      Apple TV doesn't support any HDD/USB even with jailbreak. You cant compare two different device with different target audience.

      Even with Jailbreak and XBMC installed it can't play 720p MKV's

        The poor performance was the reason that I didn't replace my Astone AP300 with an Apple TV. I'd have to go "backwards" in capability… so instead I bought one of these iXtreamers instead.

        The main problem I have found with the iXtreamer is that it's large compared to most media players… mainly to accomodate the (inbuilt) iPad dock.

    My dad has the xtreamer pro and it's probably the best mkv streamer/player I've ever seen. I assume ixtreamer is the same but with added apple's functionalities?

      Correct. The iXtreamer share the same firmware base as the xtreamer pro, sidewinder but with the added apple based functionalities.

    Can it shows iPad or iPhone screen on TV directly by pluging them in the dock or even remotely by wireless? So we canplay iPhone games over TV screen.

      Using a dock would make the game REALLY hard to play… to play most games, you need to hold the phone in your hands to use the touchscreen.

      You can output from the iPhone to the TV using a cheap cable. Do a google for "iphone output tv"

        That means this device can only stream or play stored video but cannot play online live video from any of onlive video app on TV except for YouTube app?

    I have ordered this product for my Dad as a birthday present and am very excited and may order an extra one for myself if it is as good as it sounds. I was so keen to get it set up and have a play that I took today off work to pick the unit up from the post office and was going to spend today getting it ready for Dad with out the wife and kids annoying me. Imagine my shock and disappointment when I find out that instead of the iXtreamer I was sent a $5 cable (which I did not order). I hope HDcity resolves issues professionally and quickly.
