haha Mine was the Toshiba P750 02R from Clive peters. Basically got a laptop around Christmas for 965 which was 1st gen I7 4 gig ram, 330 m graphics and tv tuner (Toshiba), it had faults that toshiba couldn't fix (i took it back to the service center in southport 4 times) and eventually got the RMA notice. Clive peeter replaced it with that laptop. It had ticket price of 1400$, but they just gave it to me without paying extra (so 965$). When my dad enquired about purchasing it for 965$ they said this was below cost but they could do it for 1004$ (cost price). They basically said they were doing me a favour. Regardless I was happy :)
So if you want you could try your luck to get it for 1004$.. But doubt they will do it. Ive had it for over a month thou and its a solid laptop! So happy I have second gen I7, no heat issues at all. :)

Thats it. I couldn't find it on clive peeters but they are both owned by the same company. 1199. Might have luck negotiating more?

+1 voteJabba the Hutt on 07/06/2011 - 20:52 ¶I was on the verge of getting one of these in the recent Online Computer deal - that one was something like $999 but with a 3 year warranty. One review I read at the time found this model didn't provide much leeway in preventing overheating:

As far as the specs go this might be good for someone who tends toward CPU-intensive stuff, but for games the HP for around the same price from DSE is probably better - its i5 CPU is slower but its 6770M GPU is faster.

Mm. I followed this laptop a lot leading up to Aussie release. Great RRP, and an even better price here. But some things to note:
Screen is mediocre. and 1366x768 on a 15". Urgh.
Has LOTS of overheating issues, or at least the 14" version of this does. A guy got it and within about 10 mins of gaming it would throttle the CPU to 1.2Ghz. It seemed to have a very low heat threshold :S. The previous model (3720, 4720, 5720) had a much better dual fan design, handled heat far better and didn't have this issue at all.Source: http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/553306-acer-timelinex-3...
The Aspire Timeline X laptops from Acer are a very nice line, this generation might be a bit iffy though.
+3 votesnamely taking out Windows 7 which I already have?
At best that would only be a $20 discount. That's roughly how much it costs for the manufacturer to bundle a copy of Windows to each laptop.
Besides, the reseller can't possibly remove Windows from it, it's already preinstalled the day it left the Acer factory.

How much is limited? +1 from me thou! very good price
Edit*
Checked website, 11 - 20 it says. I think this is the best deal out there right now. 900$ for 2nd gen I7, 4 gb ram, dedicated graphics. Similar to my setup except mine has bluray and tv tuner and I paid 965 (and a toshiba). But def a good deal for anyone looking for one. :)
