Amaysim 5GB Unlimited RECHARGE Voucher $17.90 (Save $25) When You Buy a $2 SIM @ Coles

840

Saw this in the Coles catalog at work. Cheap was to stack up on cheap recharge vouchers.

Since you get a REAL recharge voucher, technically it will cost you $19.90 (as you have to buy the $2 sim to qualify) but still better than paying $45

It may be limited to one per person per visit, but nothing stopping you from getting one per day or more

If you want a BONUS $10 credit for new signups follow these steps:

  • Click on my referral link http://amaysi.ms/r/KwbWMrHd
  • If you want to activate the $2 SIM, towards the end of the page , click the link highlighted in orange that says "Activate your SIM and you’ll be ready to rock ‘n’ roll in no time"
  • And proceed to checkout, remember you have to checkout with your credit card (even with zero payment) to qualify for the $10 referral credit.
You can then login your account, and change payment to vouchers or direct debit to remove your credit card info

You can also signup with the current promo's with $10 referral credit and use the recharge voucher to add an unlimited plan to your sim card.

EDIT 1: If the self service has no sim packs left, here is the AMAYSIM $2 SIM PACK Barcode. Scan at self checkout and them choose the $45 recharge Voucher. You will be charged $19.90 in total. Reference

EDIT 2: You can purchase multiple SIM pack with Multiple vouchers i.e. At self checkout scan 1 sim pack per 1 voucher multiple times in one transaction. You will be charged $19.90 per sim/voucher

Define "recurring recharge" please. Are you saying these can be used for recharging an existing service?

    • With amaysim, as long as accounts are in the same name, you can transfer the credit

      • How does this process work in practice? Can I buy 12 of these and use for the next year, moving credit across all in one go or month by month?

        • I would say a month at a time so they don't catch up on you.

You call or chat with them and ask to transfer credit and cancel the account

      • Can anybody confirm this, as I can't see this in the T&C's. The only thing I can find is this:

"Airtime Credit can generally not be transferred between amaysim SIM Cards. However,
if your amaysim SIM Card islost orstolen, your Airtime Credit can be transferred
to a replacement amaysim SIM Card."

But I've got no idea what "airtime credit" is.

        • I've done it multiple times. My friend did it last Friday

        • +5

I tried to transfer credit between Amaysim prepaid accounts before a credit expiry via their online chat and they would not do it. I lost over $20 in credit so I wasn't happy.

      • Edit - Ditto bargain_knight

    You WORK???

    • +15

2 jobs now or 3 if u want to include ozbargain (I.e consider bargain hunting a job)

  • +3

And now that it's been OzBargained they will close the loop hole so that all that hoarded credit will have worthless recharges.

    • +1

It's not a loop hole. It's more of a courtesy. And it's for their benefit I.e. More sales and revenue so don't see them stopping this

  • +2

Everyone disregard the discussion above. Looking at the catalogue again you get an actual recharge voucher. They may limit it to one per customer per visit, but come on, this is ozbargain and we know our way around that

    • Are you sure it's an actual recharge voucher? The T&Cs below the offer say it is "for 1st month" which makes me think we would have to use your method of combining credit.

      • yes, because you have to buy a $2 amaysim sim . Then activate the sim and apply the voucher .

        Its common sense :)

        • Well if that is the case then I may well buy a fair few of these :-)

        • +1

          @TheAviator1992:

they will probably wonder why amaysim recharges are so popular all of a sudden !!

        • @easternculture: So we can just apply the recharge voucher on a single sim? dont have to activate and transfer?
Does the voucher have an expiry?
Can you apply the vouchers all at once for 12months?

        • @easternculture:

How long can you sit on a recharge without using it? Does it eventually expire like the SIMs

        • +1

          @berserkk:

as far as im aware, the recharge just puts the value of the recharge on your account. Dont know if its changed since a few years back.

All voucher have an expiry date but i think its 12 months

        • @easternculture:

Actually, I've seen a worker unload 5 boxes of these just yesterday.

  • Any one has tried this out with current using Amaysim number yet? Maybe a trap if they voucher ONLY works when activating a new simcard.

    • +2

      starts Wednesday 27th May

    • +1

highly unlikely. You should get a standard voucher from the coles front desk register

      • How long are the vouchers valid for?

        • should be 12 months, maybe double check at coles service desk

        • It varies, the maximum i ever got was 11 months. Try 1 first if you get 1 with a long enough expiry then get some more, since all the subsequent ones will have exactly the same date, remember you can't ask for a refund on phone recharges

  • This is excellent timing - have stocked up on $1 sims for tablet data.

My phone plan now needs some love… ideally I am going to get 12 months worth and sort myself out for a year of not having to worry. Chances that Amayasim will still be solvent then ?

  • Actually on amaysim website using promo code savebig fetch the same sim at $19.9 too.

    • This deal is for people who want to use the recharge voucher for their existing amaysim sims

  • Unlimitited? Data?

    • 5GB Data, Unlimited talk and text

But amaysim call the plan 5GB Unlimited

  • Good price.

I have never heard of Anysim. Do they have good coverage? Would it be similar to Boost?

