I dont think anyone ever pays to go to this…

  • Anyone know if you actually have to be part of a company to be allowed entry?

    • +1

      nope.
i go every year and stock up on pens and sticky notes , etc

      • +3

Lucky to even get those at trade shows these days.

    • No need, but "company name" is a required field during registration. You can be your own boss :-)

        I work for Initech.

I thought we all work for OzBargain?

          I work for Initech.

I dont think they have free staplers at Cebit ;)

      • +1

You can also put spaces in "company name" and "position" to make them blank.

The cebit freebies used to be great about 7 years ago and since then they've all gone downhill.

Be prepared for lots of spam when exhibitors etc scan your badge and take down your details! They never check re: company credentials. I have put a '-' as my company many years and no-one seems to care.

    • Would it still be worthwhile for the freebies in your opinion?

      • Probably not.

      • it depends on what you get, last year I got a pocket(knife) took kit from Intel, but they had a very limited supply its first in best dressed

i call for an Ozbargain Sydney meetup @ CEBIT

    • Lets do it

    • +6

I actually have a morning meeting in the city on Wed 29 May, and plan to pop into CeBIT at around lunch time. I will bring some T-shirts to give out. Who want to come?

        1. Me. Please specify exact time and place of meeting.
      • yeah scotty, but only if the t shirt says something like "I'm a professional and all i [didn't] get was a lousy refund"!

        • Yep, im in too pending my work arrangments, but put me on the maybe list

Vote up to front page so other ozbarginers can be made aware of the meetup

      • +1

Im going for the Ozbargain shirt, the rest is crap ;)

      • +1

As for the T-shirt, it's the v2 that I've just received the shipment yesterday. Here are the images of front and back. I am planning to be hanging around the door at around lunch time (say near 12PM) so for those who can't be bothered with getting a CeBIT ticket, or other work in the city who have short lunch can meet.

Let's see if we get enough interest we might actually create a forum post, and leave this post for CeBIT tickets.

        • Which door? CeBIT uses Halls 3 to 6 and there are multiple entrances IIRC.

        • I will end up going, but just dont know which day yet .. Will probably know by 14th or 15th may.

        • I'll be there for the T-Shirt.

      • Wed, the one day I don't go to the city. But heck, for the OzB Tee, I'm there =D

  • They don't ask for a date while registering.
So is this registration for all 3 days or just for any one day ?

  • re freebies, been going for last 4 years for work, if by 'freebies' you get excited by leaflets/mints/business cards/cheap pens/free wifi then sure, if you are close go for it
ps last time i got a free mug was 3 years ago, still got it, thanks d-link!

  • Hey Guys!
Is it 1 ticket 1 person? I want to take my wife with me.
    Thanks

    • Anyway I reged her too just in case hehe

      • IT is one ticket per person, so you did the right thing registering her too.
