wow that is a pretty good deal!

  • Edit: Nevermind, Literature Lane only.

  • x Lt La Trobe.

A bit far for me, but I do love these offers! I was there when the Bourke St one opened.

    • Yeah, I have no idea why they are using literature lane as their address, it's on the corner of Elizabeth and Little La Trobe sts. Though they do have about 3 or 4 entrances!

  • 2min walk from my work. Free coffee everyday!

  • I wonder if this is meant to be like Coles Central?

  • They make very average coffee unfortunately. It may be down to the beans they use: the very hard to find "Bianco" blend by Vittoria. Most cafes serving Vittoria coffee use the "Oro" beans. This shop shows the Bianco trading for almost half the price of the Oro. Vittoria don't even advertise the Bianco on their website…

    • Will be trying one today, if it's better than the coffee machine at work, then I'll be happy, which isn't hard to do!

Yeah unfortunately, the coffee was quite dreadful. Not sure I'll bother again.

      • My Latte this morning wasn't bad at all, I thought it was quite nice, "free" makes it even better - I've actually paid for worse coffee than this! Hello Subway Elizabeth street, I'm looking at you!! Never again.

I'm definitely not complaining and can't agree with ragrum & YOTR's suggestion that it's not nice, but appreciate their experience and that not all will like it.

I will return for another free cup.

        • I don't like milky coffees. Even then I went for a macchiato just in case. If you don't have much milk in your coffee there is no where for the terrible coffee to hide.

So I rephrase my feedback. Good option if you have milky coffees. If you have black coffees, give this a miss.

        • @YOTR:

The coffee flavour was quite strong even though I ordered a latte (eg a milky option) and again I don't agree that the coffee tasted bad.

Telling people to "give it a miss" is only based on your opinion ~ I don't agree that somebody on here should read your comment and decide "Oh well, I won't try this free coffee because YOTR on OzBargain said it's not worth it." That is ridiculous.

It's free, people should try it and if they like can report back on their opinion / experience, good bad or otherwise.

        • @nismo:
You are right, I'm giving my opinion and reporting back as you suggested. Take it or leave it, I don't care.

  • Is there alot of traffic and cars there? Its so hard to cross the road in that intersection.

Guess is ok if its on the way to work.

It's in between 2 intersections that have lights for pedestrians to cross over Elizabeth Street, one at A'Beckett and the other at La Trobe (streets) where Melbourne Central is.

The nearby constructions often add to the 'busyness' of the area..

  • Extra for soy?

    • T&C's only say that it excludes: Double Shots & Syrups.

If it's considered a normal menu option for their hot drinks I don't think they would charge extra.

  • Where is this? Is this the one near the Gloria Jeans on Elizabeth Street?

    • +1

Yep, that's the one. There's a link to google maps in the main post info.
