  • isnt this a dupe ?

Other post was 2 of each. This post is for a bundle of 1 of each.

  • pity it is about $20 for shipping to ACT :(((

    • Western Australia, Australia, starting at $23.04.

      • Yeah, seems excessive.

  • ok thanks OP, bought .. now time ti think why I need this..

    • +6

      Buy first, think later.

Worse case scenario, you can re-gift it as a present.

      • yep adding more to my collection :)

  • The glue pen is very handy if you’re into crafts at all, my better half uses it and reckons it’s the business; she had one of the corded ones and thought it was a bit cumbersome, so prefers this as it’s much easier to use for intricate jobs.

    • I've never used any of these electric glue pens before… Are they as strong as or better than superglue?

One of my heels fell off my dress shoe so was looking to glue it back on.

      • +3

I think heels are better with supa glue and it’s alternatives.

      • +1

It depends on the type of glue used, which melts at high heat and at room temperature it hardens, but not brittle. Check out YouTube for examples and "hacks". Rather interesting and not just for sticking things together.

      • +3

Depending on the type of material you’d be better off with a contact adhesive (think tyre repair types)

        • Thanks jlogic, quarrymaster and blibster for the comments, will investigate!

        • +4

@montorola: just a tip, I know a shoe repairer and he never had a hot glue gun as far as I know. And I used to spend quite a bit of time there back in the day. As someone mentioned above it's more for craft, think things you glue and then maybe put in a drawer, rather than something you put 60+kg on between you and concrete repeatedly all day every day

      • +1

As has been said, it depends on the material.

For woodworking it’s sometimes useful to use hot glue to temporarily secure a piece whilst the wood glue dries, but my other half uses it for craft projects and what not and in that instance it would be better than super glue she uses it on fabric, plastics etc.

Super glue has very strong adhesive properties but it doesn’t tolerate a lot of flex, for most applications that you might use it, it’s fine but it’s got limitations.

I used hot glue to secure an insole in a shoe that kept slipping forward and it lasted very well, for instance.

Edit: this might be useful for the shoe? https://www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-50ml-shoe-fix-contact-ad…

      • +2

On shoes you'd usually use a contact cement adhesive,
        https://www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-50ml-shoe-fix-contact-ad…

I like using a 2 part epoxy resin like Araldite, as I know it's going to stick. if I leave it clamped to cure for the 3 days
        https://www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-35ml-araldite-super-stre…

        • +2

While we are making recommendations, is use some stuff called KS Bond. You can get it from $2 shops or ebay (ebay 180mL for $7 delivered) and it's going to be a lot cheaper than the equivalent Selleys product at Bunnings. The key thing here is to clean both sides (with alcohol preferably as it dries fast), then apply to both sides and you need to wait until it's tacky which can be 5 Min to probably 20min. Then press the sides together using as many clamps as you can find, directions say hours but I usually do it overnight.

    Good work RichardL. :)

Too bad I already bought 2 screwdrivers from the previous deal (I was the one who actually PM'd you my referral code hahaha), kudos on making a deal out of it for the benefit of other Ozbargainers!

    • Was about to go back to the previous deal, and thank you for the code.

      Thanks.

  • Dam I just missed it. Could've gotten a free hot glue pen :(

  • where do I put the referral code. Do I put the code in the Discount Code. I got Discount Code not found, can anyone help

    • +2

I think the system hasn't updated yet, which is why my code isn't working.

Received a comment from the rep, saying referral code cannot be used on the bundle.

  • Could you please clarify on what the referrer and referee get?

  • +4

Instant adhesion after a few seconds

    Wait, what?

    • +2

      Too soon?

  • All fixed

    • Are you clicking "Add to bundle"?

  • Already have a bosch screwdrivber with automatic bit change… but the glue gun and extra dremel glue gun for $39 was good enough for me to buy $35 for the bosch glue gun alone or for an $4 chuck in a dremel glue gun and free shipping

  • +3

Damn. $1 cheaper than us who are splitting it from the last deal. Hope this doesn’t cause some people to pull out of their agreements.

    • A lot of us pull out all the time.

      • +3

Lol @ the neggers, do you guys even have a sense of humour?

        • +3

I'd say it was more due to the poor quality of the joke, rather than the joke itself.

        • @Lorindor: Quality of the joke? You either find the sense of humour in it, or you don't - what quality lol? It isn't out of place, I used the same word choice from the original comment. The joke here is the innuendo. Are you not in Australia?

        • +1

          @sky blu:

I never said the joke was out of place, but it was quite immature and not much effort went into it.

        • @Lorindor: One can argue that it is immature to interpret it one-way 😊

But I'll take your advice and do some practice for my next standup.

  • Thank you! Bought the bundle not sure I need it though!

