Midweek airfares are usually the cheapest, especially with sale fares. The only downside is the return flight where you have to decide to: slog it into work / work from home / annual leave / sick day

Dummy-booked 2 x $149 return in Feb, but with leg-room seats, 20kg baggage and pre-paid "meals" came to nearly $800 return for two people.

A tip for anyone trying to quickly spot the cheapest days with flights that's unaware:
Select the full date range (8th of May to 22nd of May) and then click "Month View" on the next screen and it shows you the a monthly calendar and you can cherry pick the cheapest days/flights from there instead of having to do trial and error on specific dates.

If people weren't so stupid, airlines would lower airfares. The worse thing that happened was the loss of Tiger especially in Adelaide to Bali. I check flights and most are around $750 return
