In regards to layout, it has recently been redesigned and underwent considerable user testing. There are certainly areas we can improve on, but the general feedback from testers was very positive. If you can be more specific about what you don't like, it will help us to improve it further.

Here's what i see…

stuff is all over the place, page takes 2-3 minutes to load… search field often doesn't display at all…
+1 voteBook Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 09:45 ¶Crikey!! That's a serious browser issue. Are you able to tell us what browser make and version you are using? This would really help us to fix the issue.
Book Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 09:36 ¶What specifically are you searching for? We might be able to help you.
Book Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 09:49 ¶It's not a timing issue. It is almost certainly a browser issue. There are literally dozens and dozens of browsers which all have their own quirks and idiosynchrasies, meaning we need to customise the website for each of them individually. If you can tell us the browser make and version you use, we might be able to help fix the problem for you and anyone else using the same browser.

The latter option applies to individual books, but is simply not a sustainable model for a small business, particularly with a country the size of Australia, so is likely to last indefinitely. You'd better be quick of you want to bag a bargain!

Sorry bookbargains, I can't see the option for free shipping for "pay online by credit card or Paypal". Do you have to get right to the end of the checkout process for the shipping to vanish? I got as far as putting in my details & the shipping was still there so I gave up.
+1 voteBook Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 11:03 ¶In a word, yes. Until you choose your method of payment, the system cannot tell that you are about to pay by credit card or paypal. So you do need to select the payment type first. The shopping cart will then check with your credit card or Paypal to ensure you have funds to cover the order, then come back with a confirmation page. ONLY when you click on the confirmation button will the funds actually be debited.

patientvalue on 10/12/2010 - 12:08 ¶website feedback for rep: ability to display more results - too frustrating because it only displays 10 results. Give us the option to display more results please. ta
Book Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 15:33 ¶Agree 100%. We have this on our 'to do' list. Hopefully we will see this introduced early in the new year.
kelsey2112 on 10/12/2010 - 14:22 ¶there was a book i wanted on the affilate site but i thought it wouldnt include in that offer…
Book Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 15:31 ¶The books you are finding via a search of our affiliate partner AbeBooks are not actually listed on the Book Bargains' website. They are listed on thousands of other reseller sites, aggregated by AbeBooks. We cannot possibly offer 40% off these books because they are not our stock.
We stand by our offer: 'every book listed on the site has an extra 40% off.'
It seems ironic that the first page extols you are different as others have to order in from other warehouses, but everything listed you have in stock. Then I do a search and get a huge listing that says you don't have it, but your partner has found it through these other places, and orders are subject to their terms and conditions…
Seems like trying to have your cake and eat it too.
kelsey2112 on 10/12/2010 - 14:21 ¶all the books I searched for could not be found. Couldnt find any other books that interested me.
Book Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 15:37 ¶Sorry we were not able to help you, Kelsey2112. Unlike every other online bookstore in existence, Book Bargains ONLY promotes books we hold in stock. The benefits are that the prices are very low and you will receive your books very quickly. The downside is that we do not have an endless catalogue of books. That said, there are 3500+ books listed. If we don't have the book/s you're looking for, I'd be surprised if you cannot find it/them via our affiliate partner, AbeBooks.

This statement is completely MISLEADING…… Book bargains have just sent me an email now days after charging my credit card to let me know that one of the books that i had bought (the first book that caught my eye as a Christmas present and convinced me to look for other books as Christmas presents) is out of stock and cant be sourced.
"BOOK BARGAINS ONLY PROMOTES BOOKS WE HOLD IN STOCK" WHAT A JOKE!!
Book Bargains on 17/12/2010 - 09:14 ¶Book Bargains has absolutely no intention of misleading anyone - far from it!
We buy books, we list them, then we promote them. But of course, they do sell out. Normally, books are immediately removed from the website as soon as the last copy is sold. We discovered a technical problem recently which prevented this from happening on some titles. This is very regretable and the problem has been rectified. In these instances, we went out of out way to try and source the books from elsewhere, but were mostly unsuccessful.
By contrast:
1. Most other online bookstores only pre-purchase a tiny proportion of books they promote (i.e. up 75-90% of the books they promote they NEVER hold in stock)
2. Most other online bookstores can take up to six weeks to tell you the book you paid for is out of stock or out of print (i.e. because they NEVER stocked it in the first place).
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you experienced, but I assure you Book Bargains is FAR less misleading that the vast majority of online bookstores who boast about having 'millions of titles' - they simply don't and never did!
Book Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 15:51 ¶Thanks for the positive feedback, benneh. Hope we can help again sometime!
Book Bargains on 10/12/2010 - 17:19 ¶Thanks kissfan24. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised with the delivery service. Either way, any further feedback would be greatly appreciated. We pride ourselves in constantly improving our service.
twilsoncrow on 10/12/2010 - 18:28 ¶I would recommend the service and books from book bargains. The 40% off discount is amazing and makes the books soooooo cheap. I ordered from them last week and received all the books I ordered in a couple of days.

A "+" for the bargain but a "-" for the website…
It is ridiculously slow and not very well laid out…
