Still using PSP6 but couldn't turn my nose up at 19 AUD

    • OP didn't make it very clear but if you change currency to CA then you pay ~AUD 14.82 which is less than AUD $19 shown as default

    • Yeah, using PSP12 here, this $19 deal for version 19 is just too good to let it slide. Thanks OP.

    • I upgraded to PSP7 last year, using PSP6 since 1998

If anyone is having problems with the price showing $70+, turn on incognito mode on your browser, then go back to the link above. This brings it to about ~$15 AUD when you change currency to CAD

    • +1

no need for incognito just change currency and you will be fine

      • For some reason then, comes up as $79 CAD if I didn't do incognito. Havent looked into it further on why

        • I use chrome and was shown $19 AUD then changed currency to CA and was shown the right amount

    download insurance.

    You what?

Edit: On perusing the tubes it appears to be a payment for the priviledge of being able to download a file that you could download anyway. Crazy.

    • will be hard to find this version when a new one comes out on their site. that is where insurance kicks in to re-download it in the future.

      • +1

Yeah, you're right, it's pretty hard to copy a file somewhere, mistake.

Use the SlickDeals link OP provided.

    • thanks have updated the link with the slickdeals one

The Protexis service was a pain in the neck. i think the last version I used was X2. I still have 9 installed on one of my computers. Also pop up ads in this version apparently.

Thanks! I'm an Adobe Suite fan but thought I'd give Corel a go for under $15!

I'm an Aldus Photostyler fan but since they merge into Adobe I jump boat to JASC

      • Cool; be good to see how they can interact with each other.

Thanks OP brought one, worth way more than $15

Been using PSP7 as my photo editor of choice since the late 1990's. PSP7 in my opinion is simply the best, fastest to load, simple yet powerful photo editor for basic edit functions. $15.43 for me (via Paypal) for PSP X9 is a bargain! Thanks OP.

    Hello Ozb community;
I've always been interested in photo and video editing, but never quite got to it, especially with popular softwares such as photoshop etc priced rather high. Can anyone explain the difference between apps like these and photoshop, and whether these are "noob friendly?" As well as whether these apps are a good place to start.
    Thank you

  • Grabbed a copy. Great deal!

I bought their aftershot pro 3 a couple of months ago to replace lightroom, but couldn't get along with it (30 days to get full refund). Then I bought ACDSEE Pro 10 instead, fits better with how I'm managing files plus it is pretty quick also check out the "light EQ" feature.

Just checked their website… seems like a better product than Lightroom if their comparison chart is to be believed.

      Did you come from Lightroom?

I am currently using version 5 and I am looking to upgrade to some of the better features like that Light EQ, which will speed up my post processing.

      • +2

There are some really good features in Lightroom and it can do a lot of stuff, but the constant rendering, importing just drove me crazy. I don't do a lot of editing, mostly after a vacation, but on my laptop (yoga 460) zooming in to 100% on a raw file was a couple of seconds every time. Now it is instant.

Most of my editing is light and color changes. The color EQ feature is pretty neat as well you just click and drag on the color you want to increase/decrease saturation on.

The whole way lightroom manages files wasn't for me either. Maybe it is because I work in IT that I don't want another abstraction layer on top of an already perfectly fine file system.

You can download the trail and import your lightroom catalog under tools -> import -> lightroom database and check it out.

I got 2 copies of pro 10 for $72 during their valentines sale, so maybe wait until Easter and there will be a better deal than currently.

        • Ok I will have a look and see… anything to make it quicker.

My main use is lighting, blemish removal and changing saturations.

I will then use Photoshop to make any other edits i.e. layering of two photos where one looks better in a shot compared to another.

  • Just bought a copy… I remember using this on Windows 95 back in the day.

Anyone get the download link for the following?

    PSPX9_Corel_CreativeCollection.exe

Can't seem to find it in the email or anywhere via Google search.

    • ask Diji1 (see above you will find him), he is known for storing these files in safe

  • +1

Nice, I used to use this back when it was Jasc PSP 7 or something. Good deal!

    • Yeps Jasc lol bring back old memories with god damn floppy discs.

  • I'm getting a file not found error screen. I will cry huge tears of cry if I miss out on this. Been after the new one for ages.

      • I had your link open from last night so just used that.

        • lucky for you but for everyone else that didn't leave their link open its expired :(

  • …far out lol

With the original link gone, when you backtrack to the store and select PSP X9 Ultimate it's showing CAD $79 now for me.

    • chat with support, they will give you link to $19AU price point.

  • Also grab the Nic collection from Google for FREE

    About NIC collection:https://plus.google.com/+NikCollection/posts/AFGsG2Di7EK
    Link: https://www.google.com/nikcollection/

After installing Nik move the installed files to PaintShop's plugin folder

  • I'm still using Paint Shop Pro v4.14 which I purchased way back in 1996 for Windows 95.
Still works 100% awesome today and it has followed me through Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10. Great software does not die - it keeps working on subsequent versions of windows. Gotta love it.
