Nobody is going to bother doing the price benchmark anymore?

    CPU: $225 MSY
    Mobo: $149 MSY
    RAM: $130 MSY
    SSD: $99 MSY
HDD (Assumed WD10EZEX Blue) $68 MSY
    GPU $489 (static ice)
    Od $20 (static Ice)
    Case $99 (MSY)
    PSU $100 (staticice)
    Build fee (MSY labour $70)

    $1378 (+70)

    • +12

      I wouldn't say no-one, you did :)

    • +2

      You beat me to it!

    • MSY quoted me $90 on my last build. Similar box and no software

      • MSY quoted me $90 on my last build. Similar box and no software

90 bux!!! even without software, that is very very cheap!!!

        • Thats for the build (Labor only). No components which you assumed.

    • +1

      why not compare Mwave too.

      i5 4570: $229
      Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3: $149
      2xKingston HyperX 8GB: $170
SSD: $119.99 (yea its expensive with these guys)
      1TB: $65
      GTX770OC :$469
      OD:$20
      Case: $99
      PSU: $85

      229+149+170+119.99+65+469+20+99+85=1405.99

However the mWave build cost is very expensive 150 i think, also they only build if you add windows to the list.

Either way this is a crazy price cplonline are doing, good on you guys!

  • How much for an upgrade to an i7 CPL?

    • +1

the i7 is $120 more on the price lists. :) worth $120 more? probably not unless you need the 100Mhz 2mb and 4 threads 3-8% performance for something.. RTS games maybe

Even on the locked core i5, i7 you can overclock a good 400Mhz with that motherboard using the auto overclock software that comes with Gigabyte

      • I've been wondering why all gaming systems suggest an i5 than an i7 for gaming. I'm tempted to upgrade to an i7 actually, because I do more casual video editing than gaming these days :(

        • The short answer is: Many games don't benefit from multi-threading, and secondly, the GPU is usually the main bottleneck in any gaming scenario.

Take this Ultra High Detail, High tex Skyrim benchmark for eg.
          http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2013/06/01/intel-core-i7-47…

and pay attention to how Intel Core i7-4770K (3.5GHz) doesn't score any higher than a Intel Core i5-3570K (3.4GHz). In fact, it probably did worse (with a slightly lower average fps, probably a result of the hyperthreading not being supported by game engine)

That's the graphics card bottleneck at work. The GPU being tested is a GTX 680 which is no slouch either, but that proves that if you have anything lesser than a 680, most likely whatever Intel i5/7 you pick you have won't matter anymore because the GPU is the limiting factor.

    Sensible choice of parts too.

OP: For your next deal, I would like to see an unlocked CPU + a water-cooled system . That's the only thing holding me back from this deal.

    • You don't need water-cooled for a unlocked CPU for this system. Plenty of room to release heat and I doubt anyone will overclock too much with this system.

I have i7 3770k OC to 4.4ghz and my temperature doesn't even reach 60 degree at 100% with air cooling

      • It depends on what you will need the system for. I'd like for the system to be fairly quiet as I intend to use it for recording as well. The fans would generate a lot of noise.

        • Not exactly the issue there as recording will not generate much more noise with low db fans. Probably a tiny bit more but not noticeable. My PC is even quieter than my friend's laptop so I don't quite get why are you so into water-cooled system.

I'm even running SLI and still it's not loud.

        • +2

Don't know why he got negged. I'd say that is a pretty reasonable request. Water cooling is no longer exotic especially when you have reasonably priced closed loop systems like the H100i.

Haswell has similar/slightly higher temps when OC'ing as compared to Ivy. Also, the variance between chips vs attainable clock vs heat is a bit higher (anecdotal evidence).

          Reasonable enthusiast OC build:
          Intel 4770K
          Corsair H100i
Asus Sabertooth/deluxe/Maximus VI Hero class board (or their GA/MSI equivalents)

        • I don't understand the hang up concerning noise. I had a computer years ago with a noisy Creative AWE64 soundcard. I just sampled a section of silence, inverted it, pasted it back onto the entire recording - voila - all noise (and only the noise) gone!

