      • +1

Hmmm…although they do list the cashback just under the $124.50 price…

    • +1

Under the price it actually says cashback so I'd say that you get a cashback!!

  • What about warranty? Does the price incl accident/damage? I guess cash back offer is not applicable for ACER online store purchase…

  • +7

can't be bothered with 50 units only.

    • in all fairness, 50 units on on a discount of $124.50 is pretty decent.

If it were 50 tea bags on the other hand…

  • +1

    1 yr accidental damage cover

  • VIP only? How to become a VIP?

    • Nothing, you just buy it. Doesn't even say VIP on most of the advertising, just the details page.

  • +9

Waiting for a server meltdown and a flurry of negative votes

    • MySQL: Too many connections

  • +2

50 only? I bet most of us won't get it.

  • I have an Acer A500, very pleased with it. But I quite fancy this one, for travelling!

  • Any comments on the quality/usability of the tablet?

  • Interested in this purely for movie playback — thoughts people?

  • +3

The tablet is a good budget tablet. Great for 1/2 price.

But the Acer webserver is running slow already. Unless you have a botnet at your disposal, the odds of frustration vs buying one are approximately 3,720 to 1!.

    • +1

+1 for the maths. Or in lamens terms, more likely to get hit by a volvo whilst crossing the road I believe.

        • +8

I'm more of a lei man

        • +1

Um, I'm not too bright when it comes to gaming references if that's what that is?!

        • -1

Your grammar just made me cut myself.

        • +1

Much appreciated. I'm happy to learn new things everyday.

        • Well I did cross the road earlier without being collected by a Volvo so I'm in with a good chance to get myself an Acer tablet.

        • I hope we both do, but I don't like our chances.

  • +7

Great for that price, almost as good as a Nexus 7 but the battery life isn't as good.
With the Nexus 7-2 releasing soon, best to wait.

  • The processor is MT8125 1.2GHz, typically cheap compared to mainstream qualcomm, nvidia

    • PD80-HD!!!! :D

  • So anyone can just buy it tomorrow even if you're not VIP? Do they take Paypal?

  • +8

Want it, wont get one due to small numbers and server meltdown, $124.50 + $15 saved! Thanks Ozbargain!

  • The screen is not very responsive, i got it a few days ago from Binglee as seen in ozbargain.

    • interesting, i've read many reviews that say it's as responsive as the Nexus 7. Faulty unit maybe?

      • +1

Here's benchmark between Iconia A1 and Nexus 7. I don't think a quad-core Cortex-A7 chip would be faster than a A9-based cheap, but I don't think it would be "unresponsive" either.

        • I don't think it is related to any speed issue. The tablet loads apps very fast. But sometimes I have to touch it 2 or 3 times to get a click especially while web browsing.I have read someone complaining the same in whirlpool forums.

        • +1

Does it have a screen protector on it? It may cause the issue that you have.

        • +1

Hi mate, if it just happening in the browser then it is very likely the browser problem, a web site that has too many JavaScript will screw up the browser. Nexus 7 has the same issue.

  • -2

Not getting. I'll probably get a nexus 7 if i have to.

  • Anyone asked Bing Lee to match?

    • I tried, couldn't price match them because they were online. BingLee price jumped up to $229 on their website.

  • +2

    good luck getting one LOL!

  • Has anyone tried buying from these type of sales where theres only a certain amount of units, is it that hard to get one?

  • +2

2000+ clicks for 50 units. Not going to bother! :P

  • seems like a good deal.. and the ideal size as well.

  • +1

I wonder if all the people saying that they don't want one or it's a waste of time are actually just saying it as a diversion strategy :P

See you all tomorrow at 12pm people.

    • +4

update: they changed the time to 1pm.

      • +1

They have?? Oh yeah…That's right, they have.
        It's now 1:00pm people. ;)

        • +1

          Ok thanks.

          Hang on, wait a minute…

        • -1

          Hang on, wait a minute…

          or an hour. ;-)

  • The website was down a few min ago lol

  • I can't even login since last week

  • -1

Website still says 12pm for me

  • +1

    there's a website??

  • Will give it a shot tomorrow. See you all there.

