sounds wonderful!!!

Thank you so much for the order, love your planning ahead skills :)

  • Just picked up a bag. Never had Indian coffee before, sounds interesting.

    • Terrific to hear @Disused Crumb always fun to discover and new coffees!

Fingers crossed you love it, thank you so much for your order and giving this delicious coffee a go :)

  • Tried their filter coffee at one of the Indian restaurants a couple of months back and just loved it. Is this the same?

    • Hey @Zapwap wonderful to know you're already familiar with this Estate!

It's terrific to know you "love" coffee from here and based on that I believe you'll hopefully love ours too. However, please note that Estate has a variety of different coffees. Even if you get the identical green/raw coffee, if two batches are roasted each with a different roast profile the flavour results can be notably different. Please keep in mind, although delicious, the coffee from us will likely taste different from the coffee from India you've had before :)

  • Nice post OP, this estate is owned by on Indian origin Australian. Southern India do have great tasting coffee. Will definitely try this, South Indian "udupi coffee" is Starbucks of A meh rica.

    • +4

If it's good coffee you shouldn't compare it to Starbucks… 😐

      • -1

        😬
I was referring to the popularity element, how udupi coffee is familiar to households in that area.

I guess Adelaide is the only place in Australia where Starbucks opened a store and closed it within few months.

        • No, they tried their luck about 30 years ago in Brisbane when we were a sleepy little town. It didn't last long.

  • Thanks. Never had Indian coffee
    Looking forward to it

    • Same here

      • :)

    • Fantastic to hear @djevoultion thank you so much for your order, fingers crossed you love it :)

  • -1

This will be perfect when watching 24 hour re-runs of how can she slap

  • Indians mostly drink thier coffee with almost 30% chicory in it. And mostly in south India. Now even available in instant variety - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00O8WOSTU?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_…

It has its own flavor and even tho i dont drink coffee often, i like the chicory ones too when am not drinking espresso.

    • @John Doh oh yes, Bru coffee that's how morning starts for coffee drinkers in Southern parts of India.

  • -1

Damn I just bought airjo :(

  • I've sent you a PM for a swap

    • :)

  • @LimeBlueCoffee it would've been great if you had a deal for 500g (would've bought some) of this coffee deal, as 1kg is too much for me.

    • Hey @Trishool completely understand!

We only had a limited amount available, so we had to limit to variety of SKU to prevent overselling. We did have 500g packaging available. If there's a similar situation in the future, perhaps you could get 2x500g bags and share the order with someone or put one bag in the freezer to extend the freshness :)

  • Bought! Have tried a few honey process, but its my first India SO, so interested to try it :)

    • Terrific to hear @ParadroidDX thank you so much for your order, it's truly appreciated and I sincerely hope you love this delicious coffee from India :)

  • +1

This company does OzBargain right. Others take note.

    • What a thoughtful vote of confidence @HomebrewFC thank you so much for your kind words, we'll keep working hard to stay in your good books!

  • +1

Thanks OP. One order was shipped today and placed another. The gf was a none coffee drinker before trying your blends and now she can't get enough of it. Thanks for the top customer service too. Definitely will continue to be my go to beans.

    • Love your planning ahead skills @fitzy87 and it's terrific to know your gf is now well on the coffee train!

Thank you so much for your orders and continued support, it really does mean so much and is something we won't take for granted :)

  • @OP, mate, stop doing this. I exclusively buy from you. Love all your SO coffees. Between what's in my freezer and what's coming via delayed dispatched, I have about 7-8kgs. Now can't miss this one too. My wife is going to be pissed off with my chest freezer full of LB coffee. Also, I don't like ordering 1kg. I really know or understand the flavor on the 2nd pack with a rotation of another SO in between the two. Ordered 2 kgs. Now have a years supply. Please don't post any more deals now.

    • 😬😬😬☕☕

    • Any tips on freezing? Do you just throw in the bag as is? Do they keep the freshness well?

      • I let them breathe for about a week and just chuck the bags in the freezer. This way they are primed and ready for use when you remove them. I remove them a day before my grinder needs a refill. I haven't noticed any difference between freshly roasted and frozen beans.

      • I shove sealed 500g bags into sealed plastic cereal containers (mix of random cheap Kmart ones and some systema ones). I have a cramped freezer so this gives me peace of mind that the other things in there aren't going to pierce the bag when I'm rummaging.

Like mikstylo, I defrost the day before, still in the bag in the container, to make sure no moisture in the air condenses on the beans while they're still cold.

Tastes just as good as the fresh stuff I think. I haven't done a side by side with non frozen to be exactly sure though.

