[SOLD OUT] iTunes $20 Gift Card for Only $12.99 - 10am Monday 18th

353

Hi all,

Got a great offer starting at 10am tomorrow (Monday - when our deal counter reaches zero)… $20 iTunes cards with FREE digital delivery for only $12.99!

Limited stocks so just 1 per customer, will sell out like our previous 2 times we've offered, and only got 500 of these this time around.

And for the true apple fans - we've still got some iPhone 4 docks left at $18.95, yes I know you can probably hunt around on the net for an hour and find some overseas seller offering a few dollars cheaper, in my experience if you want to risk it and wait 6 weeks+ for delivery then do that, otherwise we've got it in stock locally ready to ship, and the price extremely competitive.

EDIT: Not sure why OZB system put the dock as the picture, the main offer is iTunes $20 card for $12.99!

Regards OZB!

  • nice, 35% saving.

BTW OP. the picture is like that because that is the first product on the page.

  • Very good price, never seen the $20 iTunes with 35% off

    • +1

      Seen 50% off before.

  • Yep, 35% would be great. Hope I'm lucky & get one. Thanks.

  • Awesome deal, i will be waiting for 10am!

  • Oh man, got a phone interview scheduled for 10am!

    • +15

I'd imagine landing a job would be a better deal than 35% off an itunes card.

      • LOL. Plus limit to 1 per customer.

  • hope i am quick enough @10am

  • Is the dock genuine? Also, since you seem to have had the deal before, how long did it last before you ran out of stock?

EDIT: Also would the cable you had $3.99 be genuine and is there a possibility you could "find" one at the back? ;)

    Thanks

Hi bargain88 - drop me a line via email @esold.com.au - the first part is the same name as I use here (try to avoid those pesky spam bots!).

EDIT: Yes, its the EXACT SAME dock JB etc sell for $39.00 - probably even from the same supplier.

that is the oddest package i have ever seen

  • Hey Handelbert, good value! I bought one a few weeks back it did not have an expiry date, can you confirm how long is the expiry date please.
Also I believe iTunes card normally has an expiry date and once redemeed you have 2 years to use, can someone confirm please?

    • +1

Hi shopaholic32! From the iTunes site "This card expires the later of two years from the date of (i) issuance or (ii) last activity on an iTunes Store account."

Its not entirely clear to me from that - but it "reads" like you have 2 years from receiving it to activate/use it on iTunes store, but then it reads like you can then go for 2 more years from the time you first use some it?

Either way, I would say if you use within 2 years you're safe :D

I think someone asked before how quickly we expect to sell out? The last few times we had more cards and less interest and they were gone pretty quickly. Honestly would not be surprised if we're talking minutes, we will beg and crawl for more tomorrow and if we can secure some do another run for people that missed out later in the afternoon but I can't guarantee it at this point. Sign up and be ready!

For the Family Guy fans out there: Sourcing cheap iTunes cards is like Peter trying to borrow that 5 dollars off Mr Pewterschmidt - there really IS a jar filled with salt water and barbed wire, but we do our best - some people will miss out unfortunately.

Nice server capacity you don't have there.

  • Haven't even seen what the damn website actually looks like yet!

  • Could be Steve Jobs buying them back to keep the price up? :)

  • Is this how e-tailers do stress testing on their servers? lol Got to be a better way…

    • -1

There is a company you can pay to test your server with as many visitors as you want (just specify) costs more than a deal like this would cost though.

  • yep. Unable to connect

  • +3

Servers thrashed guys, sorry about that. 1000's of people hitting it, nothing I can do at this point - we'll go for some more capacity ASAP! @ Proringz… hehe trust me our site is much more efficient that COTD's just a much smaller server for now. I will commission a BIG ONE shortly!

    • +1

Please add an additional 100,000 cheap $20 iTune cards to handle our demands :P

    • I recommend running YSlow and Google Page Speed when this is all over. There are plenty of optimisations to be had.

    • one'll be fine thanks - I shan't charge for my time. Good luck!

  • Don't worry, the webkeeper's moonlighting as an Air Traffic Controller - he's just overslept.

    • uugh there are cheaper alternatives out there.

    • +1

Ok. Will do I'll browse CoTD for a few mins ;-) They shoot overloaded servers to put them out of their misery don't they?

      • +1

Great idea. Everyone go on CoTD…they'll never expect that.

        • CoTD has kids stuff, I have no kids.

  • wow 300 clicks in the past 10 or so minutes

  • +2

Yeah sorry guys, on the phone to the tech staff at data centre. Will make the move to much higher capacity server in the coming days, thanks for your patience and understanding.

    • +1

is the deal still on for today? =[
maybe you should postpone until you have the better server.

  • Retracting my vote… can't hang around here forever.

  • esold is back up !