    • +2

they use the newest band of Optus 4G Plus Network so the coverage should be better than before

    • +3

Amaysim have been around for ages and have always been decent value whilst having decent customer service. Pretty amazed you haven't heard of them, they're probably the biggest MNVO around.

      • Thanks I will give a try and port. Seems like good price for tablet data too, though still need to find a 4g tablet.

  • If I load this 5G data into an existing Amaysim account, anybody knows how long this 5G data will be valid ? One month or longer than that ?

    • +1

      one month

      • That's a shame. I wanted to buy one 5G voucher and use it to last a couple of months, say 3 months…..

        • Go for the new Groupon 3 months deal now in the newer Deal posted here. That should be a better option for you since you need it for 3 months…

      • Say after a month we decide not to continue this plan anymore and don't want Amaysim debiting us, is there an option to bail out on the plan?

        • It's a month by month plan - so if you don't want the plan after one month, you can close the account :)

  • Ok so a simple question I think that hasn't been simply answered from what I can see.

So you buy a $2 sim and activate with a new number and pay the $17.90 recharge. So you'd have to phone numbers in you name with amaysim.

How do you get the credit across yo your 'main' number?

    • +1

I think you get a recharge voucher with a code on it that you apply to your main number straight away and throw the $2 sim in the bin

      • Oh ok. And so you'd need to be on prepaid right? Would it work on post paid?

        • Not sure, but I know you can change between pre and post paid quite easily on the amaysim website.

        • Cheers. Thanks for that. I'll check it out further.

  • I know they take your ID when you buy a SIM card, is there any sort of consequence to having a lot of sims under your name?

    • Just ASIO watch list or local drug task force.

      • +2

Then ASIO just needs to come to OZB for clues…

        • +1

Since when did we have anything that the ASIO finds useful?
Unless they need more SIM cards to sell drugs?

    • No. They take your ID because it became a requirement by law. If you were committing fraud or setting up simboxes then they'd use this info but there's no "sim limit" that gets you on some kind of list or anything.

    • No one check I bought this via self service and the screen says assistance required when I scan and the lady in Coles uniform came and scan her security card, all good thank you. Just go at their busiest time and use self service when the line is very long. No one cares about id they just want to move the queue.

    • Yeah, I bought a couple both from self serve and normal checkout and neither asked for ID, I thought it was a legal requirement?

  • Anyone know if I buy the $2 sim, I can buy multiple recharge vouchers and still get the discount?

    • I should have try this but I did self service and only selected recharge once with 1 destined for bin new starter $2 Sim.

      • could have just kept it for future use if you ever needed a throwaway mobile number..

  • Is it possible that you don't even have to activate the new $2 sim and can just use the recharge voucher on your existing sim?

    • I too need to know this I'm with amaysim runs out tomorrow. If I buy this with the $2 sim can I just do a normal recharge on current account.

      • +1

I believe the recharge is separate to the starter pack.

        • Therefore should be able to use on current account as a normal recharge?

        • @Regie69: yes, make sure when you are buying they are separate.

        • @eXtremist:sorryyou lost me somewhere. I thought to get the deal you must buy together?

        • @Regie69: yes you buy together, but they should come separate, $2 starter pack and a $19.90 recharge which is comes on a docket.

        • @eXtremist: Cheers. Got ya

  • Hi,

I've just activated my $18pm service with Vaya so just wanted to know if I can get his and port my number across? Also, if I buy 12 of these for the 12 months, do I just apply the voucher on a monthly basis or can I do it in the one go?

    Thanks

EDIT: OK..have been on Live Chat with a rep and was told you cannot apply code more than once as it is only valid for new customers during 1st month.

Can someone else confirm this please?

    • You'll find your answer tomorrow, the mob on live chat is just as clueless as we are

  • Does Amaysim network allow data tethering on iphone? My current optus network doesn't allow that.

  • -2

Just tried to buy at Coles…..

    No deal.

    Bought $2 sim. Added $44.90 5hb recharge.

    $46.90

    ?????

  • +1

If I buy say 6 vouchers, can I just redeem them all at once and amaysim deducts 44.90 each month? Or do I have to redeem one each month?

  • lets see what happens tomorrow

  • Not long to go now to test this one.

  • +3

    hi There,
i just bought voucher and simcard for $19.90, and the voucher expired 02/05/2016 ( almost 1 year )
i think you can buy more than 1 and redeem every month. sounds good deal for me
    http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii22/syaihan_2005/2015052…

    • sounds good. Let the fun begin

      • thanks OP

    • So if I buy 11 of these offers it'll cost $218.90. Normally 11 months would work out to be $493.90. That's a saving of $275. Happy days.

  • Any ideas whether we can buy more than one recharge in one transaction and still get the discount?

Or need to put them through seperately ?

    • I bought two in one transaction at Coles in Springvale this morning. I think it depends on the person at the counter.

      • Have you tried activating both at once?

        • I will attempt to port mine and my other half's over to amaysim tomorrow and will activate both.

      • Two sims and two vouchers in one transaction? Or one sim and two vouchers?

  • +1

OK…I have had another online chat with a rep today and was told the vouchers do stack. So based on this, if you purchase a $2 sim and say 12 vouchers (not confirmed if possible to buy multiple vouchers in a single transaction yet) you could activate all at once and have 12 months service.
