Yep, as long as you either signup during august (then pay the sub at renewal) or pay your subscription in August, you'll get it.

@doweyy: I think you'll find that if you signed up in July, you get the $29/yr deal instead (after your free month). this will be for new sign ups as of today.
I asked them this morning, if you signed up for the free trial in july and you pay in August, you are paying $29 which is a cheaper price (and a different promotion)

Nope, read the T&C's. You pay the $29 and you get the Google home mini. There is no reference to the price, it just says you need to pay the annual membership fee.

I feel like it wouldn't be okay.
I signed up to eBay Plus 30-day trial on July 31 to ensure I would pay $29 for the first year if I decided to keep it.
But be eligible for this giveaway it says to sign up for the free trial in August or join and pay in August.

I think the wording in (b) can be approached in different ways. The way I read it is that, if you have an eBay plus membership (which we do with the trial) and pay for it in August to renew a 1-year membership, then you will be eligible. That's my take on it.
@doweyy: Guess we'll find out soon, but I'm hoping you're right and I'm wrong haha. $29 for the first year + the GHM would be a great deal.
@unco: Nah, you'll pay the $29. You need to take up the $49 offer (as of today) to get this deal. it might be possible to cancel your existing ebay plus (when the trial ends) then sign up again to get this deal (but you probably forfeit your free month).

Had they intended for this to only apply to those who signed up in August they would have included 'in August' to read 'join eBay Plus in August' in that section.

i.e. you you had a ebay trial, and cancel, you don't get another ebay plus trial, you have to pay straight away if you sign up.

Still tossing up whether to keep the $29 trial after the free month. Saved that amount of deliveries so far but eBay plus needs to be more compelling than that. How about waiving final value fees for sellers and bigger % discounts with no restrictions?
My biggest concern is that I would end up buying more landfil if I kept ebay plus for a full 12 months because the deals are just too tempting

Mine expires in 13days and I think it auto withdraws the annual fee, there's no option to pay now or anything, just a cancel button.

Very ambiguous I find it too, seems like you have to sign up in August AND pay the annual Plus membership to be qualified. So if you sign up in July does not count.
edit - nevermind, looks like someone already clarified that July intakes has missed out this special offer.
The ambiguity will likely work in the consumers favour. i.e. If they don't give it to you initially, they likely will if you argue the point.

It's not ambiguous at all given that they've updated the T&Cs since you sought clarification, and have even specifically created a section in the FAQs to deal with the July/August queries they've been fielding.
Unfortunately you're not eligible, but you already know that, don't you? Go on, admit it…

I'm more amused at the dedication you have to your cause and admire the faith you have in your screen grabs of outdated information. New Customers only? Just a query as I couldn't see anything in the terms. I'm still on the free trial but should be paying the full year amount soon so wasn't sure if that makes me eligible.
