We have Coles Express carwash’s in Melbourne and they use a soft rubber
cloth in the carwash, agree stay away from the nylon brush’s

anyone know if these automated washes will damage your car’s paint job? i recently got my car, so i don’t want to be damaging the paint.

on the voucher it says “a safe, scratch free wash, guaranteed!”

If I were you, I wouldn’t use automated washing machine, no matter what they say. I mean just in case of a brandnew car.

Are the car wash open the same hours as the pumps? the carlton coles opens till 10pm but i dont know if the carwash will be.

My trick is to keep an eBay saved search for toners for my old laser printer under $30. Now I’ve got so many spare toners and some for only $10 rather than $110… and each is meant to do 3000 odd pages

Can you print in black and white or does it have to be colour?

Black and white is fine.

I used this last time and whilst it washed pretty good, it didnt dry nicely and left some water spots.

The local one I went to issued a ticket that says it’s valid for 30 days. You could buy a few tickets on 13 September but still use them into October… Good find.

Yup I just bought one and its valid for 30 days. If you buy two you can get it valid for 60 days.

Got mine washed @ the local Parra one this arvo - pretty decent although getting in was a tight squeeze, and mine’s a small car. Definitely worth the $5, would probably cost more doing it yourself with the water + labour haha

I just tried this at the Five Dock branch - they refused to honour it because it was in black and white. They said it has to be “original” and “colour”. Presumably if I print it again in colour it should work. Very annoyed.

Coles Express at Five Dock wouldn’t accept my photocopied voucher.

Friggin Coles. They said that I needed original that would be dent to me once i emailed my request for the voucher.

i have a feeling that Coles express five dock has no clue abt the kmart offer. they havent updated their systems. there is another coles voucher that is been sent in the mail. they think its a coles voucher. Jst fill in the online complaint form and give it a few days

Mention that it is from KTAS (Kmart) not Coles.

I had no problems using it just now. $5 is a good price. But then I don’t think it’s worth the original price

Worked for me in Brunswick (VIC) but I have to say that it wasn’t a great car wash at all. Lots of soap marks left on the windscreen and the alloys not cleaned properly. But I suppose for $5 it was just ok but def not at the original price.

probably not when you can actually get humans to wash it for $18

I spoke to Coles Express customer service and they resolved the issue with the douche bags at Five Dock. They said they should now accept the vouchers!

ok just received a mail from customer service saying that they have informed five dock and have asked me to return with the voucher

I went to the five dock one last night and the dude stalled for ages (flicking through folders and stuff), then finally said “sorry, bad luck the car wash machine is broken”

pretty annoyed. looks like they’re doing everything they can to avoid honouring this deal.

Tell him unless the machine’s going to be broken for 30 days you still want your ticket. It is valid for 30 days.

good tip, i didnt realise it was just a ticket which you can use later on…i thought it needed to be used on the spot.

I used the voucher yesterday. I must say, it really was a great wash - underbody and wheels included! My car come out sparkling clean. I used to think automatic car washes were not that great, but this was even better than my normal hand wash job! Will definitely be using this again.

Voucher worked at Carlton…left a few marks but for 5 bucks I’m don’t mind…

Got it done in Brunswick. The cashier looked at the printed voucher for a while before accepting the transaction.

It won’t leave your car as clean as a hand wash, but for $5, it does a good enough job. Rims with wide openings/spokes will come out clean only on the face.

Well I’ve bought a couple of washes now and also will be buying some on the last day since they last 60 days. Good deal for a A$5 car wash.

Correct. You’re purchasing a voucher. On the voucher, there’s a code you type in at the car wash when you’re ready. Sort of like a mobile recharge voucher.

This was a great deal, but did you see the line up’s it was insane!!!

Did one car today (paid for voucher before expiry giving us another 30 days to use it) and really not overly impressed. Wheels not that clean and some stains still on car. Obviously the mirror glass and the section of window adjacent doesn’t get a wash as they recommemd folding the mirrors in. The car wash I used (Bayswater Vic) didn’t look too high tech.
