I did some vacuuming at 1130pm

  • +5

FWIW, it's a great vacuum. I have a Roomba and the Xiaomi and the Xiaomi blows it away. It's just been a much better device.

    • +2

It blows? I thought it sucks?
Well to be fair..it blows from the other end.

  • +4

Damn, I wish I didn’t get the Shopmonk deal now. I’d much rather buy local stock

  • +1

There's a new version out now i think

    • +2

yeah but I heard it was going to cost potentially double the price too though so it depends on what you're after. The current model is at a sweet spot where it is really value for money - it does a surprisingly good job at a fraction of what the competitors cost

      • doesnt matter this model should still drop further in price

waiting sure as hell wont INCREASE the price

        • More than likely this won't be in stock anymore

        • @superroach: there are so many sellers

          doubt it

    • +3

There is, but it's significantly more expensive, cheapest I can find is about $640 from Gearbest.

      • The new model has wet mopping function right? Also I saw on Gearbest the "international" version is another $100 on top. Wonder why…

        • Yeah I believe that's one of the additions to the new model, just depends what you want to pay for, and I'm not too sure..

        • +1

Yeah, I've been looking at the new model. I just can't seem to figure out what that difference is with the international version.

        • +1

The new one has the mopping function; 10% more powerful suction; and the new one can go over bumps up to 2cm high.

        • +7

          @MightyAtom:
The international version has band 28.

        • @kahn: MVP right here

        • @kahn: and don't forget, it has Bluetooth too. Hell, it'll even make you a sandwich.

    • +1

The concept of mopping is interesting, but I wonder at the room for things to go wrong. Plus the price. It seems the kinks have been ironed out of the current model, but a few features on the new version (other than the obvious change with mopping) look nice.

      • +1

in reality it looks more like going over the floor with a wet wipe. I wouldn't put much trust in it

  • +1

    Function: Suction

Trying saying that with your mouth full.

  • +3

I bought from these guys and can highly recommend.
Super fast processing and delivery, and the vacuum has rocked our world. It's awesome, especially at these prices.

    • vacuum has rocked our world

Didn't know the Xiaomi had that function XD

      • +2

set it to vibrate and finish yourself off

  • In other news, this site will shortly be moving to www.xiaomibest.com.au

    • +2

Ok I clicked on the link

  • +2

I bought from these guys during the 18% off ebay sale. The vacuum is good enough that I don't care in the slightest that I paid more. It really is as good as everyone says. To get the most out of it though, check the clearance under your couches/coffee tables etc, getting underneath these is probably my favourite part.

  • +1

    Definitely a cracking vacuum.

Moved into a new house and we set this thing off twice a day and it grabs so much dust every time!

Getting from gearbest ensures the aussie plug as well!

    • +6

I get a perverse satisfaction at seeing how much it picks up even after using it the day before. It's the little things in life :D .

  • +1

Cheers OP, finally bought one after procrastinating for months. It better be as good as everyone says it is as I already have 2 Dyson's! :)

    • +2

No worries, I remember seeing your comment on the eBay post a few days ago! From all of the previous comments about the vac, I think you're in for a treat :)

    • +2

Use it in conjunction with the dyson

It isn't perfect, but bloody good at keep on top of the majority of it.

You can use your dyson irregularly to do a top up - but the personal requirement is much much less.

This from someone who only bit the bullet a month ago

  • xiaomi vs neato botvac?

    • +2

Surely that's a rhetorical question. Xiaomi of course.

    • +1

I have Neato D80. Going strong for 2+ years. I can't compare it to xiaomi but the neato's shape let's it clean corners. I guess for this price …. Buy two of these.

  • +1

Finally decided to buy one, thanks op!

  • How good is it at picking up pet hair? (Both cat and dog).

    • +1

      milesandbos
I have a cat, Bengal. Short pile carpet. Does a great job.

      • +1

Thanks! We're looking at getting a Samoyed and already have two cats. I think a robot vacuum will be a must.

  • +2

Any one know if you can set up two vac's on the same app and work in tandem. Vac wars.

    • +2

Get the stickers from aliexpress and have ironman vs spiderman…..

