Social Networking Sites?

[X]

One question — anyone using any “social networking sites” out there? For example,

  • Bebo
  • Facebook
  • Friendster
  • MySpace
  • etc…

Personally I have half a dozen social networking site accounts when I got invited by my “real life” friends, but over the last 6 months I have only been using Facebook.

Although OzBargain is branded as a “social bargain site”, I don’t know whether there is anything “social” about it. Do you think it would be worthwhile to have a presence on a social networking site so the keen bean cheapos can get to know each other?

Well, I do have a Friendster account that I’m involved in actively since it is where most of my friends are registered. I might do Facebook once more friends are registered in there.

But the development of Ozbargain in Facebook is a really good idea Scott! :)

Friendster is pretty big in SE Asia I think, although the most popular one in Australia is now either Facebook or Bebo. Facebook is the only one that provides third party app platform at the moment. Well, until Yahoo Mash comes along…

All are EVIL and are infested by emos.

I currently check my myspace every 1 or 2 weeks. I might have to have a facebook if more friends move there.

Myspace (not as often as I used to).

Facebook - Not really these days.

LinkedIN etc- Always (Business Networking Sites)

Yeah I think I found you on LinkedIn. Great achievement you have got there at such a young age! I too use LinkedIn for colleagues and head hunters (they can somehow find you on LinkedIn, and call your work place directly trying to pinch you!) but it is not something I’ll use for “friends” :)
