By A LOT
Negging for cheaper elsewhere (distance negligible as it is like a 10 min drive from fluidtek and wireless1)
+4 votesstellaoriens on 27/11/2010 - 22:06 ¶The Fluidtek deal came out after this was posted, so I don't think it's fair to neg for cheaper when at the time it was posted, this was by far the cheapest.
Just sayin'.

+4 votesSee.. it SAYS 50% of all Logitech products, but it displays the Z5500 speakers for $279, when they're currently listed on the website for $400.
$400 - 50% = $200 according to my maths..

cazzy160344 on 27/11/2010 - 08:53 ¶Agreed.
Explanation please? When looking at the website, are we looking at 50% off the RRP or the price that you currently have listed on the site? E.g. the Z-5500 speakers…

Unless you have received the email direct from us, or forwarded from someone, you will not have the correct link. This link goes directly to the promotion which already has the updated 50% off prices. If you are just visiting the site as you normally would, without having the email, then you will not see the special prices.
As has already been stated by some people, the prices on the email that has been posted here are AFTER discount, so no further deductions will apply.
If you need further clarification, you can go to our contact page and give the store a call, they'll be happy to help out!
+3 votesI think what the guys are getting at, is that Wireless1 normally sells them for $400, therefore they are not truly 50% off; they are in point of fact merely 50% off the ridiculous RRP, which is completely different! ;)
This is actually a dangerous situation for you guys, Australian consumer law expressly prohibits this kind of deceptive marketing!!! Check the NSW FT website for yourself, they are very clear on this! ;)
+13 votesBlatant Deceptive Advertising;
The Flyer says " Take 50% off in-store prices ! "
The Logitech Z-5500, as mentioned, is $399.00 on the website and therefore should be selling for $199.50
The Logitech Squeezebox Touch is listed on the site for $379.00 meaning it should be selling for $189.50 in the "Sale".
The price they have listed on the Flyer for the Squeezebox is NOT 50% off currently advertised store prices ($399/2=$199.50) and at $299 it isn't even 50% off the RRP of $549 since $549 / 2 = $274.50
Additionally I note that the flyer says "Limited Stocks" , so it is a good bet that if you try to get the TRUE "50% off in-store prices" they will claim they have no stock…

W1 15 hours 36 min ago
We will have large amounts of all items listed on the brochure, Best to get in early though. That is the usual tactic, however W1 kinda dobbed them in! Go in tell them what you want, get them to start the transaction, then bring up the price once they have the stock in front of you at the counter! If they don't do the right thing, lodge a complaint with FT & the ACCC first thing Monday, they'll probably get quite a few I imagine, and will tear Wireless1 a new one! :p
+1 voteGood advice StewBalls - I have done exactly that before.
@ Coolfish;
guys, too tied
now market is so bad
and the promotion price is much better than other physical and online shop
give W1 some support not “Blatant Deceptive Advertising, or FT & the ACCC”
promotion price is better than nothing
hope they will do better price in furtureWhy should I support a business that is being deceptive?
W1 has been made aware of the issue and NOT fixed the problem.
They could have been HONEST and advertised 50% off RRP (although even that wouldn't explain the Logitech Squeezebox Touch pricing).
+3 votesGuys,
There seems to be some confusion here, so we'll try to clarify what is being offered.
On Sunday the 28th of November our Wireless 1 Parramatta Store will be offering 50% off the in-store price of all Logitech products in stock in store with the exception of the products in the above email which have already been discounted and also excludes Harmony Remotes and iPod/Music Docks.
The products in the above email are available online after midday Sunday 28th November 2010. The 50% off in store prices does not apply online.
We have a very large range of Keyboards, Mice, Speakers, Laptop Stands & Headsets that are on offer that are in stock tomorrow.
We are celebrating our grand re-opening so we'd like to meet you all and have an enjoyable day. As some of you may have seen we will have other great laptop offers, bonus give aways, and some great prizes up for grabs including a tv!
Trance N Dance on 27/11/2010 - 11:09 ¶I know UE were bought out by Logitech but IIRC UE is still an independent brand. I have yet to see the name Logitech appear on any of their products. W1 can you look on any UE boxes and tell me if Logitech is named anywhere?
Like Coles and Office Works, same owner different stores/brands.
Trance N Dance on 27/11/2010 - 15:16 ¶Ah so Logitech have finally integrated the UE brand into theirs. Unfortuantely with that also comes the degradation of their products, no longer have anything interesting in the universal IEM sector.
+2 votesYour grammar is actually correct, grammarwhore was wrong! :)
He was incorrectly prescribing the use of the participle form 'rung', which would require the presence of an auxiliary verb (had, has or have)…pity it got removed, I love seeing wannabe grammar nazis make fools of themselves! ;)

