  • Reading through the site, it seems all you get for $39 is entry???

    • Pretty sure you get a souvenir glass that you use to drink a full 285ml serving of the beer.

Otherwise you pay for a tasting paddle of 85ml samples (5 for $10) or $6+ a beer.
Can be alot more- last year some beers cost $32 :O

If you've got an RSA, you might be able to volunteer and attend another session at the festival for free, get a T-shirt and $10 worth of tokens.

Only volunteer session left is Saturday night.
Might be better off paying $22.50 for a Sunday session than volunteer on the busiest session.

    So for $39, I get:

    • The opportunity to pay more for beer than I usually would
    • The joy of having to wait in longer lines than at a pub
    • All the fun of having to wade through crowds to get anywhere
    • The chance to make use of severely overworked public toilets
    • According to "http://gabsfestival.com.au/festival-beers/" they may even run out of beer!

Sounds like the best day out ever! Gonna get me a season pass!

    • $19.50 if you have a friend :)

The opportunity to pay more for beer than I usually would

how much do you usually pay? which beer?

I'm not going to GABS specifically to get drunk (though that will indeed happen). I'm going to GABS to try all the specialty beers. If getting trashed on your favourite swill is all that interests you, then GABS certainly won't be your thing
