From my quick sample of goods and holiday vouchers available at the Frequent Flyer store, a spend of $200 will get you enough points for $2.50 worth of stuff, the extra points accounting for up to $1.25.

14 positives for an effective saving of not 30%, 15% or even 5%, but 0.6%. What a bunch of savvy consumers we are!

    • LOL - thanks for doing the maths for me Jabba. That is pretty funny when you look at it…

    • It depends on how you spend it - The best way to spend Qantas FF points in on their upgrade to business class. Cashing it for Goods is certainly not a good idea.

    • A savy person realises that everyday rewards with frequent flyers costs them nothing so even if it does take a year to get a $60 magazine subscription its not that hard to scan a card when they do there weekly shop.

    No deal

  • Agreed… This is not a bargain… Not even close…

Its extra points for something you were going to buy anyway for no extra cost. So its only a small percentage on the total, but it is 100% more points then you would normally get.

    • True…is it worth being on ozbargain though? :D

The period is only for 3-4 days…if it was longer I guess it would be warranted.

Nevertheless, it appears as the positive votes are still growing so looks like it will beneficial to some.

      Cheers

    A good offer.

It's something that you would normally buy anyway.

  • This Sunday was my grocery day anyway.
Points gained for doing nothing out of the ordinary?
    That's a positive for me.

Over the past few years of normal spending using an Amex platinum (when the points where convertable to FF points) I've earnt - 2 return trips to Germany with stop over in Singapore, 1 return trip to singapore, 1 return trip to bali and $3,000 in freedom furniture vouchers.

For doing NOTHING out of the ordinary - any bonus top to point schemes is a winner in my book.

Combine these bonus points (hey only if its just 1 point per $1 when the promo runs out) with your ANZ Qantas Visa platinum, hold your points - and wait for specials in the FF store and I can't see how anyone could knock this deal.

Certain credit cards reward you with Qantas Frequent Flyer points as their reward system.
The link above will tell you want cards do this.
Other cards may use their own reward system.

All the QFF linked cards earn points QFF points for every dollar you earn.
So if you use that QFF card to buy groceries, you'll earn QFF points for however much you spend.
Then you add in your Woolworths Everyday Rewards card, and you'll earn MORE QFF points on top of what you've already earned. Qantas themselves call it 'double dipping'

And there are plenty of specials that come around where you can do this.