Which T&C?
You mean the info now inserted into the deal description directly from the rep's comment two hours ago?
Would that also be the T&C that were never there until the post was updated after said rep's comment - since oz-dave posted that comment five and a half hours ago?
Nothing on the flyer mentions any of the new T&C!!! Duh???
camelgrass on 27/11/2010 - 19:37 ¶I think they mean the T&C that was in the original email sent to subscribers—not certain though.
alexlim2000 on 27/11/2010 - 11:35 ¶Guys, a few things:
* This is a grand reopening, the W1 store in Parramatta has more than doubled in size. This of course means they now carry a larger range, and they have more stock on hand.- Their online prices are different to store prices, as is the case with many online & physical chains.
+3 votesThe flyer image pictured in the original post says "Above products available online after midday"
So the prices should be 50% off the prices on the website.
If they raise the prices on the website just hours before the 50% off sale then they are also moving into distinctly deceptive space legally.

Logitech shop seem to be trying to undercut their prices…

+2 votesI'm not getting offended or anything, I too, at first was wondering why it wasn't 50% off the advertise price on the website. I was just trying to explain why imo the rep is right, but I also think Wireless1 made it confusing.
At the bottom of the picture, one of the terms says "Instore only except where marked" which I think none of the products displayed in the image are 50% off along with Harmony remotes and iPod docks.
+1 votecamelgrass on 27/11/2010 - 19:41 ¶I agree. I don't think Wireless1 set out to be misleading on purpose. But they have certainly made the advertising needlessly confusing—their marketing department needs a tap over the knuckles. I have not seen the full email that was sent to subscribers so cannot make a judgement one way or the other, but it seems a complaint to FT or ACCC is a bit over the top at this stage.

I still think it's a bit misleading. It clearly says 50% off ALL Logitech. It should say UP TO 50% off Logitech.
I can accept that they may not offer the 50% off deal online, as there are only a few online sale items, but they should at least be honoring the 50% off in-store as that is how it is advertised.
Regardless, I'm in Melbourne so couldn't take advantage of this deal anyway.
camelgrass on 27/11/2010 - 23:37 ¶Agree completely. I can see how it could be misleading and W1 should have made the advertising clearer in the first place.
But I don't agree with some people's ridiculous claims that they should be reported to FT or ACCC (don't people have anything better to do?). There is obviously no intent on W1's part to purposely mislead their customers. The W1 rep has clarified the matter here.
There are massive retail chains that get away with far worse than this everyday of the year. Jeweller's anyone? Every couple of weeks they have a "50%-80% off" sale. Everybody knows it's complete BS.

