Might work if you have a US account.

Wow.. thanks!

It appears it’s IP specific, so it remembers if you’ve already redeemed it. Doesn’t stop me from getting friends to redeem it for me too though. /cackle

Doh - I’m getting “Sorry, you have reached the maximum number of redemptions.”

Edit: Prolly due to trying to redeem from work…think we only have 1 external IP, and a shiteload of xbox users : (

The code should be active by the time you reach home.

Gravatar

casey2 on 19/03/2010 - 13:09 ¶

…and I can assume it gives the same code out so that it’s MS’ duty to stop you trying to add more?

D’oh looks like it’s finished. + from me I might have got the last one lol

Tried changing my ip (Exetel allow 30 changes a month), but after that I’m getting “The code you entered is invalid.” hmmm guess one month free will do me.

Gravatar

crikey on 19/03/2010 - 14:23 ¶

That’s odd. Same computer & browser but different IPs (using 2 net connections) worked for me - got 2 codes. Check your IP actually changed by using whatismyip.com. You’ll probably need to restart your modem to trigger a change.

I’m just going to use this once, Microsoft are pretty ruthless with their banhammer.

I got the code as well. And this might be a silly question but I hope one of you knows the answer… Since the contest is open to US residents only, any chance that they’ll ban you for redeeming this code in Australia?

Alright thanks klevster. Gonna redeem my code a little later just to be safe. I just bought a one-year subscription not long ago so I am not in a hurry. Thanks to OP for the great find.

Gravatar

jashjash on 19/03/2010 - 14:32 ¶

they probably won’t ban you if they end up rescinding this offer.

they’ll probably just roll back the free month for people who redeemed this code

I’m gonna go watch Cop Out now. Another Bruce Willis where he’s a cop. I’m gonna love it either way. By the time I get back, I foresee that this deal will have almost a 100 votes. Lots of gamers on Ozbargain. All the good gaming deals are always popular.

Worked for me as well.

Gravatar

Iggsy81 on 19/03/2010 - 14:19 ¶

Yeah worked here. I’m a little weary though.. the guy above is right.. MS are quite strict with their banning protocols so hopefully this is ok. It’s not so much a bargain as a workaround, i dont think MS will be too impressed. Then again its only 1 month and you often get 1 month free with a game or something, etc so no big deal really.

Gravatar

jashjash on 19/03/2010 - 14:33 ¶

MS might even be in on it.

Imagine you’ve never used it before. You use it for a month, you have fun, and woops, you want to continue using it to keep playing online games… so you buy another month…

EDIT: I guess it’s when people start stacking on months, e.g. getting 9, or 10 months free instead of just the 1, that’s more likely to annoy NetFlix/Microsoft

Gravatar

ragflan on 19/03/2010 - 14:38 ¶

Yeah that’s an inevitability with Ozbargainers. I’m sure there’s a lot of people here that are doing that already.

Gravatar

ragflan on 19/03/2010 - 14:45 ¶

Try a different browser or something. My friend just used it and it worked fine…

Gravatar

thomas1987 on 19/03/2010 - 16:03 ¶

I also tried entering it on the console, it says invalid :S

EDIT

It works now. It didn’t work before because I entered the code into the add msp points section instead of the redeem code section

with a million months free PSN

haha, i kid,

it doesn’t apply to me but sweet deal anyway

Gravatar

ragflan on 19/03/2010 - 14:51 ¶

Hahaha. Yeah but PSN’s got rumours of a premium membership as well. But yeah, PSN is awesome. Not nearly as much content as on the XBL though. But it really depends on which content you want. I personally love my PS3 as well, but anything free from Microsoft is always a good deal in terms of XBL.

Gravatar

Iggsy81 on 19/03/2010 - 15:53 ¶

I like PSHome.. i wish XBL had something like that!
