  • Is it like mygroceries ?

Whichever has an android app first will be the one I use :D

  • +2

Good idea but the mobile site needs some work. Not really usable if I have to scroll left/right constantly.

Thanks for the feedback - try now. Is it better?

  • Are the Jamie Oliver Steak Knives any good?

    • +1

Steak Knives are, not Jamie Oliver.

Looking through the woollies catalog I saw a surprising number of items that hit my "stock up" reflex.
They have been talking about lower prices in the media, I think it is coming through.

    • Yep I noticed that too. They chose their specials well this week and they've even dropped some of the prices below 'normal special' prices.

A sign of things to come :)

    • How come lower prices are coming?

Is the ACCC gnashing it's teeth again? I'd be surprised if prices dropped much with the current ACCC guy (forget name) leaving … I think we can probably bank on someone nowhere near as effective replacing him.

I predict we will see some big changes at Woolworths, starting with lower prices. They are falling behind Coles in almost all aspects so must change things up… actually it's already started with the CEO's resignation

        • Perfect timing! Just moved to an area with woollies only, and I reallly miss Coles now!

I also drive past a Masters often too, and notice how dead it is compared to bunnings, even though inside looks pretty awesome.

Yep, the outgoing CEO's game plan was to make service a point of difference with WW, not prices. Thing is, people clearly care more about the cost than the service (and was it really that much better?) because they were losing big time to Coles and Aldi (with Lidl on the way).

The first thing I noticed is that they are not throwing out the vast amounts of returns from online orders. I had to give some milk back to the driver on Monday, anything returns would previously have been thrown out (not even given to an organisation like FareShare), I asked him if it would be thrown out and he said no, they check the temp now and if it's been maintained correctly it will go back on the shelf. I was always appalled that they threw the food out - we once had a delivery to our very small Melbourne office that was supposed to go to our very large Sydney office of ~$1000 worth of groceries, and ALL of it was going to be thrown out, even the non-perishables.

  • Does the Optus Samsung E3309T for $14.50 come with 3 month netflix?

    • +1

Mine did last week but you need to be quick as i think the redemption time is ending soon?

      • Ah cheers. Any idea when the redemption time ends?

        • According to the optus site 5th of july. I think thats to redeem the voucher they provide, but the voucher has taken up to 2-3 days for me in some cases (claimed 4 times)

        • @frogduck:
I'm pretty sure you have to activate the sim by 5th July - once activated they give a code within 14 days - you have I think until September to claim the code for netflix

        • @alvy:

Ah, alright that may be the case then :) i just remember it saying your netflix voucher expires soon when i received it :S

        • +1

@frogduck: Yeh, as long as you activate your sim before the end of the week you should be fine.

I, for example - activated my netflix codes straight away, to avoid any issues, such as forgetting or whatever the case was, it literally takes like 2 minutes or so.

          good luck =)

    • I am also interested in this.

    • Yes it includes 3 months Netflix. See here

    A new challenger arrives!

  • What about the powerade sports drinks 50% off???

    • +1

This list is sorted by the $ amount so it's missing a lot of 50% off items.

You'd have to click on the site to get that. But the site isn't sorted properly, all the 9% off items are ahead of the 50% ones.

      • I would post a list sorted by discount but then it would duplicate a an earlier post.

The website is already sorted by % savings, but you're right - pressing the headings to sort throws some random rows in front of the actual leaders (stupid tables).

        I'll look into it!

  • Is there a service that can provide alerts when items you define go on sale?

  • +2

    Oooh mygroceries challenger! Delicious!

  • +1

Your site needs a bit more work but I SUPER appreciate that you have all the specials on your site. I don't think mygroceries did that.

    Great source of information there.
    Thanks!

    • You're welcome! :)

Ah - I did see these. But they are only showing 50% or better. Thought it would be worth posting Top $$$ savings too (in the absence of MyGroceries post).
