        Cheaper to get some kind of strap for holding your phone to jog with.
        Should always have your phone in case of emergency, in my opinion.

      When I go for a run, my iPod shuffle, GPS watch, and drivers license in my back pocket combined are no where near the weight of something that might actually play music like a Lumia 530. I can't see why someone would run with a big phone strapped to their arm but I guess it's horses for courses.

      The annoying thing about phone is touch screen interface.

      Every time you want to FF/RW or skip a track, you have to pull it out, unlock the screen, then access the controls, then put it back in your pocket/armstrap.

      That's a lot of hassle as opposed to just pressing a button.

    Good price for the walkman, I was recently comparing it to the iPod shuffle for a workout music player. Ended up buying the shuffle at the time as it was slightly cheaper with no sales but it has it's limitations. I would have been happy with the Walkman for this price! Hmmm I still have a mini disc player somewhere, most expensive music device ever!!

    Good find on the NWZA25HN Walkman units.

    I bought the previous generation model (NWZ-A15) from eGlobal for $220 delivered last year. If you don't want the yellow one, these might be worth considering.

    The A25's notable upgrades include:
    - comes bundled with noise cancelling earphones
    - supports new LDAC wireless protocol (The older one used aptX which was quite susceptible to interference, not sure about this new one)

        My time with the X1 and X3 was quite limited (only listened to these at an audio expo, with someone else's headphones and their lossless tracks).

        I feel the A15 had a warmer sound to it compared to the X1 and X3. I'd say the A15 was more 'fun' to listen to for casual listening. But I was really surprised with the clarity of the X1 given its price though - there was a lot of detail in the tracks that I wasn't expecting. I think it really depends on the style of music you listen to.

    I have heard the NW-A25 does not come with noise cancellation headphone while the NW-A26 does. Is this true? The yellow model looks more like green to me. I am colour blind?

    May seem like a dumb question, but is there a way to get Spotify to work with this? or maybe is there a way to sync spotify with windows media player so I can import the music (indirectly) from spotify to this player?

      If you are referring to the NW-A25, the answer is no.

      Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only Sony players that support this are the ones running Android (i.e. ZX2). It's in a different league though (RRP $1600)

        I was referring to NWZB183FL (the $35 one). I think one of the way to upload music to it is via Windows Media Player, so if there is a way to sync WMP with spotify then I should be able to "Sync" my spotify with it right?

    Thought of getting the yellow model, then sense came over me.

    • It's doesn't appear to be special.
    • It doesn't have a removable battery (as far as I can tell). As it ages, you know what will happen there.
    • MicroSD is good, but Sony don't seem too proud to show off this fact (easily missed if not looking). Bad marketing.
    • the unit wastes precious space on those hideously large controls and then goes the opposite way with those small buttons next to the screen. Then tops it off with a small screen with laughable resolution.
    • Sound might be great (who knows) but so are my Sony Hi-MD players and Sony PCM recorder (and even Sony discman).

    Simply not worthwhile, in the end. Perhaps salvageable by the noise-cancelling headphones, but not for me.

    PS. Incidentally the way Sony lays out the data (specs) on its website is shamefully careless. The least I would have expected would be to have spaces between the file formats it supports. Instructions seem to be low-detail too. The old Sony seems to be well-and-truly gone. The 'B' model also basically has no proper sales info on the page. Shameful..

      I agreed with you here. I have managed to pick up a few mistakes in the detail. I have been in chat with Sony and the staff is uncertain whether the yellow model came with the included ear phone. I believe the HN version does.

    I have the B series walkman. It's great for travel and exercise. Used to come with a clip which was really handy. Best thing is the quick charge feature. Also doubles as a usb drive. A hand powered wind up torch can charge it within a few minutes.

    The NWA25 does not come with headphones, by default, unless sony is offering them for free. The sound is great (I have the NWA26HN, bought for same price in Malaysia, 6 months back). Would definitely recommend it for Audiophiles. The best part is the microsd support. I have a few 200GB microsd cards which contain my entire collection.

      Definitely. And a MicroSD slot (and removable battery). I'd pay $150 for a small unit like this from Sony today. A nice small unit without a large screen that can be taken virtually anywhere and have its battery replaced or swapped when needed easily and isn't limited by this laughable amount of storage space. Bonus points if waterproof.

          I'm in the "support loop" where you speak to someone in another country who knows nothing and cant really help you then you make the mistake of mentioning ozbargain and then they get upset and say if you bought it from them you will need to speak with them.

          Long story short ive been charged for it and am waiting on an email back from "Support".

    Got my NW-a26 today. The noise cancellation is excellent. I have tested it out in my open top roaster and I could only hear occasional wind noise flowing across my ears. I could not hear the other vehicles or engine noise. It was a very strange sensation or less of it. The included earphones is great. I could not hear my mechanic keyboard while I am typing this and listening the music.

      Didn't order one of those but the DAB radio.
      Never got any email confirmations at all, even after sign up as a member for the free shipping.
      Was charged on my CC the same day I ordered the item (Thurs), contacted them Monday (via online chat support) who didn't do anything but tell me to contact Ozbargain (because i made the stupid mistake of mentioning where i found the deal) and I didn't hear back from them, tried calling the Sony Kiosk to see who to call (if they could direct me or give me a number), that phone number rang out.
      Called the support line Tuesday and got hold of someone who created an online ticket for me, said the store is awaiting confirmation of payment (already paid) and would get back to me.
      I provided CC statement line and stuff to them and they are looking in to it.

      Over all I am quite displeased at the response times, turn around and lack of communication from such a name brand.
      Complete ball drop so far.

          They claim to be waiting for the Sony Store to get back to them, the same store the phone rings out on maybe?

    I too ordered a NWA25Y last Thursday and received no update on my order. I talked with their online support this morning and they informed me that my order has been placed under 'Back Order' due to availability of stock. When asked on an ETA for more stock they simply had no answer. So I kindly asked if they could possibly swap my particular model for another color that was in stock. The rep put the request through, but ultimately I would be notified on the approval of the request in the upcoming days.

    If anyone's interested in purchasing A25 Walkman. I just got a price match ($167) on a Black unit at the Parramatta (NSW) Kiosk. There is still 1 Black and 2 Pink units on display.

    Conversely, Chatswood Kiosk was happy to price match on any colour when I called them earlier this week. Track work prevented me going to Chatswood today!

      I talked with online support and asked if I could swap the yellow version for the black one that they had in stock. I just got the email saying my request was approved, so maybe you could try your luck with their online support.

    So two weeks after ordering my item has not moved from Not Shipped.
    Missed a call yesterday which turned in to an email saying
    "Our accounts team has detected fraudulent activity on this order that is why it was rejected. It appears the IP address of the computer used to make this transaction is not in Australia but overseas."

    It didn't show as rejected in their online system where I check my order, they also didn't contact me about this yet the charge is still on my credit card.
    They had not gotten back to me with anything useful in the last two weeks about this, I have been chasing it every second day.
    They have all my details etc and could have tried to contact me but didn't.

    Ordered while at work and we VPN through the USA which isn't that uncommon.

    This is honestly really shitty service from Sony, I am very disappointed.

    I wasn't expecting this many people having the same issue. My 4GB Walkman hasn't been shipped yet and it's on back order. I have to ring them to find out. I expect better service from Sony. There's just not enough stock for a clearance sale.

    Worst online purchase to date.

    Will avoid purchasing anything from them in the future.
