expired $17+ $2 Booking Fee for 2 Movie Tix Greater Union - for All Optus Customers
This was posted 2 years 11 months 5 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
my first post - pls be kind
just found this on facebook. the old Optus $8 greater union movie tix offer has expired, this is the replacement. tried to find a backdoor for those non-optus customers, but couldn't (they must've fixed the bug). maybe someone else could find a way? Anyway, it's a great deal for all the Optus customers out there.
Any two movie tickets for $17*: Valid Monday to Thursday inclusive (excluding public holidays) at Event Cinemas, Greater Union, Birch, Carroll & Coyle and Village branded cinemas. Not valid for Gold Class. A maximum of two tickets for $17 may be purchased in a single transaction
*Offers available online only, standard online booking fee applies to all online ticket purchases. Valid until 30 june 2011. Offer not valid in conjunction with any other offer or discount.

Another option available to the general public
http://www.shoprite.com.au/products/Greater-Union-Event-Cine...
$11.50 per ticket, minimum of 2 per order (NB: No max)
if purchasing 10 or more it drops to $10.90Prices include shipping and do not have a booking fee

Only valid Mon-Thurs, and as far as I can see, there is no way to register for this offer. I'm an Optus customer plus had a legit Optus rewards card that just expired, with the $8 movies on Wednesday.
I think they only way you can get this offer is to have Optus send you a membership card at their discretion . If so, not really worthy of being on OzBargain.
greenpossum on 16/07/2010 - 02:18 ¶How do you mean? When I clicked on Find out more, it dropped down a section with a Purchase Tickets Now button, which when clicked takes to a login page where you are asked for an email address and password. If you don't have those, you can click on Register Now which takes to a registration page. I didn't go further than that.

+2 votesi thought cats only talk in abbreviated and poorly spelt words? "I can haz cheeezburgrz" ect ect.
Maybe he wanted it in more of a cat form. I found a transltor so we can communicate with 'housecat' better
This is how he should have said it :
"MAH FURST POST PLZ BE KIND"
+1 voteI have found this website to be pretty cheap for movie tickets. For hoyts or village off peak mon-thurs, $9 a ticket. 6 to 9 month expiry date. You can see 3D etc. with surcharge. When I last ordered postage was free for more than 6 tickets, can't see that option on the website now. Anyway postage per order is $1.50.
www.spendless.net.au/ then go to cinema ticket options of the left hand of the scree. FAQ lets you know about postage times etc.
illumination on 16/07/2010 - 16:04 ¶Ahh I was so happy when I saw this until I realised you can't get it like you could last year =(
Last year's one was seriously the best movie bargain on OzBargain ever haha but thanks for posting this too.

Just to be clear, you can use these at Village Cinemas, etc.