  • +1

Not bad, but keep in mind the Screen resolution: 1024x768

    Nexus 7" 1280 x 800 by comparison.

  • +1 just to see the Acer site get OzBargained…

  • Would this have an IPS screen?

    • LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors , 768 x 1024 pixels, 7.9 inches (~162 ppi pixel density) , Multitouch.

  • +3

Pretty good advertising by Acer. Never would of looked at this product, but this has made me haha

  • 3437 clicks already…it's gonna feel just like catch of the day!

  • 768 x 1024 pixels, 7.9 inches (~162 ppi pixel density)
    1GB RAM

Good thing is it has GPS compared to Kindle Fire HD

  • not bad for the price after cashback, but personally I'll spent a bit more to get a 2GB RAM one

    • +1

It's not as simple as adding more ram will result in faster and smoother operation. It's all about the optimized integration for both software and hardware. Take iPad mini for example, it runs very smoothly and only has 512mb of ram.

  • Front camera: 0.3 MP

discount hd conferencing then, to say nothing of a 0.7*mp monitor.res (approx. half retina)

    • +4

You signed up to OzB just to post that?

8 pound 6 ounce tiny baby infant jesus is crying for you :(

BTW - I give amazing man hugs - you won't need to post garbage like that after we hug it out…promise :)

    • lol'ed

  • If anyone doesn't want to go through with the hassle of server crashes, ring them up and reserve one, takes a bit of hagglin but its worth it.

  • Does anyone know if this deal is a physical in store purchase or could be purchased online???

  • -1

So compared to the PD10HD I got a few weeks ago this has a crappier cpu/gpu, only half the RAM, lower screen res and more expensive. Why buy this over a Chinese tablet?

    • +1

Realistically they are both Chinese tablets (both made in China and both are Chinese brands)

Not everyone got the PD10HD (including me, the OP) for $80. The same pad costs $149 elsewhere so you have to compare it to this price.

    • +1

      Phoebus has a valid point

  • +6

I think we have a site down, a full 20minutes before this starts. Woot!

  • +1

Proxy error on the site.. its getting Ozbargained!

  • Server is down / overloaded… Click frenzy anyone? I knew it wasn't meant to be but still sporting fun.

  • +1

And here Acer boasted about upgrading their recently. If this is their idea of an upgrade, then I'd hate to see what it was like before :/

  • +8

Ozbargainers, best DDoS attacking team in Australia, well done Scotty !!! LOL

    • Makes me wonder how much hosting OzBargain costs Scotty a month.

      • +1

More and more every couple of months :( Fortunately the cost of bandwidth has also decreased quite a bit over the years.

  • +1

    Fail lol

  • Dead server.. DOS attack .. lol

  • And the MeltDown Begins

    • You are a bit behind - Evilteddy reported it 20 minutes ago :)

At least they are not taking our money like DX.

  • dead link

  • I tried phoning them but no good. Give up now. Irish operator ook my number, then said "there will be a follow-up offer". Hmmm… :(
He says their server can handle 7 to 10,000 hits per second. I doubt that, given how early it went down. Anyone managed to load a page?

    • +1

"He says their server can handle 7 to 10,000 hits per second"

Well I believe the 7 part. And no loading since 11:45 on my end. About to give up and head out for lunch.

    • yeah but it was text only and still referenced the old page.

    • +1

Oh, the fools! If only they'd built it for 10,001 hits! When will they learn?

  • +2

loaded a page a few times. but no buy button..

  • +8

I wonder if company's assessed the time employee's spend on OZB, that maybe it would be more economical for companys to just give us a personal laptop/tablet/external hdd's/free kindle books & tweezers.. !!

  • getting message "Currently our server has very high load (1 click in 1 minute) please try again shortly."

  • "Currently our server has very high load please try again shortly."

  • +1

I think we've clicked the acer site into oblivion. But who's stubborn like me?

  • Currently our server has very high load please try again shortly.

    • Sort of defeats the point of being the first 50 in doesn't it?

  • broked it gooda now

  • FAIL!!!!!

  • Currently our server has very high load please try again shortly……

  • +1

I am still clicking.. I think I have OCCOZBD!! (obsessive compulsive clicking oz bargain disorder)