Buy now justify to the Mrs later :-)

  • Bought one. Thank you

  • now i need to buy some discounted furnitures from ikea

  • Thank you OP, just what I needed!

  • Dammit, I was too fast. Bought the Bosch screwdriver and Bosch glue pen separately in the other deal, already paid $84 before this deal appeared :(

Guess it's too late to get a rebate for the difference? Sigh.

    • Same here. I contacted boxlots to ask for rebate, but they refused as package was already sent. I thought that was very miserly on their part.
I also accept that I’ve lost some OzB status as a result of my rushed purchase

  • Just reading an earlier comment about delivery cost to ACT, if anyone in south Canberra is interested in either the glue pen or the screwdriver (just one) then let me know. I'm still interested in getting just the glue pen for $25, except I don't need 2 :P. Got some work trips coming up so I can get the Melb shipping option on the 2x glue for $55 or this glue+IXO combo.

(I don't really use it that much to want to pay more or bother going through selling a spare or IXO -_- )

    • Thanks for the people who sent messages. That'll do for now.
Have to check what shipping method is used exactly to see how easily I can receive it in the first place!

  • Really dont need this….so i bought it. Thanks guys.

  • +1

Bought last deal AND this deal so I can have the glue gun. Have 3 screwdrivers now and don't really need any. Thanks OzBargain. Glad I come here to save money.

  • So do we get a refund if we just bought the a Screwdriver and Glue gun as linked in the previous deal?

  • Has anyone had any luck in cancelling their earlier order and getting this instead? Have any been shipped yet?

  • How about dropping the shipping rates to WA? $23 for $59 is a lot.

  • thanks OP, bought one bundle.

  • +2

Thanks OP but posting to Adelaide is 20 bucks…. almost same as WA.
    Why so expensive?

    • And posting for 2 x IXO is only $10….

      • yep. shipping kills it as a deal to SA. I wouldnt have thought much differ in weight volume between 2x screwdrivers or 1 screwdriver and 1 glue gun.

  • -1

Well it is Adelaide after all :)

    • yeah I know :)

  • Pays to read what you're buying during checkout, accidentally ordered the item unbundled lol… Messaged support and received a reply saying "sorry, has already shipped" 14 seconds after receiving the email saying it had been shipped. Cheeky buggers.

Hoping rep can organise other part to be sent and will pay difference + postage, dunno though.

  • I have just ordered 2 sets with postage to Canberra…PM me if you want one set and are happy to split the cost of postage…postage was $18.25 in total

  • Is this better than the one from Ikea?

    • 3.5 stars out of 37 reviews for the Ikea one on the US website. Small sample size but for the same price, I would go with the Bosch based on reputation and quality.

  • Thanks, just bought the bundle … free postage for western sydney too :)

  • Just bought the bundle even don't need it at all as already have 2 screwdriver. Thanks, anyway.

  • Just wondering is the screwdriver pressure sensitive? If I press the button a little bit, will it spin slower as opposed to fully pressing it?

I'm asking because I'm wondering if the speed of the cutting attachment can be controlled or is it simply just a on or off thing.

  • Can we use this to drill through wood? Thanks.

  • +1

Just met a PM to the OP.

SYD, MEL, BRIS Metro = free.

    Adelaide = $19.16 (?)
What makes Adl more expensive to ship to?

    • I'm not associated with boxlots, so can't answer your question. Best to ask Wakko, who is associated with the store.

    • Yup, it's interesting - posting this bundle to ADL is $19.16, but when you choose 2x IXO it's only $10. I don't get it.
Bundle posting cost kills this deal for me.

  • has anyone receieved their orders by any chance?
    thx

    • +1

I received my tracking ID, and will be delivered tomorrow.

      • thanks for sharing

  • update: the order is well received this morning.
however. missing the free '10 pics of glue sticks'
    anyone else can confirm?
    thanks

    • I received my 10 pcs of free glue stick. It was a the bottom on the box.

  • I've had my tracking ID for days, but no search results found when I entered the tracking number.

    • Did you use AusPost Tracking?

      • Thank you, the link in the email was pointing to SmartFrieght. It now tells me "Your parcel is coming" but not much else. I may have to contact Boxlots.

  • hi everyone.
just be careful with the gluegun.
the front touch point is very hot when its in use.

    • That all glue gun in general. It has to heat the tip, to melt the glue stick.

      • yes, i know now. so i let ppl know who does know

  • I ordered 2 Glue Guns, but received 2 boxes of Screwdriver sets …

    • +3

      You got screwed…

    • win! much better value

  • Anyone in Newcastle want to share postage?

  • Went through to checkout
Says does not ship to 4505. Burpengary - greater Brisbane area?.
