One of the cheapest laptop with GTX1050ti has just gotten cheaper! ThinkPad E570p is now on sale at Lenovo for $1099 delivered when you use coupon code EOFYE570P at checkout to get $200 off. Here's the spec for the base model:

  • Intel Core i5-7300HQ (quad-core 6729 PassMark)
  • Windows 10 Home
  • 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) IPS display
  • 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • 128GB SSD
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 2GB

It's far from portable at 2.39kg, and I don't think that 6-cell battery is going to keep this running for more than a few hours. However it's a good performant laptop that has a bit of upgradability (2x SODIMM max out at 32GB, spare 2.5" drive bay) and GTX 1050 Ti should be able to play many latest games in FHD medium settings.

Accessories are also currently 15% off. However you might find RAM, SSD and accessory upgrades are probably cheaper elsewhere. The only worthwhile upgrade IMHO would be 3 year NBD warranty which is $176 extra.

  • What do you all think about this one? http://prntscr.com/fbfa8x

    • buy a faster and better laptop for that much
can get a laptop with 1060

and a bit more will touch 6th Gen Intel + 1070

though you have a longer warranty on this config

  • Ok. That's cheap. A brand new pc with similar spec is basically 100 bucks cheaper.

  • A little heavy for me personally, but killer value for laptop with a 1050ti, EVEN though its a 2GB. The cooling on this is probably decent (though maybe a bit noisy), so its graphics performance should match or beat most laptops currently around this price point. Good find OP!

waiting for a deal on x1 carbon

    • or T470s

      • yeah that could work as well.

    • Which doesn't have dedicated graphics, so is in a different category.

      • I don't really see the need of a mediocre d graphic on a largely mobile unit.

  • I'm sure this has been asked before, but is the warranty void if I buy a larger capacity non-stock SSD, clone it and swap it out? Thanks in advance.

    • Can't see any reason why it would be. Unless something inside gets obviously damaged in the process.

    • +6

Obviously Lenovo won't provide warranty on the non-stock SSD. If you are not sure, just put the SSD back before you call for warranty claim. Moreover you don't really need to replace the stock SSD, as it has another 2.5" bay that's empty so you can run both stock M.2 SSD and an external-sourced 2.5" SSD at the same time.

  • SSD upgrade seems a reasonable price but you can easily get RAM cheaper

Any reason not to pick this up?? Been looking for a new laptop with a 1050ti or 1060 for awhile now, never seen one close to this cheap.

    • It's an all-round laptop, it does a bit of everything. The graphics card is "only" the 2GB variant, if you are looking for something that'll handle games fluidly at 1080p High try Metabox Prime discussed above.

    • It's hard to find a 1060 for less than $2000 so depends if that is important to you. This is definitely unbeatable value.

Dell factory outlet often has Alienware with 1060 for good prices ~$1800

A pretty ball-tearing deal. Quad core and a half decent graphics card, and SSD.

  • In comparison to this e570 for example: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/307414

Which one is better? I understand this has a quad-core i5 vs dual-core i7. Also a better graphics card. However half the RAM and less memory.
Engineering student wanting to use primarily solidworks, light gaming (I don't need ultra settings), and otherwise just standard use. 1k is budget but if this is recommended I can spend over (cashrewards?)

It's a 45W CPU vs 15W CPU… i5-7300HQ has better overall performance but slightly lower single thread performance. See PassMark for i7-7500U.

Also note that RAM and SSD are both upgradeable but CPU and GPU aren't on a laptop. If you need the grunt you'll want E570p. However for engineering students — I'll rather get a lighter weight laptop if I need to carry it to uni every day.

      • Thanks for your response! I'll look into the weights as well.

Seems like Cashrewards not valid here: Purchases made with coupon codes not advertised on Cashrewards may result in cashback not being paid.

      • Tried my luck anyway. I've got the cash rewards tracking email advising cash back is ~$76 (I upgraded to 256gb SSD).

  • I got the E570 deal when it was posted last week.

This seems quite a bit better (for gaming at least). Any idea if its possible to cancel or return the order and get this instead?

I realise my odds are probably low, but figured i'd ask anyway, just in case anyone has experience with this.

    • Looks like 20% restocking fee is applicable.

      • Seems like it!

Lenovo USA is much more lenient on returns :/

  • Great deal, thanks OP. Buying this for my wife. Upgrading to 256 ssd but would love advice on whether i should upgrade ram (either to 2x4gb or 2x8gb)? Also should i stretch my budget to include the 3 year warranty? Thanks heaps!

    • +1

2x 4GB RAM will give slightly better performance but you'd need to replace it to upgrade. 8GB is enough for most things and you won't see much improvement going for 16GB (at the moment).

The price for 2x 8GB is a little too high. If you want 16GB for the best price then buy an additional 8GB separately and install it yourself.

Warranty depends on you. You'll be covered by ACL for 2-3 years but that might entail lots of stress fighting Lenovo if they don't cooperate.

      • Thanks for replying as i have no idea when it comes to laptops. Your advice is greatly appreciated!

  • Oh no, I just bought E570 last week! Haven't receive it yet.
Now I want this deal :(

    • Was just looking at the E570 (showing at $849) and wondering the difference. I'm no laptop/PC guru, so why would you opt for the E570P? Thanks

      • The E570P is a mid range gaming laptop.

The E570 will struggle with anything gaming due to low powered CPU and lack of dedicated GPU (by default).

      • Mainly because of the GPU 1050 ti, so I can do some casual gaming on it.

    • This page is worded differently to the main page, so you could always try using it?

      • Thanks so much, but some how there is a 20% restocking fee applies after return the product. This is outrageous :(

      • "digital-download-software/terms_of_sale.html"

For hardware there is a 20% restocking fee (just asked a livechat agent)

        • Sad!! Returning Lenovo product is just a nightmare for everyone now. I think it's fair for customers to pay for the shipping but 20% off whatever the price you have paid? This is just crazy.

First purchase from Lenovo Australia and this is what u get. Just pure sadness.

  • How does one gain access to a back up image with new laptops these days as these Lenovo do not come with one…

    • I bought this during the original deal with LENOVO15. It has a recovery partition and you can access it by pressing enter during the boot up and choose system recovery

      • Would this help with swapping the main drive with SSD?

        • Sorry wouldn't have a clue, I only added in my own 1tb hdd and didn't swap out the main ssd

        • @CodeXD: I wish I bought the SSD version…

    • Lenovo let you download one. At least they did for my t460. They gave me permission to access 1 copy of it. Just download and keep it on a USB somewhere

  • 3 Years On-site + Premier Support
    $176.00

    3Y On-site NBD upgrade from 1Y Depot/CCI
    $229.08

  • If only the 3 year nbd was the same price as the last deal :(

What games could you actually play on this card?

  • +1

So this is basically a good value desktop replacement? Too heavy and battery to short to use as a normal laptop, I'm guessing.

  • Any real life pictures or a review?

  • Thanks - order placed this morning. I'm not a heavy gamer and don't feel the need to play everything at Ultra settings and can't justify $2,000+ on a new laptop, so this really seems to hit the sweet spot. Was just starting to get to the point where my old Dell Inspiron wasn't going to cut it for the current crop of games I wanted to play, so off to gumtree/ebay it goes when this arrives :)
