  • Nice find! I look forward to getting a few of these :)

  • Apple only!

You don't need an apple device if you grant them access to your facebook details.

      • No facebook, no apple. no free hot chocolate

    • Or you could visit the site on your computer?

  • …love for Apple fanbois only !

  • nice

  • I had this offer pop up from the shopper nova app, but they never load for me!

    • it takes about 30- 60 sec for me… then you must click the ADD button - otherwise you loose it.

  • Thanks OP!

Just visit any RSL pokie places..

They give u free hot chocolate/coffee all the time

  • does it have to be your local 7-11 or can it be any 7-11 that you cross by?

  • just tried to use it - attendant said it came up as invalid code

    maybe it'll work tomorrow?!?

  • +1

It's definitely hot choc weather, in Melbourne! Yummy, thanks!

    • It is !! Perfect timing.. :)

  • Tried taking it in, but the attendant rejected it saying the voucher doesn't have a barcode, it has a QR code.

    • same here, says it has to be a barcode - they don't accept QR code and refused to scan.

  • Don't have a smart phone, they sent me an email with a blank pdf, so useless.

  • Freebies with 7-Eleven have never had clear instructions.

Even the Passport voucher says under Instruction "Just show your pass in-store at any 7-Eleven and the offer is yours" - nothing about scanning in the code!
It also states under Terms and conditions "Valid one per person per day. Redeemable on presentation of the voucher" - again no scanning!

But the 'One per day' thing is also falsey… if you scan it at 7-Eleven the voucher expires - as if you try and scan it again it comes up already used!
The only way to get another voucher is to reapply as you origianlly did - and this most time will not work, as I have tried, you get the message 'Sorry you have already claimed your free voucher'.

I did get a free hot choc for that rainy day later on in the week :)

Just wondering, how do you obtain the hot chocolate once you're in the store? Haven't been to 7-Eleven since the release of Hot Chockee and just want to know whether it's in some heated storage for you to get or you make it yourself like the coffee or the staff makes it for you?

And also, do they scan the QR code or just punch in the numbers? If the latter, I could save the picture onto my non-smart phone and hand it in.

    • At my local store, they have them chilling on top of the coffee machine and on the counter where they serve you, there really quite nice though. and they come with just a cup with chocolate on the bottom with foil on top, you can make it at home or do it there. xD

  • Worked for me! The guy at 7-eleven told me that there are new passes available everyday and that you have to download a new one to get scanned.

  • ahhh just stopped by 7-11 just now and they just told me the code was invalid :-(

    • That's not good. Did they know what they were doing?

Just got my free hot chocolate but had a hard time with the stingy 7-Eleven guy at South Yarra.
    1. Gave him the voucher before I proceed to the machine and he immediately said "STOP STOP STOP". Took my voucher and look at it thoroughly and said "I have never seen this before".
    2. He said he couldn't scan the QR code as it is not a barcode. He said he can't accept that voucher.
    3. Then he said "Is this from Australia?"!!
Not the first time. Similar case happened before when I tried to claim the free chocolate from the previous 7-eleven promotion too.

    • Went to claim mine and he said "it's been used". Not possible as I haven't used it!!!

      • Holy crap, the guy at South Yarra also said "It's been used".

        Something's fishy up about 7-Eleven.

        • +1

He lied. He's just being very stingy about giving free stuff away. He do that all the time by using these excuses.

        • +3

its probably cause of the mhs students always claiming freebies haha

        • Lol, honour their work

  • They're back! 1968 remaining.

  • So works as well as the previous 7-Eleven offers then? ;-)

Clicked add in the app but it didn't to go Passport (Other vouchers did). Says "Reserved" in the ShopperNova app. Anyone know how to get it to (re)appear in Passport?

Edit: It came through as a PDF in an email instead

  • If they can't scan it, can they just enter the barcode number manually in to the terminal?

    • +2

what would help more, is if 7-Eleven actually told it's stuff about current promotions, as in my experience with several different promos, the staff never knew wtf i was on about, and although i got what the offer was offering every time, you almost feel like a criminal in the process. That's not a good promo.

      • +1

That's exactly what I was thinking. Most of the time the retail staff have no clue. Makes us feel like criminal indeed. The cashier asked if the voucher I presented was from/for Australia?!! What an insult.

    • +2

I believe they could. The cashier manually put in something onto his machine last night.

      • Yes, the cashier took ages to punch in and then suddenly said it didn't work.

I don't think they actually know how to scan it.

  • I has this popup today, since i was driving my wife to work i was able to swing by.

I made my chocolate and handed him my phone, he looked at it weirdly, tried to scan it (it failed), he typed the code in and all was good.

