I’ve never used home delivery in Oz, but I have a question for anyone who has…
Do they always send you the items with a “best before” date that is really short. I used Tesco delivery when in the UK a few times, and every time they would send me stuff that was about to go off within the next 2 days. eg, stuff like bacon, which normally has BB dates up to a month away, they were sending packs of bacon with BB 2 days away! So obviously I stopped using home delivery, as it was so obviously a scam to offload old stock at full RRP. Is it like this in Oz too?

Bascially, the personal shoppers will ensure the longest use by date on the shelf is picked. If you recieve any goods that you think the use by date is too close, call 1800 455 400 and they’ll sort it out for you.

Stumo - we have a “no worries” guarantee that is in place for these type of things as well -

Shame I placed an order last night.
Oh well, at least I get it delivered tomorrow.
Last time there was free delivery the delivery guy was very tardy because so many people ordered.

I’ve bought stuff from both coles and woolies online stores.
In my experience, the cool/frozen stuff from coles was definitely better kept (cooler/less melted).

Shame that coles doesn’t allow you to use their gift cards to pay (unlike woolies).

These free delivery offers are crap when you miss driver.

I chose the 5.30pm - 8.30pm slot, driver came at 5.40pm, I only got home at 5.45pm.

Called the driver (had missed call from him) but he said that he too busy to turn back and I should call the helpline.

Was on hold for 14mins and 55sec, listening to some recording keep apologising for the wait and how they know “Australians dont like waiting”…for almost 15mins I am listening to that crap!!!!

They tell me cause of free deleivery drivers too busy to turn around as normally they would and the helpine is swamped with calls so longer wait times on phone.

Coles should at least plan for the extra orders if they going to offer this deal.
