It would probably be better for everyone all around if they just seceded

    • +2

      Succeeded in what?

      • +4

        Reading perhaps.

        • +4

          Raiding who?
God there's a lot of weirdo's around today.

  • do images on phones work at the self-checkout scanners or do you need to print out?

    • +2

it depends on the type of scanner they use.

    • You can always type the numbers manually.

      • Do you need staff to do it?

    • I've never had any luck with Woolies. I have a rewards card app, that scans all your barcodes. Works for Coles and others - but Woolies barcode scanners won't read my screen. Tried different brightness too, no luck.

      • It comes down to what laser barcode scanner they are using, it appears they still have not upgraded to support mobilce creens

        • +1

Considering the self service POS still run on Windows 95,i doubt they're concerned about me scanning my phone :P

  • Will opal card recharge work? Or will it be captured under "travel card"?

  • I assume opal recharge is ok to get $10 rewards

    • I had a targeted "Spend $40 get $5" offer recently and it didn't get the $5 when I topped up my Opal. Previous offers have got the reward, but this time it had "travel card" in the T&Cs and looks like they are actually enforcing it.

  • +1

Online TAS orders might still receive the bonus….I have in the past.

  • +1

Hi, can you please tell how you obtained the voucher? For example, with petrol purchase? certain spend in store? Thanks.

    • +1

They were handing out the voucher in-store, and no purchase was necessary to get the voucher.

  • Do it work if I purchase gift card?

    • +5

      @windwai

Nope only to purchase new Specs ;)

      • +1

I feel so dump by not reading lol

        • Haha don't be so smelly.. Have a shower :)

  • +1

Cue outrage from Tasmanians who feel they are once again getting ripped off.

    • tasmanian's are real people too!

      • Can you do a ELI5 for me on this please?

        • +14

Most of the time, when mummy and daddy love each other they will have babies.

But in Tasmania, sometimes mummy will also love uncle barry, or daddy will love auntie sheila, and they will also have babies.

These babies are just like you and me, except instead of one they will sometimes have two or three heads.

Some people are meanies saying they are not ‘real people’. They are right though

        • @johnn:

Nah its because we have the frequent shopper card that I believe the mainlanders don't have. We'd probably prefer the rewards card though,

I got a $100 on my reward card when I opted to get the S7 edge deal, was goonna use it when I go interstate next week, found out I could use it online! PLUS!

  • "infant formula" is excluded. I haven't seen that in the exclusions lists before. The rest of the exclusions are usually there.

    • There's a blackmarket for exporting formula to China.

Chinese demand for milk formula has been increasing since 2008 after a melamine contamination in local supply killed six infants and caused around 100,000 to fall ill. via

      • +2

I'm aware of the Chinese issue and I figured it was related to this but it's a real pity that Australian families who use infant formula are now even more affected by the situation. A lot of families are not going to read the exclusion list for new entries and won't get the discount which isn't really fair.

        • Stock up on nappies and baby wipes, plenty of money to blow on babies at Woolies.

  • The voucher looks similar to the ones that occasionally get handed out at Woolworths Petrol outlets. They usually hand them out shortly before the valid dates of the coupon.

  • Just out of curiosity, why does Woolworths always exclude Tasmania from Woolworths rewards? I might be moving there soon for work.

    • +3

Woolworths purchased another supermarket chain in Tasmania which I think was caled Purity. Part of the conditions of the sale was that Woolworths had to maintain the existing loyalty program called the Frequent Shoppers Club for a certain number of years. I don't know for how long.

This club sometimes runs general promotions but I don't know if they have a targeted offers system like Woolworths rewards. The FSC has a guaranteed amount of rewards per transaction, unlike the current Woolworths rewards where you might get lots of rewards or you might get nothing.

      • I've been wondering about this, wtf is this shopper card you get asked at woollies and co. No, I don't have one and don't want one. (Running all the way to Coles)

        • +2

Where they ask you if you have Flybuys! :)

        • +1

I will never say no to and additional 1% discount on my groceries

      • I believe it's about $20 for every $2000 unless that's changed. At least they still do double points day.

  • Will Opal card recharge using e-Gift card at Woolies qualify for this?

    • Opal is a travel card. Travel cards are excluded from this promotion.

      • Smart blocking to avoid any loopholes!

  • Totally skipped over the date it starts and did a $185 shop last night with the barcode and was corrected of the date by a 17 year old boy! Lol

    • +1

thanks for pointing it out. i missed it too

  • tried to scan the barcode this morning and it didnt work.. anyone else try yet?

    • I used this code at woolworths online 8/8.
      It has been accept.

  • "Barcode declined" error on self serve when trying to use it in store.

Would this have anything to do with the bit in the bottom corner that says "VIC"? Anyone know where to find the appropriate bar code for other states?

  • +1

I picked up an original coupon at the petrol station today. I should be able to use it before it expires.

  • if anyone gets a NSW voucher, can you please upload it! thanks

  • i just got an email with the online code, so it should work online

  • Only able to be used ONCE online….bummer!

  • +1

I picked up a voucher at Oakleigh VIC, the barcode is 9348593002898 if anyone wants to manually enter into self checkout (apparently not valid if photocopied), valid until Saturday 21.

    • +2

How do you manually enter a barcode on a self serve checkout?

  • Barcode didn't work in Revesby, NSW. Store staff did not know about this voucher offer either.

  • I used the code for my online shop tonight and although it said the code was accepted I don't see any $10 reward in my account. How long does it take to show up? Would much rather just get $10 off my shop instantly….Coles Flybuys reward system is miles ahead IMHO.

    • +1

for me, the points showed up after collection and were redeemable at midnight after collection (next day)

      • OK thanks mtg, I will check again after I pick up tonight.