Reading the T&C on it i assumed i could use the same voucher every day till 24/06 otherwise "Valid one per person per day." is a little misleading, if it was single use it should say so, now im not sure if i need to get a new one tomorrow or not.

    • According to my interpretation, you will need a new one (unused) each time to claim.

    • I expect that they are single use like the previous 7-Eleven deals. The numbers are certainly unique.
There were a new set of vouchers made available today after yesterday.
Save some embarrassment and get yourself a new one each day the promo continues.

      • yeah i was planning on it, its just (as usual) very poorly worded.

    • Yeah, just held up a pile of people in 7-eleven because the voucher I got yesterday said I could use it once per day until the 24th.

Of course, they knew nothing about it and reacted as if the free drink would be garnered from their wage.

So I went back to ShopperNova and applied again.

What a dumb system. (Though the QR on the phone is a good way to work it .. if they'd only explain to either us or the 7-11 people how it works. AND remind the 7-11 people that they won't be asked to personally pay for it ..)

  • 7-Eleven have good intentions but are very poor with the execution of their promos eg. Like with their other voucher deals where the barcode is tiny but the graphics are huge (wasted ink).
This should have had instructions for the cashier (and customer) on the voucher. Better for all.

  • Just got back from 7-11 and the Hot Chockee's flavour is not strong enough (even after the recommended hot water usage). Do note that it is SUPER hot!

    • Go half-and-half. The milk is too cold. And make sure you only fill it to the advised 'fill' line.

      • Gotta get the right balance of water, cold milk and hot milk.

I used water and hot milk when i made mine 30mins ago, and its still a nice temp, but burnt my tounge a bit at the start, next time a little cold milk should fix it.

Yesterday, the attendant tried 6 times but failed, she got the manager who did it in 10 seconds. I guess the attendant was entering in the wrong area, needs to be added as a voucher or something like that. I think they need to provide proper instructions on the vouchers for the attendants (or outfit the stores with appropriate scanners so it all just works).

  • +1

Went to claim mine and he said "it's been
used". Not possible as I haven't used it!!! Think it's a load of BS!

    • Unfortunately, 7-Eleven have had complaints like this with all their promotions. They seem to be few in number compared with the amount of successful claims though - but visible enough to be a worry.
Try it again at a different 7-11 and see if it works (before you add the water).
It shouldn't make a difference in theory, but in practice I've had success on a second attempt.

I've also seen their systems issue duplicate codes. So if someone got your code first, that would also explain it. Contact 7-11 and tell them what happened.

In an earlier promotion, someone here was able to build their own code generator. If this is still possible then another explanation is that a code has been generated that matched yours. Building a code generator is highly fraudulent activity. But that doesn't help you.

  • As expected, complaints being registered on the 7-Eleven Australian Facebook page…

  • Just went and didn't work and couldn't get it :(

    • Stock has been refreshed! See my post below :)

The only place, in Melb metro, that I've had problems with these vouchers, is Heidelberg! The staff there really go out of their way to make sure these vouchers DON'T work and treat you with contempt! Now, I'll stop there just out of spite (meeeow!!) and tell them to key it in and if that doesn't work, they always say they'll have to ring 'head office'. I say "OK" and just stand there and wait. Funny how they try 'one more time and the codes 'suddenly' work when you tell them that!
All the other ones I stop at just key in the code, if the scanner doesn't pick it up and voila!

  • I've been to six stores in the past two days. No stock in any of them. Either this promo is really successful, or an abject failure.

    • Check with the staff. Sometimes they have them in a bag at the counter and don't top up the regular containers. Who knows why…

  • To people who have gotten this to work successfully, are you just supposed to ask the attendant to enter the numbers under the QR Code as "voucher" or something? Just came back after an unsuccessful attempt. sigh..

    • Here are the Operator Instructions that were printed on the Snack'o'wheel vouchers:

      1) Scan the product
      2) Touch 'eVoucher' button
      3) Scan barcode on voucher (phone's screen or printed)
      4) Complete the transaction

These hot chockee vouchers are QR codes, not barcodes, but I assume the process would be the same.
If the scan doesn't work, then ask them to try entering the voucher number from under the code.

  • I just been to the 7-Eleven in Campsie NSW and the stupid Indian at the counter said that they were 'out' of Chockee or something like that, I can tell it is BS and have just lodged a complaint with HQ hopefully they sort this guy out but I am not holding my breath, as the last time they had something free, the free slurpee, the machine was 'broken'.
    How convenient.
    Idiots.

    • Terms and conditions:
      While allocated stocks last.

  • Hmmm. Says 'valid until 24/6' but guys said it was expired… :(

  • I managed to redeem 3 so far without any issues. It's basically the same hot choc as those red hot choc sachets from Nestle. Nothing like a real hot choc but I ain't complaining if it's free ;)
