Another 6+ month wait for moneyback with Dell.....
I bought an overpriced Dell Laptop way back in early November 2007. I am expecting circa $88 cashback
It’s over 6 months and transaction is showing as APPROVED in MoneyBackco.
Where the ^&$% is the money?
I love OzBargain and MoneyBackCo, but very disappointed with the speed of refund here - I assume it’s because of Dell’s system or whatever but this is stupid. If I had gone with buckscoop instead would it make a difference?

In this case the affiliate network and/or Dell has been the cause of the delay. We’re simply not in a position to pay moneyback until we’ve received it from the network. We have been asking repeatedly for better communication with Dell, but to no avail unfortunately.
The Dell offer is the only one left on DGMAustralia and to our knowledge is the only network where Dell Australia is available. We understand that DGM may have to liaise with a fourth party agency who run the Dell campaign and so this further complicates matters and increases response times.
The Dell account manager remains silent to most of our enquiries and so frustrates us continually, but unfortunately there is currently no alternative if we want to offer the Dell moneyback on MBC.
Maybe our enquiries have had some affect as transactions previously stuck in the ‘Tracking’ state have recently been approved. Meaning we should receive the money from the network this month and payout at the start of June.
We’re in active negotiations with all networks to try and make these sort of frustrations at least less annoying for everyone involved and will of course keep our members updated if we make any progress in this area.
All I can really do is apologise for the delay and leave you with the knowledge that, in your case at least, the moneyback will be on its way soon.
Cheers, Steve.
Hi Steve
I appreciate your efforts in chasing Dell up to date and agree it’s great that things have at least moved from Tracking to Approved.
Perhaps it would be worth reading the agreement you have with Dell to see if they are under any obligation to pay up in a certain time. Also it might be worth complaining to the boss of the account manager if you are getting nowhere with him in person.
Steve
Thanks for your help with this one. The $88.83 is now in my Moneybackco account and should be in my bank account next month - good to finally have it resolved….
I have had no issue getting money back from other vendors - just Dell causing issues. I am a big fan of Moneybackco

Not sure about BScoop. Had my Dell moneyback disallowed there - likewise with Apple. So at least you are getting your money - even if it is late.
(Not a dig at BS - more an issue with DELL and Apple)
I use another browser and delete ALL cookies before using either MBC or BS as there maybe cookies that DELL or Apple use that identifies another site at the “lead” refering site. (I use Opera on the Mac)
