My trust Creative Gigaworks T3 kicked the bucket after 6 years of impeccable service (as expected, the "wired remote" gave out). Needed a replacement and had heard a lot about this one as being fairly decent as PC Speakers.

Inputs are 3.5mm and RCA (no optical or bluetooth).

SQ is pretty damn good for the price (I have a set of Edifier R2000DB that sits in the lounge), and I reckon these will do perfectly fine for my PC.

The price seems the cheapest at present (quick google and staticice).

Bugger, bought these last week for $98. Have to say they are excellent speakers, my neighbours are very pleased.

Yeah am quite impressed with these, which is quite surprising considering the price.

Yeah it's a step up from the x230s I've had for about 12 years, that were still running strong

  • Can potentially price beat at Officeworks to bring the price further down?

    • +2

Price expires 1pm tomorrow and I think all OW stores are closed till 1pm tomorrow.

      • Damn that's unfortunate :/

Hands down one of the best the speakers for your money

  • It's displaying at $98?

    • discount applies itself when you go to checkout chief

    • It'll be discounted at the checkout

  • Insanely good for the money.

  • May sound silly but how can I make it Bluetooth ready? So I can play audio from my mobile. Possible?

    • +1

You can get an aux Bluetooth adapter, I’ve seen it discussed in previous deals

    • You can buy a logitech bluetooth adapter or any other brand adapter. It will receive bluetooth input and give ut to speakers via aux(3.5mm) cable. Or via vga too. I have the logitech adapter not being used… if in case u r interested… pm me….

      • Cheap adapters sound crap, the Logitech one is good.

I have a similar model of these (if not the same model) form years back and they are amazing speakers.

I can't believe they are so cheap, if you are on the fence about them i'd get them.

Very loud and also stacks of bass.

  • Bought mine for a similar price around 4 years ago, excellent speakers! Most probably the best bang for buck. Only thing to note as others have mentioned previously, the power button can be finnicky at times, flickering between an on-off stage rapidly.

But really apart from that, they have been extremely solid these past years and are an excellent deal even at rrp, this is a steal!

  • neat function it has AUX-IN on the right speaker, and it can work at the same time with main input, thus a little mixing function.

i use that with my phone to play music.

  • my old gigaworks T3 remote gave out for me as well

Yeah, this is pretty much a failure point for this system. If you could run this without the volume control, I reckon it would last substantially longer.

I'm going to have a go at repairing this thing, and will report back. I really hate being wasteful, throwing up a perfectly good set of speakers just because that stupid POT died. :)

I'll report back if it works out.

  • My creative GD580 still going strong after like 13 years. Almost wish it would give out so I can upgrade lol

    • The bane of well built tech, isnt it?

  • I use them as the sound system for my TVs - highly recommended.
