lol ozbargain is super weird. Last time i posted a 20% off at officeworks last year, it barely got 26 votes

      Do you ever stop complaining?

    • +1

Did you use sockpuppets on that one?

Times have changed. Last year 20% off iTunes was a standing offer at OfficeWorks, so you were just pointing out the obvious ;)

20% is now not the norm (seems to be 15%), so may explain why this post attracts more +1's.

You don't have a tight arse though, do you?

    • +1

Last year 20% off was permanent at officeworks, and Coles/WW/etc were having 20% off iTunes sales every week, so 20% off was pretty much the standard price.

However in the three months this year, this deal is only been the second instance itunes has been 20% off (the first deal only lasted 3 days as well), so iTunes 20% off are pretty rare to come by right now.

Btw your post was the only case of a '20% off iTunes' post making the front page last year - a simple search shows around 10 posts that didn't make the front page last year. 26 votes is pretty impressive considering that other posts couldn't even get over 17 votes.

If only there were more to life than getting 5 seconds of fame on the internet…

But I want to be an internet super star

    • Maybe you're the one that's super weird.

      • +2

        Possibly

At least you have some insight

  • I recently got an iPhone but cant see the need to purchase any apps.

If I was to though, what would you all recommend?

Do you use any subscription services like Apple Music, Spotify, Netflix etc? Several of these can be paid for with iTunes credit.

      • +2

wait what? seriously? had no idea

        • +3

yup Apple Music and Netflix and also iCloud storage

        • @bion83: yeah i just checked it out. it only works if you get a spotify or netfix account after creating an account within the iOS or apple TV apps.

        • @rogr: but nothing is stopping you from canceling your current subscription and creating new account within iOS + netflix will throw first month for free. (not sure about spotify)

      • Amazing.

I do use spotify and Netflix. This I can do.

      • Even Skype Credit (although it is cheaper to buy it from Woolworths at the moment at 40% off).

    • Haha don't worry that was me just a couple of weeks ago (discovering that saving on these subscriptions were possible this way - 20% for certain memberships year-round is substantial!)

Anyone know if these work for paying for apple music subscription?

    • +3

      Yes, can confirm it does!

    • Yes it does, just make sure you don't have carrier billing (ie with a phone carrier giving 6-12 months free). You'll need to cancel and then resign up if you do have carrier billing (once free period = over)

Don't forget to register as a student via that unidays site first ;) $5.99 sub instead of full price. Then pay for it using discounted itunes cards ;)

      • Do you actually need to be a student to register?

I see it only asks for the usual email address and password when joining, but wonder if you later have to supply a student ID or other information.

EDIT: Yes, it seems you do need to provide study information and email address to verify the account.

        • +1

You need a student email address. Just sign up for a free basic course (Uni entry course) and you'll get one. Don't have to do the course. Did it a few years ago and my email address still works.

  • Sorry being off topic, what's the best discount on iTunes card you have seen? Thanks

    • +6

      100%

      • @TPB

  • Thanks

Can these be used by an Applophobian like I am?

  • just realised coles and coles express are separately stores. damn it.

  • Anyone know why they don't extend these discounts to the $20 cards? Always puzzled me

    • I imagine they never have a problem selling those on their own

    • Seems to be across all retailers too. Suspect it might be something on Apples end limiting this.
