7.2mb Telstra and 3 Mega 3G USB Modem only $149.95 Outright or $238.95 with Router and Config
[Rep] broadbandgear on 03/07/2009 - 17:14 (www.broadbandgear.com.au)

Sierra 885 7.2mb 3G USB modem for $149.95 or Bundle with a Netgear MBR624GU router and config for $238.95. This is cheaper with the router than Telstra are selling the modem.

This modem is unlocked, although can only be used on Telstra or 3 due to frequency.

Post for $8.91 for modem only.

Note: I am a rep for the site.

Coming soon Voda/Optus and reseller modems. we have expression of interest for these ones.

If it is unlocked then it can used on optus and virgin etc with the exception of some country areas where 900mhz is used.
Same with vodafone. Spec say triband 850/1900/2100

Yep, Optus in metro areas uses WCDMA 2100MHz, so it SHOULD work for you if you mostly use your mobile broadband there.

The difference will be with rural/remote areas, where Telstra uses 850MHz and Optus uses 900MHz.

So this modem would not be useful for you if you are not with Telstra/3 and plan to travel around outside of metro areas a lot.

But otherwise, this is a pretty good deal, especially the bundle option.
