Good first post OP. Don't worry about the report for a Dupe as it's not, needs to be in the title to be a dupe :)

    • +1

I did search but didn't see it in the title of that post.
I'm just interested in the red bull :) Fridge is nicely bulging!

    • +2

+1 And well worth it's own post. Hasn't been this cheap at Coles or Woolworths this whole year!

      • +1

Just scored a deal, check if you got it too!! :)

  • +2

Is a great deal, grabbed 4 packs of the sugarfree.

    • +1

      sugarfree vs zero?
I find zero the better of the two.

      • I used to prefer zero as well but found the taste rather off putting compared to the sugar-free.

      • haven't tried the zero, read some nasty online reviews so I have stayed clear.

        • Yeah, I find Zero is basically flat Red Bull. Sugarfree is still fizzy.

      • Really? Zero is flat and flavourless to me.

    • Zero is a 3/10 compared to the Sugar free which i rate a solid 9/10 when compared to the original

  • Oh wow, I don't think these were labeled at my Coles.

    • +1

They had them on display at the end of an isle in Coles in Belmont WA.
Maybe 20 cases of the normal one left. Cant remember how many of the other types were left.

      • Belmont NSW, also had front end full.

  • Jager-bombs here we come 😉 stock up for summer guys

  • +1

Saw this today in Fitzroy. Good deal considering its almost 3 bucks a can.

      That's weird looking Red Bull

    • That's old stock.

    • Almost completely irrelevant. No internet points for you!

        • +4

Nah, I heard black coffee affect your typing accuracy =P

    • +1

      Well? How? I'd like some.

  • +9

well done coles. they know the market. they put it on special the final week of uni as we start studying for exams and doing our final assesments.

  • Wow epic bargain. $5 a litre. I don't think I've ever seen it this cheap before. I thought the 6 pack for $9 was good.

    • +2

Red Bull 4 packs a practically always on sale for $6. Woolies one week, Coles the next.

  • -1

What is the deal about Red Bull that you think $5 for 4 tiny cans is a worth it?

Does it taste better than Coke Zero which you can buy in a bigger can for a tiny fraction of the cost?

    • Yes it's an absolute rip off, even on 'special'

    • +3

Red Bull and Coke Zero are two completely different products. One's a diet soft drink, one's an energy drink. Energy drinks are never as cheap as soft drink. Red Bull is the most expensive ED and it doesn't go this cheap barely ever, if at all.

      • Yeah but people on this page paid $5 for 4 tiny cans of the sugar free version too. So that is not it.

        Sugar is CHEAP.

        • Red Bull = energy drink
Red Bull Sugar-Free = energy drink with no sugar

          Coke = soft drink
Coke Zero = soft drink with no sugar

Sugar isn't the sole defining factor in calling something an "energy drink". If it was, Coke would be already be one.

          @Pinchie:

          "energy drink with no sugar"

Unless it is a ketogenic drink containing 70% fat and 30% protein that comment makes no sense. Even then, it is ridiculous.

Red Bull = Marketing to create a premium where there is none.

Red Bull Sugar Free = Marketing over common sense.

Taurine for a start, plus the taste. Also great as a non alcoholic treat.

I buy them for the wings, of which, Coke Zero doesn't provide.

      • Coke Zero tastes flat compared to Coke.
        Pepsi max > Coke Zero

Pepsi Max closer to real pepsi than CZ is to Coke

        • I find Pepsi Max too sweet, I do not like real Coke anymore after 30 years of the sugar free stuff.

  • -2

Red bull is bad for you.

    • The sugar free one is caffeine, flavour and water.

      • And artificial sweetener

  • Just brought 15boxes :)

  • +3

$5 Red Bull 4 packs? Be still, my arrhythmic heart

  • Tastes like cough medicine

    • even the summer editions? lol

    • +2

It's less than half the caffeine of a cup of coffee. There's absolutely nothing dangerous in it except sugar.

Daily Mail is a tabloid that prints lies.

      • Are News.com and The Independent bullshitters too? Hey, I drink the stuff occasionally but it's pretty damn obvious that it's far from good for you.

        • +1

I get what you're saying. Caffeine is definitely a drug that can affect and even kill you if you badly overdose (for the average person that's around 100 cans in a day).

But, unless they're posting the same things about coffee, it's still fear mongering. A Red Bull 250ml can has 80mg of caffeine. That's about 1 shot of Espresso, and coffee varies too. A large coffee can easily have triple the caffeine of a Red Bull.

That guy who had the heart attack drank 8 cans, which, if they were 250ml cans, totals 640Mg of caffeine. That is a heck of a lot, but you can easily get that from coffee too.

        • @MrMcHairyHead:

Isn't the taurine an issue too?

This Daily Mail article seems more pro-wings and by association, pro-Redbull.

    • i wouldn't be mixing a depressants (alcohol) with a stimulants (energy drinks).

    • Please use scihub or something

  • +3

Stocked up on some of this on Wednesday and some more yesterday… aiming for enough supply to cover social events over summer. This is the lowest price I've seen for wings if I exclude KFC deals.

  • Usually buy mother energy drink as they are quite often on half price but red bull taste better IMO

  • +1

Just in time for uni exams!

  • Balgowlah Coles has stacks of them! up the front and near the freezer section!

  • -3

I walked up to the redbull shelf, decided to read the ingredients, then thought to myself; I can just make an instant coffee that gives me the same boost and tastes better imo, but more importantly doesn't have artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners, preservatives…
