what? i can’t believe this is a thing lol

    • +11

      Not familiar with the umbrella?

      • +2

I remember when Woodworm was our favourite umbrella 😢

    • +9

New to ozbargain? This is our favourite umbrella.

      • +3

Lol. Bunnings umbrella is my favourite at this price

        • how much does Bunnings sell their umbrellas?

          • +1
            • @m9: thanks not the bunnings branded umbrella though and also it is a beach one

              • @pinkybrain: From my memory, Bunnings brandded one is $10.

                • @O O: yes, i seem to recall it was about that much
but wanted someone else to confirm this.

        • +2

          Nothing beats Bunnings umbrella

  • $21 delivered with prime. 10 ribs vs 8. Same construction but better in wind apparently and uses DuPont instead of X brand. Anyone know which is better? I’m looking for a travel umbrella

    • +1

Only good for 800 open closes.

      • +1 something I never thought there would be a rating for…
        800 vs 1000 uses
But the 800 use bodyguard has 100% LIFETIME GUARANTEE. Can’t find any guarantees for Xiaomi but perhaps Kogan will offer an unadvertised lifetime warranty via the ACCC

        • +1

Says Kogan gives a 1 year manufacturers warranty, but I dunno about lifetime coverage

      • +1

800 opens would last me quite a while I imagine at probably 3x opens on a rainy day and probably about 50 days a year (probably being generous there). Gives about 5.5 years.

Would depend on where you live though. Canberra where I am has much different weather to many other cities obviously.

        • +12

don't fully close it to make the clicking sound
and it won't count as a close therefore it will always be in an open state

  • Thanks OP!

I lost mine a few weeks ago.

  • Thanks OP ordered

  • -1

How long the charge last for? 😁

  • +2

    Bluetooth enabled?

  • +1

Why is this umbrella so special again? I bought it anyway LOL

    • +1

It's not, Xiaomi could put their name on a polished turd and people would buy it.

      • +25

got a link for the polished turd?

I need to add it to my xiaomi collection

      • +1

It's not, Xiaomi could put their name on a polished turd and people would buy it.”

Only on Ozbargain. Xiaomi doesn’t mean much in the real world.

      • Soon someone would come out warning you that Xiaomi is a Chinese brand, there might be a camera hidden somewhere in the umbrella or maybe a backdoor something.

        • Instructions unclear. Umbrella stuck in back door.

  • +4

I bet not many People aware of this: made from a water repellent cloth.

Most umbrella aren't and you will be surprised how dry it is from water, after you shake it just once.

    • +2

Ah thanks for clarifying. I was after an umbrella with water absorbent material

      • I made mine from paper towel

  • +3

Found interesting one on Amazon and many Sydney people bought and gave good reviews during storms

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Newdora-Windproof-Lightweight-Refl…

    • That does look promising

    • I am not "Sydney people" and never going out during storms. Do I need it?

      • Everyone needs an umbrella

      • Only you yourself can answer that

  • Automatic , how?

    • at the press of a button, it just pops open and when it closes, the cloth collapses. you still have to push it back in tho

      • Stupidly I was wondering the same thing I even started contemplating the umbrella opens automatically in random places from moisture hah!

I guess this one is higher quality to similar brollys from $2 with buttons to open them.

  • Delivery $9 if dont want join 30 day thing

    • I suspect Kogan is going to get a lot more account signups for free trials..

Who is going to pay $99 a year for "free" shipping at Kogan.

At least we now know why he dropped out of Shipster (RIP end of July).

      • +2

Kogan got fined by ACCC for dodgy discounts

so he is trying to make up for the loss revenue with this $99 membership crap..

This is even more expensive than ebay plus
and ebay plus proven to be 99% useless waste of money

  • +1

The $14 in Costco is better not only price issue.
IT has automatic fold and unfold. It has anti wind vent. Very rigid….

    • +2

Folds automatically too? That's blowing my mind. What a world we live in.

    • link?

    • Did you buy one of these?

  • +2

    US doesn’t have it…
Xiaomi automatic Umbrella is a potential threat to national security and it boosts Chinese intelligence activity, rapes America’s economy, add it to the list.

    • ….Unless they agreed to the trade agreement

  • +1

When I saw the word "Kogan first", it reminds me Donald Trump.

  • -1

    B28?

  • Damn, I just bought this for $25…

    haha

  • +2

Thanks but I will wait for Apple umbrella

  • ill stick with my zebra skin umbrella which was half this price. Not really a bargain, more like a good price imho

    • +1

      Genuine?

      • lol no. Probably will not last as long as this one. But zebra skin looks nicer (also cheaper).

  • +2

Can this be used in Australia or US/EU region only?

  • doesn't seem to work with shipster? even not applying the code to keep it at the $25 minimum

  • +2

My $2.00 opshop unbrella works pretty well too, stops the rain and blocks the sun, lol
I mean really folks, like what is up with the world these days, does this have USB3 or Thunderbolt? :P

    • +1

pretty sure in this case having thunderbolt would be a bad feature…

      • also Lightning port

        • -1

and does it have a intel based chipset or AMD :P

  • +1

Not for me. I only drive stick. ;-)

  • -1

All my kogan recipts in the past had no GST so he was essentially not paying for our hospitals and schools on any of my past purchases. In fact if they had GST I could have claimed back on the business and it would have been cheaper to buy here in Australia (office equipment & mobile phones etc). So for me my $8 big w (automatic) umbrella is just fine, thanks for asking.

  • +1

Not that it's a bad deal, but shipping information reads: "Leaves warehouse in 1 to 2 weeks" meaning, "this item gets drop-shipped from China after we receive your payment".

    • Does that matter?

    • I brought mine at the last deal with free shipping came within 3 days

    • I was prepared for that when I ordered on Thursday (23rd May) but I've just received a notification today (27th May 8:30am) that it was delivered

    • +1

I ordered on 25th, but still waiting for it

  • +3

How's the battery life of the tracking device inside?

  • I should've bought one, my kmart one does not handle wind
