  • Pretty good price. Thanks.

  • Perfect timing. Just ran out of these from the last bulk buy. Thanks OP

  • Woolies currently has these for $4 on special, so this is a good price.

  • Whats a decent flavour/number with these? I like my coffee as an espresso but the purple coloured ones tasted fowl! No where near comparable to nespresso pods.

    • If you want expresso you probably need to go with the highest number.

EDIT: Also if you really enjoy the nespresso pods taste (I find the after taste a bit wearing on the taste buds) you might not like other brands. The nespresso taste is very, distinctive…

  • good price, usually it goes down to $4-$5

Pass. These used to be really good but have found them to be horrible since they dropped some of the variety and changed the look of the box. I gave away the 4 boxes I had left from a similar deal.

    • What brands do you prefer?

I normally buy the Vittoria ones either the mountain grown or italian blend. On special they are about $4. I drink flat whites and found the best way to have the pods is to go full size coffee from the machine then fill the cup upto half way with milk. Can nuke it for 30 seconds doesn't seem to impact the flavour if you're lazy like me and dont use the frother.

        • Interesting. I tried the Vitoria ones but prefer the L'or. Didn't use the full shot like you do though. I'm with you on the frother……I can't be bothered either.

        • Vittoria are undercutting the coles branded pods at the moment, they are cheaper than $3.70 at the moment. So stock up if you are a fan. I personally think these ones are some or the crappier ones you can buy for taste, and would have preferred L'OR over these back when I used to buy a lot of L'OR, but that was about 2 years ago and you are right, the taste has changed.

I used to like these until i discovered the cafe Royale range at the good food and wine show. I bought about 20 boxes as they did a show special of 3 boxes for $10. They only sell them at woolies though and are pretty much same price as nespresso $6.80-$7.30/box so I've been waiting for them to go on sale. I've found l'or to taste watery these days.

What kind of bargain hunter pays $57.70/kg for coffee

    • +2

Have u got a method to pull a shot that is kinda cheap n quick?

30c per shot of coffee from this deal.

Not really I'm just trolling. When I'm not roasting my own I buy from a local roaster for $30/kg,but these pods have 5g of coffee each where I use 18g per cup, so it ends up costing twice as much. And my setup is worth about 4k which pushes that average cup price right up there haha

        • @chinezejew: If you seriously want to get into making the best coffee you can at home, start with a good grinder. Breville smart grinder is good if you're on a budget but longevity may be an issue. The good thing is you can use it for plunger or aeropress before deciding if you really want to take the next step to having an espresso machine in the home! (and then continue to use it for whatever brew you want to make when not drinking espresso) I use a cafe grinder. Great for durability and speed but it's huge and I'd never want to use it for anything but espresso.

          @sourdawg:

          Thx mate

        • Yeah but your beans go stale in a week or two unless its in the freezer. When it comes to making your own at home for the best coffee you need to keep running off to buy a 100g of beans or so every couple of days just to keep the coffee "on point". At least with pods you get a better than crap coffee consistently and there is literally no effort.

@serpserpserp: If you do 2 cups a day @ 20g each, that's 40g a day so call it near enough to 250g a week. Coffee has an ideal usage window of around 3 weeks, so you can get away with a 500g bag a fortnight, or a kg every 3 weeks if you drink a little more. We use 1kg/week in my house so no problems with freshness here!

As I said in my first reply, it was just some lighthearted trolling. I'd personally rather drink tea than pods

@serpserpserp: No, whole beans don't go stale in a week.

        • @elektron:

          two weeks :)

  • Do they fit in Aldi's machine?

    • of course NOT

  • When does this start?

      Read the title.

      • Whoops!

  • Just was in Costco Adelaide today and they have their boxes of 60 L'Or capsules on special for $17.50, a slightly better price per shot, although they only have one variety available.

  • I hope it includes L'or Espresso Onyx Coffee Capsules and L'or Espresso Sublime Or Jaune Coffee Capsules.

    • Can confirm it does. Picked up a variety of these.

  • Just went to Coles in Wynyard station and they are not marking these down. I asked and the guy said they had no instructions to reduce the price.
