That's providing the app works on your old device.. The thing is so buggy, wouldn't let me log in.
had to reset passwords several times since they changed to the new version of the app ………wiped login details.
finally worked for login, also had to restart app after password reset and loggining in …….would come up with scan code so they could enter into register …..
all that for one free big mac.

The bun size shrunk in the 80's (so that the internals went to the edge, rather than having an excess layer of bread), but besides that it has always been the same. The grand big mac is way bigger than it has ever been.

Really the issue is everywhere else has bigger burgers that keep getting bigger. A single whopper patty is bigger than the two in a big mac combined, and they keep bringing out double whoppers and the like.

The Big Mac has always been the same size. When they first came out they were the same size as the US ones, then our bun sizes were increased, then decreased back to the original size which is what we have today.
Just for 1 day :( …. I still remember when could get as many big macs as you want, 1 per day per account, and went on for weeks :) just had to 'vote' for some maccaz video (but didn't really have to watch and vote, only had to click through, then back again)
I still remember the 2 Big Mac's for $3 days, no app required.
I still remember having to say "Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun" to get my bonus Big Mac.

What's so bad about it? Coming from a Windows phone it seems nice.
It doesn't work for most users, just look at the App store ratings, be it either Apple or Android.
Last update has been the worst for me, it's just soooo sloooooow and too many steps to just order food.
Walk from work is 5mins and I still can't complete an order and check in before arriving at the store.
Always wants to pick my closest store, no option to pick saved stores, PIA when you are on a train wanting to order breakfast on arrival.
Not that it matters, Box Hill VIC is often either not a place or you get item only crap, no meals. This has been going on for weeks, including seeing a coffee tick on the card vanish the next day. Not to mention the kiosk machines broken with POST errors, even the order display screen had a POST error.
Really wish Maccas had a team that sort out these stores with issues, stop redesigning the app and fix the core issues with it failing. There is a reason KFC went with NCR for their app, they do it right the 1st time.
If it was up to me, I would give the franchise 2 days to fix, or you are being shutdown.
They didn't actually redesign the app, they just gave us the US McDonald's app - which by the way has even worse reviews including pearls like "I’ve used mobile ordering four times and three times, it has double charged me for my order".
You first need to see what % of customers are app users? As for what I have seen they get in-store / drive thru (non-app) orders big time. While the app customers only come with deals :P
Saying that, I do agree with you that the latest version of app is no good.
well,
for me I had to do password resets as it lost the previous details,
it also would come up with the scan code for the cashier, had to restart app, it just sat there for about 3 minutes …..
hopefully they have fixed it where you don't have to leave credit card details attached to the app and you can just pay cashier …would be a saga if it billed wrong and you tried to get a refund "call head office or send and email" …. rather place order at kiosk or scan at register and pay if the amount is right.

Over a year I have been using the Maccas app and all the deals I have seen posted on OzBargain have been accurate!

Mighty take 10-20 mins after sign up, but reload the App and it should appear on the home screen.
As a new user you should also get 25% off, but you can't stack the coupons.
Your choice of ordering, you can use the Promo's button (top right) on the kiosk, or give them the code at the counter. Kiosk recommended. Or App.
Everything must be via Kiosk/Counter (don't use counter unless last resort) or App for the promo's, unless in store where you need to give the code at the counter, where you can scan the bar code. Never done drive through.
You don't need to provide credit card details if you only want to use the scan/code in store.
Don't even try at a drive thru, every time I have I've gotten a blank look and "I've never seen one of these things in my life", including at a Macca's beside the regional headquarters and training facility.
I went through drive through and got a momentary blank stare, then, an "all good, drive through" :-)

The app never works. The new updated version just hangs after you choose "when" to order. Just spins. Its the most frustrating app as it NEVER has worked for me. Must have tried at least 30+ times over the past 6 months.

I remember seeing advertising about a select few 'Favourites' (including Big Mac) would now be available 24hrs but don't seem to be in my app.
I'll probably grab this tomorrow, and yet still be disappointed. McDonalds is just so meh lately. I received approximately three drips of tomato sauce on a cheeseburger recently. They are getting so scabby and yet more expensive every visit.
Sauces are dispensed by a portion control machine now, they're that stingy.
Sauces have been distributed mechanically for at least 20 years. The ketchup / mustard were via a lever on a funnel and the Big Mac Sauce / McChicken Sauce etc were via a device much like a caulk gun. (sauce > worked there 20 years ago)…
The pattie is like seasoned cardboard but I still buy it. Is it because Ronald groomed me when I was a youngster just like Zig from Streets Icecreams?
The special sauce is their secret but I agree they are being tightarses with the sauce. (Not talking about Ron or Zig) The only way I can eat this crap is with an extra sauce sachet.