    • Haha WOW @mikstylo what a truly wonderful comment, you've brought a big smile to this side of the screen. Not sure if I can promise there'll be no more deals popping up with the financial year finishing soon and more importantly if I don't any more deals then I'll miss out on another comment from you that makes me laugh to read :)

Thank you so much for your outstanding, uplifting vote of confidence, fantastic Lime Blue Coffee loyalty and terrific orders; either you need to throw a coffee party or I need to start designing a customer coffee freezer for Lime Bluers!!!

  • Hi OP,

Our first ever order from you was the Brazilian single origin which we enjoyed. We then tried the Colombian and it wasn't to our liking as we enjoy creamier chocolatey coffee so no hint of sour. We always have flat whites with Jura full auto.

Would this be suitable for us to try or do you think it's best to stick with Brazilian (or any other you can recommend) for our preference?

    Thanks.

    • Morning @Chinerama appreciate you taking the time to double check first, always better to be safe than sorry!

Appreciate the detail, very helpful and it's terrific to know our Brazil SO is a real winner for you. This India Single Estate has a slightly lower acidity kick than our Colombia SO, however more of an acidity kick than our Brazil. The acidity for this one is in the medium level, as it appears your go to is coffees with lower levels of brightness/acidity I'd recommend sticking with our Brazil SO and perhaps trying our SWP Decaf (I know it's decaf, but has delicious chocolate notes with lower acidity levels) and our Moments to Memories blend which has a low-medium level of acidity kick :)

      • @LimeBlueCoffee thanks for the response.

I actually have your decaf beans too for the evening drink. So will stick to the Brazilian and Decaf once I finish the Colombian beans.

        Cheers.

        • +1

Sure thing @Chinerama sounds like a plan :)

    https://www.nescafe.com/in/our-coffees/nescafe-sunrise
This is the nescafe sunrise which we drink regularly. It is not easily available in Aus unfortunately. :(

  • Thanks OP, excited to give this a go!

    • Music to my ears @poppingtags thank you so much for your order, fingers crossed you love this coffee!!!

  • Is Colombia Cauca Single Origin good for a fruity pourover coffee?

    • +1

100% @Tim Mc it's terrific if you're after a clean, crispy fruitiness. If you're looking for funky, winey fruitiness, we currently don't have any coffee in then flavour spectrum availably, but we have featured funky coffees in the past, so I'm sure we will again in the future :)

  • Amazing customer service from these guys. Sent them a message earlier this week regarding incorrect item received 3 months ago and I received replacement 2 days later. I was expecting them to honour the complaint as it was 3months later. You got customer for life. Keep up the good work. 👍👍

    • How absolutely wonderful to hear @expertreader I'm so happy to know we're in your good books, I promise we'll keep working hard to stay there!!!

Thank you so much for your uplifting vote of confidence :)

  • Thank you! Ordered for 28 June.

    • Amazing @lostinsydney thank you so much!!!

  • Can you try the traditional coffee from the roaster malgudi days?. They sell that coffee for $60-70. It doesn't cost anything close to that in India. A little bit of competition maybe good. I drink that black with a little bit of sugar. Goes great with milk as well.

    • Hey @peekabooo appreciate the query, never hurts to ask!

We may feature another coffee in the future from India if we find one we're happy with due to how popular this Single Origin was. However, we like to sail in our own direction and only compete against ourself, so the next India coffee we feature will be discover by trying samples from green importers rather than other roasters. I'm not trying to say there's something wrong with you've suggested, it's a perfectly reasonable request, but I just don't see copying others in our future, it's just not how we're built :)

      • It is a traditional filter Indian coffee. There is no secret. Just ask an Indian coffee brewer what coffee is used for filter coffee. I'm not aware of any other type Indian coffee in India. Don't miss out on an opportunity.

  • I'd tried monsooned Malabar from India before from my old local roaster, so I knew India did coffee. I wasn't a fan of that one though so never really thought much about what else India might produce.

Grabbing a kg of this thalanar to give it a go, sounds more up my alley than the malabar. And grabbing a kg of the Brazil while I'm at it to hit the free shipping. Big fan of the Brazil in my flat whites and piccolos.

    • Absolutely fantastic to hear @salem thank you so much for placing such a terrific combo order with us!!!

      • And now I see your new deal which includes decaf. I set my ship date for next week or later I think. Any chance of adding 500g of the new decaf deal in? I'll hit up your support email address with my order details if so.

        • +1

Hey @salem sounds like a terrific idea!

Happy to make that happen for you, just send the email request via a reply to the original order confirmation please 😃