  • Your payment of $12.99 AUD is complete.

You're now going back to eSOLD Australia Pty Ltd.

    Woo I got one!

  • uh oh, it's stuck while charging my credit card!

    • "Processing - DO NOT refresh this page - Please Wait…"

been like that for 5 minutes =[

Hi mrdavedave, if theres any issue at all drop us a line we'll definitely sort it out!

    • Same here… Where the wheel will stop nobody knows…

  • got through paypal successfully, but didn't return to esold… hopefully will be OK.

    • mmm i used to work at a place that required you to be returned to the site after paypal, otherwise it wouldn't be recognised in the system. it would just be a lost paypal payment.

      • I F5'd 11 minutes later and it returned to confirmation screen, plus paypal account says it's all good.
        :)

      • Hi, we use PayPal IPN, so under normal circumstances the PayPal server contacts ours and says "hey such and such paid he is the invoice # etc" and our system does some security checks and marks it off. Hopefully PayPal's IPN is as keen as iTunes buyers and keeps trying and trying if it didn't get through. We'll check the payments not marked off anyway so don't worry :)

  • "Unable to connect to database server!"

From the server: load average: 85.02, 84.22, 83.08
For anyone that knows what that means… its bad! Still 1000's of people hitting on the server trying to get a card, just need to wait it out unfortunately - sorry again, its strictly a server capacity vs number of users issue. The server can handle a lot of users - at the moment that number is heavily exceeded by the demand however.

The core code base is extremely optimized, its just the server thats not handling the request numbers.

Sorry once again, out of my hands with regards to what I can do technically at this point, we'll make bigger and better plans for next time, as chunks of people drop off the server will come back to being itself at some point.

    • Wow, highest load averages I have seen this year.

    • chunks of people? sounds like any top selling console game…

  • How many are there left then?

  • Oh brother… Processing credit card:
"ERROR: An error has occured. Please click here to continue.
2013 - Lost connection to MySQL server during query
2006 - MySQL server has gone away" Followed by error dump…

    • i got that too =[

    • Maybe I'm missing something but can't they design systems so that entered transactions are queued and offloaded to a separate server for completion (rather than struggling with the same server that hosts the product catalog)?

  • Alright, finally gone one :D I think I was lucky, the website went fast for 5 seconds then after paying, it was unable to connect again.

Here's the direct link if you haven't got it already http://www.esold.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id…

Don't worry for those that do miss out we'll have another "TEST OUR NEW SERVERS CAPACITY" iTunes card sale in a week or so. The response has been absolutely massive, thanks for your support and understanding.

  • It's like Boxing Day sales and mammalian conception…only the lucky few make it through

  • I got lucky and got one… good stuff

  • Finally got one.

  • Got one very easily.

Mysteriously, the site is now working fine when it is SOLD OUT ?

Have users stopped trying to log on for the deal ? If so, how would they know it was sold out with logging on ?

Seems a bit suss to me….

Good way to get free publicity… Make up a fake deal, shut down you system, bring it up again announcing item is sold out and then get free publicity…

    • I got one.

    • +1

Hi jv, plenty of people got them as you can see from the posts here. You are too paranoid after years of COTD tricks :) There were just a few 100 units left once the server went through a reboot about 8 minutes ago - there were a lot less people than @ 10am but it still easily sold out within a few minutes. Your inference is completely wrong :)

You can see people posting they got one. Sorry that the server capacity couldn't handle the massive surge of users but inevitably with limited offers someone will miss out - sorry its you this time, but look towards next week, we're going do it all again and push our new server to its limits! I've ordered the "Big Boy" :D

    • heaps of people here seemed to have managed to get one

  • So when can we expect to receive the code?

    • Hi Prorings, as soon as possible, allow us a few days to clear the massive backlog. Cheers!

  • Just managed to get one, minutes before it sold out.
Took me like an hour, gah.

If anyone paid via PayPal or Credit Card and didn't receive an order confirmation and can see the payment has gone from their bank or PP account - please just drop us an email and we'll sort you out ASAP! No reports of this so far we have safeguards in place but you never know, its possible the order email couldn't get out due to the traffic, we can let you know its all ok.

    • Order confirmation from you guys? All I've received is the receipt from PayPal.

      • +2

Hi Hintswen, send your info to support@esold - we can reissue the order confirmation + invoice and if there was an issue we'll certainly sort it to your satisfaction. I kept a few cards aside just in case a few orders slipped through the eSOLD/PayPal notification or eSOLD/ANZ confirmation cracks. It's no problem just minor inconvenience for you which I understand - and for that I do apologize and appreciate your support and patience! We're here for the long haul and will do everything we can to ensure customer satisfaction.

    • Ok, just read that now. Hopefully it isn't too late. It's @esold.com.au right?
