  • Excellent mouse but too bad bluetooth is flakey on Mac :/ I have to use the USB receiver instead. Also the ratcheting mechanism on my scroll wheel broke after 9 months, but Logitech replaced it for me.

  • +1

I've had mine for 5 months, and the thumb wheel clicks and the thumb button on the padded lip constantly clicks itself. not sure if i just got a dud, but definitely not the quality i expected.

    • I bought from PC Byte online. I had to send it back on the fifth day because of the faulty scroll wheel. It seems to be a very common problem if you search "MX Master scroll wheel".

    • Well contact Logitech, they will organised you a replacement. No big deal.

If you have The Good Guys $25 store credit , couple with $20 off $100+ Spend @ The Good Guys

Logitech MX Master Wireless Mouse $96

    and throw in a pack of battery seems a better deal. i.e. $101 - $25 -$20 = $56

Be quick, deal end at midnight tonight (27 Sept).

Thanks mate, this is actually such a good idea if you have a $25 voucher lying around. Saves me money and the time of having to wait for delivery!

Logitech produce shit mice. I've gone through 3 M950's.

    • I've had the same one for 5-6 years, so…

    • Mine are working fine. Used for 5+ years

    • I would concur for the first Logitech mouse I bought. But my M950 lasted me 5 years also.

      • Have to agree with tren, LT used to make great mice but seem to have gone to cheaper quality parts. I'm on my 4th G602 in under 2 years as the middle-click button keeps failing. I've already had the original 2 replaced under warranty so I don't know what's going to happen if these ones fail as well. Was looking at the MX master but after reading about the failing scroll wheel I'm not too sure. Trouble is what's a good wireless mouse to replace it with?

        • Maybe the G602 is badly made. Doesn't mean all their mice are.

        • @lostn:

Maybe, hence why I asked the question of what to use instead? :)

    • I've had my G9 since 2008 and it's been a champion ever since then.

  • Ratcheting mechanism also broke… Opened it and fixed it myself. Reception was bit lacking. Comfortable in hand… Then I found G900, therefore I am.

    • +1

Is it worth the money? I'm thinking of getting this to replace my main comp mouse and also use it as a laptop mouse. But it's super expensive…

      • +1

I haven't played computer games using mouse and keyboard since xbox 360 controller came out… so the mouse is purely for work.
        Upsides of G900 are:
        -No lag
        -connection is good
-comes with a charge cable that braided but is very soft, so you can still use your mouse while it's being charged
-actually accurate (maybe just a sign of good connection)
        -ambidextrous.
Down side is the price. All in all, completely worth it… never been happier with mouse.

      • It'd be worth it if you're using it with two computers - a simple click of a button on the bottom to switch between up to 3 computers - no messing around pairing each time.

      • Try to test the grip if you can. I have one, not terribly happy with how it feels in hand. It's too flat for my tastes.

  • Very tempting. My M705 is still going strong after several years though!
What sort of battery life are people getting on this?

    • +1

I own two of these mice and they need a charge maybe once a month. Very long battery life :-)

    • +1

I prefer everything about the MX Master except for the battery life, which is abysmal.

M705 at work is still going after two years.
MX Master requires a charge every two weeks.

      • thanks guys! yeah that's what I love about the M705, that stellar battery life!

  • will officeworks price match this?

    • Officeworks doesn't price match coupon codes according to their website

    • +4

Why price match at officework instead of buying from a genuine business trying hard to give you a real deal? Unless you are a tigharse or really need the mouse urgently i see no reason to price match. Is that %5 really worth it when a small business close down because everyone is price matching everything at officework? Anyway, they will not price match it because of coupon and even if they price match it they will add include the shipping price.

      • +2

You know this is OzBargain right?

        • Price match is not a bargain according to ozbargain. You cant post a price match as a deal afaik.

        • @Bnjam3:

And they didn't, someone else mentioned price match. You can also post something that's a bargain and then show the additional price match discount, as long as the original price is a bargain

  • works well. I can get approx 2 weeks without a recharge. The thumb placement for "back" function is a little far back for my liking but I am getting used to it.

Good quality mouse - on the large side, and does the job.

    • Yeah the buttons are too small and positioned one above the other instead of side by side.

    • I couldn't get the horizontal scrolling to work, so used it for back/forward instead of those little buttons.

      • The scrolling works but it's very slow and unresponsive.

As someone with a 16:9 monitor I never found the feature all that useful even if it did work. The use cases for it are people who do photo editing which I don't do. Most other apps and the internet are designed around not needing horizontal scrolling.

I got used to the little buttons though, but I don't use them for back and forth.

  • Well there's one tiny scratch on my mouse right now so might as well buy a new mouse.
Thanks OP, $9.22 shipping to metro Melbourne

  • Pls find me a cheap G502 someone… =/

    • If you really want one then i would suggest you start calling all the officework in your area and check if they have anything left as they are the cheapest one.