      • +1

        "OZB Al"
        lol

  • I just had to pull the trigger on this after so many have spoken so highly of it. Thanks OP!

  • Bought from shopmonk last week and my order is still in "pending " status :(

  • +1

How does this go over a thick shaggy rug?

    • mzuppit;
Don't know about shaggy Rugs, I have a large high pile rug and it does a good job on it.

    • +2

I love my Xiaomi vacuum, but thick shaggy rugs it cannot do. The side brush was the problem when it happened to us - got tangled up quick good. One solution would be to put the magnetic 'invisible wall' tape under the edge of the rug so it wont go onto it.

    • same as neato , they don't like shaggy rugs and the wheels skid, so it moves real slowly as there is an issue with traction.

    • I don't have a shaggy rug but it navigates gracefully between our hard floor and normal carpet.

Got this a few months ago from this seller after the botched roboguy deal (is that bloke even around any more?). The shipping was free and fast, and the vac is amazing at what it does. Highly recommended.

  • +1

    Thanks OP pulled the trigger.

  • +4

Bought one of these a couple of months ago. Best investment ever!

  • do you suggest to by extended warranty ?

  • seen this in action…pretty amazing.

  • +1

Trigger pulled. Not missing out a second time :P
He shall be called MR ROBOTO.
    I will thank him regularly.

    • Mine's called ROBOMOP

      © 2017

      • That's the new model…this one is just a ROBO VAC :)

        • Wouldn't that name confuse you with your ROBOVAG…

        • +2

@sky blu: no, because i already have a…….never mind.

    • +1

Dress him up! (random aliexpress search I in no way endorse the seller)

    • I call ours BOB.

  • Thank you, just bought one.

    • And received it today. Awesome!

  • Getting the unit is fine but what about maintenance? Like where do you buy brushes and parts??

  • I see shopmonk is slightly cheaper for this item at $319 delivered.
Pros/cons for buying with either retailer? I bought a google home last week from shopmonk and came no problems.
    Looking to buy one tonight

    • +5

Highly worth paying the extra $10, this is covered under ACL and comes from australia with an australian plug, there are also reports of shopmonk not replying to emails or offering much customer service whereby Gearbite do.

      • +1

Understood. I bought one through gearbite

  • Finally pulled the trigger. Thanks OP!

  • +1

Cheaper by $10 here if someone was to choose the local pickup and pickup from Sydney CBD:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/263271404365

    • Just checked and seller is located in circular quay

  • Does anyone know credit card extended warranty cover the PayPal transaction or not?

    • Good question, I would like to know as well.

    • I believe it does if you use the credit card within paypal to pay for it, not 100% positive however.

      • Thanks. I have checked with my bank and I think I have to call the insurer to confirm.

  • +2

I finally got one, hope it's as good as everyone says. Now… How to tell the wife.

    • +1

      Congratulations Ozbargainer,

      You have levelled up!

    • Well jut tell her she/you has been upgraded.

  • Finally pulled the trigger on this, been umming and arring for months.

  • Just popped in to say awesome product and seller! Enjoy!

Have had mine for close to 6 months and it's flawless.

  • Gst receipt for tax back?

  • +1

I wanted to pop back too and say I've been loving our vacuum over the last couple of months, and my parents bought one a week after I did from Gearbite too, and he was incredibly fast at responding to emails after I made a mistake on the order that was entirely my fault. Awesome product and awesome seller.

My SO and I also get that perverse sense of pleasure from seeing how much it picks up everyday, and I love being able to walk barefoot on our kitchen floor which somehow seems to get covered in food scraps whenever my SO cooks (he is a great cook though) but now our vacuum cleans it up every day, and that is SOOO nice. Its the little things :P

  • Thanks OP.
Been thinking about this for a while and finally pulled the pin on this deal. Thanks to everyone above for their reviews, answering questions, etc as well.

+1 to OP & OzBargain in general.

  • I've been considering one for a while. With the positive reviews and reasonable price, the deal has been done. Cheers :)

  • Got mine delivered today, very fast postage!

  • Hrmmmm i wonder if its because im in WA that i dont get this fast postage that everyones been talking about?
I ordered on 25th and according to the post it still hasnt left VIC? :(