I disagree. The flyer clearly shows RRP's that are crossed out and replaced by supposedly halved prices. W1 never sold these items at anything like the RRP; so regardless of whether this is by accident or design, this is misleading, particularly for those punters who do not frequent OzB! As I've said, you can check the FT website and the Act, it is very clear on this specific situation!
There would be no problem if the advertising clearly stated that the prices in the flyer were already discounted items without the false halving of inflated RRP's! I'm not sure W1 are grossly negligent enough to forget that many people will assume (based on this) that they are getting these items at true half-price, especially when there is concurrently 50% off all items of the same brand at the same store! Incompetence, possibly; oversight, not likely; deception, probably IMHO! Time will tell!
At the end of the day, it is the responsibility of the retailer to ensure their advertising is clear and concise; that's the law, the buck stops with the retailer! Perhaps a complaint to the statutory authorities is heavy handed to those in the know at this stage; but not all will be so gracious, and legally; if they're taken to task; W1 will be in the wrong, no question!
They had great prices in the flyer, that's why I +'d the deal initially, until I read the fine print; they should've been happy with that instead of trying to be too clever for their own good! ;)
camelgrass on 28/11/2010 - 01:23 ¶I pretty much agree with you, but good luck with FT. I can guarantee they won't raise an eyebrow with regards to W1, whether it technically contravenes their legislation or not.
They see many, more blatant offences everyday that they can't even keep up with. This kind of advertising is not unusual in today's marketplace—I see it just about everyday myself. FT wouldn't even lift an eyelid.

I've got no intention of going near Parra now Fluidtek has smashed these prices! Easy for me on the way to Sydney for YumCha, actually IIRC Carlingford has awesome traditional Chinese too, so I won't really need to go any further…lunch is sorted once I visit captain Eddie! :p
Seriously dude, you don't seem to realise if FT or the ACCC gets enough complaints about laws being broken, they will act, they have a mandate; otherwise, people will just lobby their local members for action! I see it all the time too, these bodies do not just pay lip service to the law; just ask Mwave et.al. how breaching the FTA went for them? Even the big retail chains get taken to task for this, you might want to check the consumer websites, there's plenty of precedents!!!
You've just gotta stand up for yourself & follow it up too, you can't just cop out that "everyone else does it, so it's ok" if you take umbrance, man up; as you say, yes these guys are busy, but they've got a job to do & the squeaky wheel always gets the grease! :p
Leading up to Xmas, they might just be inclined to send vendors a message! Honestly, would anybody be stupid enough as a business to risk it? ;)
camelgrass on 28/11/2010 - 17:21 ¶Please share your submission to NSW FT and/or ACCC for the benefit of other consumers here.

Hmm, I don't remember saying I was lodging one. As I said, it was far easier for me to visit Admiral Eddie than go all the way into Parramatta and pay more money. I'm happy to moot the hypotheticals here, but for me to formally complain would be frivolous & vexatious, given that I was not intending to be a W1 customer! ;)
I'm glad everyone seemed to be happy with the sale…now sit yourself down for this revelation camelgrass…even I can be wrong at times! :p
Trance N Dance on 28/11/2010 - 20:40 ¶Again even if they did make a mistake with the advertising, all they have to do it notify us here, send another email around and put a few pieces of paper up in store and they've got their butts covered.
But the main point is I don't think they were trying to mislead us, they intended to give us a great bargain, and they did (but only to be beaten by FT).
+3 votesSome good deals until this deal came along :P

vmathews2204 on 28/11/2010 - 09:34 ¶I was in their store y'day. They seem to have stock and it looks like a genuine sale. Seems some wordings in their original ad caused some confusion. But they have since clarified that. However, someone else might still beat their prices.

The deals are now active online. In case you didn't receive the email, this is the direct link to the promotion.
http://www.wireless1.com.au/Promotion/GrandReopening/
Plenty more items are available in-store right now.
techmate22 on 28/11/2010 - 11:16 ¶EDIT: Nevermind, JUST showed up :)
Aren't the products in the email supposed to be listed online now for the discounted price?

+2 votesI just want to comment, I found Wireless1 today to be excellent.
Saw the Logitech MK320 wireless keyboard+mouse combo for $59.95, went to the counter, after 5 minutes, handed over $30 (which is half of $60, for all those mathematically-inept people), and walked out.
Smooth process, it was 50% off so I can't complain.
Thank you :)

Damn your quick!
Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 is a great buy for sub $100!
The only caveat here is the issue of stock levels.