  • I also had the scroll wheel issue after about 4 months. Decided to fix it myself instead of dealing with the return process at JB. Wasn't hard to fix just have to make sure you peel the two glued in pads underneath off slowly as they're double layered and the two screws you need to remove are under the pads.

  • The plastic coating on my buttons went smooth after only a few short months, compared to the MX Performance mouse which went a lot longer before the matte finish got worn.

But what I love about this mouse over the MX Master, aside from Bluetooth support is that you can pair it simultaneously with 3 devices and switch between them with the press of a button.

  • +1

If you're interested in a wireless mouse that with plenty of buttons, comfortable, uses AA batteries and has plenty of battery life then check out the logitech g602. I've been using it for about a month now and it is fantastic.

    • +1

As I noted above, the middle-click button is prone to failure, other than that it's a great mouse.

    • Yeah, it's a good mouse. If only they add the side scrolling and hyper scroll to the wheel that will be perfect.

I use my spare G700 at work but the battery life sucks. I have to charge it everyday before I leave work.

      • Sounds like a dying battery. Is it replaceable? One day battery life does not sound right for a mouse.

        • It's replaceable, run on just 1 AA battery (Eneloop). Just haven't gotten around to replacing it. I just got used to charging it at the end of the work day so I just left it as is. But I think when I first got it, it only lasted 3 days per charge so even then it wasn't that good.

When I get a new mouse for home, I just retire the old mouse to work duties. I recently bought a G900 (which is still in the box) so I may take the G602 to work, but at work I prefer a mouse with side scroll and hyper scroll for documents and spreadsheets.

        • @Siuto: Does it have an option to use two AA batteries?

Also, you should rechage a NiMH every day. Let it drain first to prolong its battery life. That might have been what happened to you. Try changing the battery and not recharge it until it's blinking.

  • Anyone have any idea about the MX Anywhere 2? Thinking to buy one to use at uni and when travelling and i see logitech claim it will work on any surface with no issue!

    • Pretty good mouse. Have both the MX Master and MX Anywhere 2 - as they are intended for MX Master perfect for everyday use and MX Anywhere 2 for on the go.

    • Great mouse other than that the connection is flakey same as the MX Master. Also a shame that it doesn't come with a pouch/case like the original MX Anywhere. The original MX Anywhere also suffered from mouse button wear after a while but I haven't had mine long enough to know whether this is/will be an issue.

  • I'm using this mouse for drafting and it doesn't do a good job. Cursor movement is often switching between fast and slow, sometimes very sensitive, sometimes not. That's the biggest problem with this mouse to me. Haven't had problem with the scrolling wheel just yet

    • That's not normal behaviour (with any mouse). Are you using a mousepad?

    • Sounds like radio interference, which this mouse is known for.

Try switching from USB dongle to Bluetooth or vice versa and see if it's any better. Another solution others have tried is attaching the USB dongle to a USB hub/extension and putting it far away from the computer (and presumably closer to the mouse).

  • can the same USB transmitter be hooked to another wireless keyboard?

    • +1

The USB receiver can be connected to multiple devices.

And the mouse can be paired with upto 3 different receivers for use on multiple computers.

  • +2

They also have the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 for $66.30 + Delivery if you need a nice portable mouse.

    • Nice price, however would have been a steal at $54.60 at HN a couple weeks back.

      • Really? Blast missed that one, last time I went into HN they were $129 and I walked right back out :)

    • Oh yes, I totally forgot that , thanks.

Bought 2 one more for my mum.

  • -3

$70 for a mouse? Damn doesn't everyone just borrow them from work?

    • I guess people would if their works bought these types of mice? They are mostly those crappy, white HP ones I see in offices.

Thanks OP. I also got a UPS that I needed.

  • +1

Alright, this has nothing todo with this post but use to be a huge Logitech fan, bought every mouse they released until one day my wrist starting to ache and became unbearable every time I used my mouse. I think I had Carpal tunnel syndrome (wrist inflammation) after decades of using a mouse. Your wrist is not meant to bend at an angle like that for prolong periods of time, apparently it's not natural. So after lots of research, I found the Evoluent mouse (buy from Amazon) and it completely solved my CTS issues. Just putting it out there for anyone who has sore wrists/arm.

  • Thanks OP, ive owned one of these since the day it came out. Perfect mouse, just like the old mx revolution. The gaming series mouses are an awkward shape for me and cause my hand to cramp from "clawing" at it. Id just bought another one so i can take it to work and have a decent mouse for 8 hours every day.
Best feature i find is the mouse wheel. It ratchets to begin with and as you spin it faster it disengages automatically and free spins. When you slow down again to find what you are looking for the ratchet engages again. Good when your searching through code or documents. Its bluetooth as well so you can use it with your laptop without the receiver and as others have said, press a button to immediately change between computers.

One thing worth noting, the usb cable is for charging only. This is a wireless only mouse.

  • I had dsuccessfully price beat in officework and happy to having now thanks for sharing