        • +1

That's an extra step for each part of the recording that you would have to do. It would get pretty tedious if you would have to repeat that process each time over a number of tracks. I don't record as often as I did before, so I guess i could do it as you've suggested. However, I'd rather just pay the extra dosh for a more silent system and save myself the effort and time.

      • Which is why lucksmith also asked for an unlocked CPU. Unlocked CPU being overclocked would need a water-cooled system.

        • I think I was editing my post back when you are replying so I don't quite get what you mean. Overclocking an unlocked CPU does not require water-cooled system. Unless you are trying to do OC to 6GHZ then it is pointless to even buy this system as it is not suitable for heavy overclock

        • +2

No Letrico, at ~4.5Ghz (4770k)on ~1.3v, a watercooled solution would be quite beneficial. Especially if your case airflow is suboptimal (or you have heaps crammed into your case).

    • +6

selling ready made systems with water cooling is like opening a can of worms

it isn't easy/quick to assemble one, and warranty issues with leakages? hell no :D

system sellers would rather go the safer route, water cooling and overclocking are for enthusiasts, elitists and hobbyists

      • +2

        Two words: Closed Loop.

    • +1

Given that water cooling is a complete and utter waste of time, I don't expect they'll do that anytime soon.

      • +1

Water cooling is great for cases where there's not much room for airflow. It is also a lot quieter than fans.

    • -1

back in the day when CPUs actually got hot.. P4s etc. But since like c2d it's really not needed for low-mid overclocking.

  • Need a better looking case

  • Battlefield 4 ready

that's all you need to know

  • Good price.

Can anyone do better by building the same spec PC with different brand parts?

  • +2

I'm in the market for a new higher end gaming/development machine.

Can we change it to a different case ? (corsair 650D or Fractal Define R4)
    Upgrade to i7 4770k?
    GPU: 2x Radeon 7970?

    • Hi, please shoot an email to [email protected]. I will try to work out a quote for you.

  • +1

    Very very tempted…

  • I'm in the market for an i3 pc, can you do any good deal?
I need it by tomorrow, the latest

    • Hi, please shoot an email to [email protected]. I will try to work out a quote for you.

    • +1

Did the come up with a deal for you? I'd also be interested in something similar.

  • I'm guessing with shipping it wouldn't be worth it for WA?
Buy part local and build myself?

  • +2

when are you opening a store in sydney

  • I would like a basic i5 system for general use. Something similar to the systems you have had in recent weeks around $500.

    • Hi, please shoot an email to [email protected]. I will try to work out a quote for you.

      • +2

Ahh Copy and past, where would we be without it :)

  • +4

I'm selling the guts of an i5 system in the Selling/Swapping section - i5 3570 + 16GB RAM + H77M-D3H + GTX 650 and some other bits for $500. Only need to add in a case and PSU.

  • +1

    Well done CPL, great deal

    • +1

Thank you for all you guys' support!

  • On the pressure of large amount of phone calls and emails, we decided to open the deal again for another few hours. Hurry up guys!

  • +1

what is with the negs people

not even taking sides and people are negging lmao

  • Can you do this with a 256gb ssd? And windows if possible? If you can I will buy it.

    • I hope so, I'll buy it too if it can be done.

      • +7

        His prob gone home now but said above;
Hi, please shoot an email to [email protected]. I will try to work out a quote for you.

  • I emailed sales and got this deal minus the SSD and HD for $1,064.54. Going to reuse my current drives. Great deal, thanks CPL!

  • They have a new deal on same link, looks OK.
Not sure why they don't use an overclockable CPU however, as they include extra cooling and a Z motherboard.

I may be naive, but why are so many gaming PC systems sold with out Windows. Are they all just using a pirated version?

Rep should have a look at this:

I also got a call from them last Friday asking to refund my money without proceed my order.

      I'm Lucky then :(
