  • How much is it normally ?

  • Have a look at DSE's non ebay site. Over $60 but static ice shows around $35.

    Thank you. Got one

  • It's not a very good mouse for macbook

    • -4

      Who uses MacBook these days…

    • +1

      Care to elaborate?

      • +1

        it has 2 buttons…

      • It isn't very responsive and it has laggy scrolling. The mouse also feels cheap and clicky with plastic that shows up finger prints easily.

Honestly $15 should be it's usual price.

        • Typical Mac owner expecting flawless devices :-P Is it only like that on Macs?

          Edit: saw the response below

          @Jackson:

I bought this macbook 2 weeks ago. I am definitely not an Apple nut, the OS seems so backwards.

This mouse isn't so flash though!

        • @trumpedup: wait still you start making trackpad gestures in your sleep

        • @muncan:

perhaps… but atm I'm having nightmares about how unintuitive the OS is. Simple things like scrolling through pics is made much more complicated.

    • Just bought one for my macbook!

      • Bad move.

        • Can't be much worse than Apple's Magic Mouse, which I promptly returned.

        • @muncan:

Probably not but I've been using the touch pad instead of the mouse as it is pretty crappy.

Let us know how you go!!

        • @trumpedup: I traded the Magic Mouse sideways for a Magic Touchpad, hoping a ~$15 bt mouse will be more ergonomic.

It looks 99% same as the bluetooth mouse by logitech (M557). Not sure if Setpoint can detect it or not.

  • Would this mouse be good for gaming?

    • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

      No.

      The lag would be horrendous.

      • +2

        You have this mouse?

        • Yep. For casual gaming, maybe. But I find all Bluetooth mice including this one have more lag than most other mice.
For any serious gaming, I've found a corded mouse is the most rock solid way to go.

  • Did the same as you, OP. Bought it for my incoming Slate :)

    • thats if we get the slate….people already reporting their orders have been cancelled…go to that deal to follow progress…

      • Oh no! I was really looking forward to it… If I get a cancellation call/email, I'm going to be seriously bummed.

        • Same….fingers crossed.

  • thanks!

  • What type of battery does it take?
Does it use blue or red LED?

  • Why are good ergonomic BT mice hard to find?

Why does everyone insist on continuing to make crappy mice with additional USB dongle to waste valuable USB ports…very annoying. All mice should be BT.

    • It's cheaper. And I'd say most mice are used with desktops which don't have Bluetooth, so a receiver is needed anyway.

    • All mice should be BT.

I prefer corded. Keeps me from losing it…

      • +2

Wireless mice are overrated. I can honestly say the cord has never posed a problem except when I needed to use the mouse further away than where the cord allowed me to be, apart from that I don't know why people want to mess with batteries, lag, poor resolutions (at least with early ones), and charging (for those that are rechargeable) blah blah

        • Blame marketing.

In my case, my monitor is a TV and my desk is a couch. Wireless, FTW.
Also; more excuses to buy Eneloops!

          LMAO

          Respectfully disagree.

I have made the switch to be 100% mobile almost a decade ago (ie. no desktop computer) and my first laptop (I bought it for uni) came with a corded miniature mouse. It was not a bad mouse if a little small for my big hands, bit I used it for the life of the laptop. It was good because it had a cord that was only 30-40cm long. It was specifically designed to go with a laptop, and was quite a neat solution, back, before wireless mice were ubiquitous.

I could not imagine using a regular corded mouse with a laptop with all that excess chord. I am not at uni any more, but sometimes I take my laptop into the living room or even to a friend's house or whatever, and it is so much cleaner not to have a chord. Slimline dongle usually stays plugged in, and I just chuck the laptop and mouse in my bag.

I have been using a Microsoft wireless mouse, and have really enjoyed it, but my previous laptop and my new one now ($214 special from JB, thanks OzB), both have only had two USB ports. This can be frustrating, especially when I have two of my external HDDs connected. I need to then use the trackpad.

I have been looking for a BT mouse to solve this issue, but none look like they would be as good as this MS one. The flat design of this one really puts me off.

Overall though, I am not a gamer, so the performance of the mouse is indistinguishable from a chorded one. And without even looking, or realising that I've done it, I am in the habit of picking up the mouse when I am finished with the computer and flicking the off switch, so battery life is very good, even on dirt cheap alkaline cells.

  • bought this one last week and got a call from dicksmith saying they are out of stock :(

  • does anyone know the driver for this mouse? can't seem to get the side scrolling to work Win 7.

  • called from dick smith, saying they over sold the item

  • Just pick up mine, pretty good mouse, especially how amaze I can use it on my Samsung Tab S 8.4!

    • It'd probably work better if you used a mouse pad

      • Yeah I have one, all good

  • +1

Picked mine up. Right mouse button doesn't work. Looked very average.Back it goes.

    Liked the windows button however.
