Note: these don't have X/D-Input so may not work with some devices.

Personally I prefer the 8BitDo Pro 2 as it basically supports everything. Also the Pro 2 has now been upgraded with Hall-Effect Joysticks.

Yep got pro2 then bought this, returned thr ultimate and keep pro2. Not drifted yet im casual nin switch gamer

    • I prefer the Pro 2 also because of the symmetrical thumbstick layout compared to this style.

I really hope the 8Bitdo brand doesn't abandon the 'Playstation' layout going forward or when the Switch 2 comes out in favour of this version =(

    • I got both ultimate and Pro 2 for Switch. The Pro 2 keeps disconnecting.. any idea?

      • update the firmware via the 8bitdo software

    • I love the comments on OZB I was so confused about these controllers with many different models.

Pro 2 is $66 at the moment on Amazon with coupon. Is that good price?

That's the old version without the hall-effect joysticks. It's the one I've been using for a couple of years now.

The upgraded hall-effect version are still full price.

        • See I would get scammed again. Thanks

@Budju: $66 is decent for the original Pro 2 (usually around ~$60 on sale).

The hall-effect updated version was just released and are still $89.95 on Amazon.

            • @RichardL: Thanks. I think I need the best one, even though I don't quite get what hall-effect even does

@Budju: Hall effect means they wont develop stick drift. Ive had two Pro 2's on high rotation for a few years and no drift yet. their software is decent you can change deadzones etc & their support is v. responsive and firmware updates keep coming. Pro 2s have symmetrical joysticks which I prefer but isnt great for extended sessions imo

                • @asCMSas: Oh OK sweet. I think it's something I'd probably never actually need based on my level of use. But if it exists it has to be done XD Stick drift has bugged me in the past.

I LOVE my 8Bitdo Ultimate controller so much , and now I'm gonna get one in white (Coz I keep losing my black one on the couch)

The D-Pad is the best …just the best.

  • great price

  • Hi, can this be connected to Samsung TV? thanks.

I got this for PC and connected, but KB mouse feels so good that its hard for me to make a switch. I know I can relax back on the chair and enjoy gameplay with these, but finding it hard to make the switch in the first place.

    • Thats exactly why i got mine and very happy with it playing last epoch and loving it .

      • Any tips on how you made the switch? Forced yourself?

  • Do these feel kinda boxy compared to standard xbox controllers? The sides look kinda straight, just wondering about the ergonomics?

    • I prefer the xbone controller, but I use both interchangeably

  • I appear to have a 25 percent off tick box available for the pink variant ? Brings the totally down to $63.71.

    • Is it Bluetooth tho

    • the Pastel Pink is the old 2.4g Variant (without the upgraded hall-effect joysticks).

  • i am using this for steam deck, the nintendo button mapping is great for emulation (if any nintendo lawyers reading this, I own all the games).

however using this controller for other non-nintendo games is a bit of hit and miss. mainly due to certain games treat this as a nintendo switch pro controller, and certain game don't, and it's hard to get used to the button mapping when it's being constantly swap around. I tried looking for controller layout to address this issue but no dice.

dock charging is amazing though, wish they have one for xbox button mapping.

Which is why the 2.4g version exists and has been updated with hall-effect joysticks now. It also has xbox button layouts (A & B swapped around).

    • You can buy just the Xbox buttons and switch them over with the ones in the bluetooth version:

  • I'm a bit confused, not that it matters much for me, but I ordered the controller from the deal, "Ultimate Bluetooth Controller" but it comes with the 2.4G receiver? why is there a separate option to order a 2.4G version?
