      It's ironic because wordpress was made to simplify blogs for people who didn't know web design, smartass.

        I've been using WordPress for ~9 years now, and it is getting so powerful (and subsequently, complicated) these days it's far from "simple blogs". People who are just looking for blogging should probably seek alternatives.

  Does this course cover emailing your hosting provider to ask them to un-suspend your Wordpress blog because it's been compromised and used for phishing?

    No, but it does cover security very briefly (1 min 4 seconds!)

    • update WP and plugins at least every 3 months
    • use secure/strong passwords
    • create regular (preferably automated) offsite backups of the site, so a hacked site can be restored quickly

    This course is very basic, although I did pick up a couple of minor things I didnt know. It is a "soft sales pitch" for the authors subscription website.
