  • G403 probably isn't as good a buy considering the G603 has wireless (logitech dongle) and bluetooth.

G703 is the updated version of the G603 (but lacks bluetooth; has li-on battery) and you can frequently get it from binglee ebay.

Excellent price on the G603 considering it is discontinued and you still want a low latency mouse with long battery life.

Not everyone likes the feel of a Wireless Mouse, I personally don't. Heavier, battery management and just doesn't feel as good in my experience.

        And lag

        • +2

Im not sure if you can perceive the lag with higher end wireless gaming mouses

        • -1

          1ms is unpercievable.

      • G403 Wired : 87.3 g (3.08 ounces) (Mouse only) / 135 g (4.76 ounces) (Mouse + cable) link

G703 Wireless : 107.2 g (3.78 ounces) (without cable, without weight, with weight door) link

I personally got sick of the drag on the cable so going full wireless is a godsend for me.

(came from a logitech g5, logitech g9x ~108g with grip, G600 133g, Ducky Secret 120g, somewhere in between I use a MX Master for a laptop)

        • Yeah, cable drag should be considered with mouse weight, I think the best would be a wireless mouse around the 85-90g range but the Logitech G Pro is too damn expensive. G703 is great for my needs.

          • @Jasonissm: Mouse cord was a huge nuisance for me and by then a friend had gotten a g900 so when my ducky secret starting double clicking, I went to the g703.

I play with low sensitivity (in first person shooters) over a large mousepad and was hanging the cord off the back of my monitor then found a better solution by using two long springs from 2 pickup tools (those with magnetic ends for nails/screws) as a mouse bungee.

I'm not too fussed about mouse weight (but lighter the better) - I recall SC2 pros using the G9x gripless - the G9x shape (with the grip) was my favourite for my claw grip.

      • The G Pro Wireless solves all those problems - it's 77g, feels amazing, and the battery lasts weeks between charges. Unfortunately it also costs over $200 so I guess you get what you pay for.

        • +2

Unfortunately Logitech really cheaped out on the Omron switches used in these high-end mice, inclusive of the G903 and G Pro. There's lots of stories online of people having to RMA their mice over and over again for double-clicking issues. It's not caused by 'static electricity' as some people seem to think and is really just crappy quality switches.

      • Not everyone likes the feel of a Wireless Mouse

Wired mouse has constantly changing resistance because of the cable.

        Heavier,

        G903 is 92g …

        battery management

        With a charging mouse pad.

and just doesn't feel as good in my experience.

Which has nothing to do with being wireless.

  • I'm on my third G403 for the same issue, the scroll wheel after a year starts jumping up and down while using it.

Logitech sent me a different wireless mouse last month after I contacted them about my third mouse having the issue.

    Great mouse otherwise.

Whats a good alternative to Logitech? Mine keep having faulty middle clicks, its a shame because they are really good mice otherwise. Im on my 3rd g602 with this issue, I had a g403 also which got the same issue. At the moment I've just switched middle click to one of the side buttons but its annoying.

      • I've been using the g402 for almost 2 years, before that I was using the g400 for maybe 5 years? Unfortunately the 400 is discontinued, but the g402 is similar enough, pretty well built too.

    • The G703 had the same issue and (iirc rubberbanding back up on a downward scroll for me) firmware update fixed the issue.

      • At least for the G403, that firmware update is a bandaid fix that just hides the problem.

If the issue gets worse, you'll notice that it will happen again, or you'll scroll and nothing will happen.

        • I bought mine BNIB but secondhand unfortunately ; checking online there's a https://youtu.be/38Bs8e9QQ1E vid showing a fix/workaround.

No mousewheel issue for me yet after doing the firmware update (and looks less troublesome than doing cable replacements on my old g5 and g9x , theese 2 mice only failed because of stress on the cord at the point of entry into the mouse body - also had issues with braided cord exposing the cord because I hadn't fully straightened/gotten rid of folds in the cord from its packed state).

    +1 for G603, best mouse I've owned

    • Me too, I'll never go back to wired mouse. Same thing can be said for my headset.

      • Which headset?

        • I've been using a Corsair VOID Wireless daily for over 2 years now. It's light enough to not notice, battery lasts a full day (16 hrs) and has comfy and durable fabric/foam.
The only wireless headset I had before this was a Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage and that was a pretty bad experience. It used to hurt my head/ears to wear for extended periods of time and it eventually broke/wore out after around 1 year of usage.

  • +1

I also have g403 wired i working fine for me if fits my hand good

  • Still using my G502 from Jan 2015 as my daily driver but the the rubber under my thumb has worn down to the plastic in one area. Not a big deal but hoping one day, the G502 lightspeed gets released at a reasonable price or the wired G502 drops under to $60, the price that I purchased it for over 4 years ago!

Any issues/ things to know about the G603. The left button on my deathadder is acting up again (love it otherwise though)

    • +1

Acting up as in double clicking unintentionally? Cos nines doing that and I'm thinking of buying a replacement too

      • My g403 does that. Have sent it off for warranty otherwise loved that mouse.

      • If you can do some soldering, there are guides online that show you how to replace the switches.

      • Yeah. The left click's feeling a bit weird again and sometimes doesn't recognise clicks, or double clicks instead. It happened before but much worse. I opened it up and blew into the switch which seemed to fix it then

  • +1

Love the g403 shape but after a year the left click started to intermittently fail. Shame

    • Me too. Sent back for warranty.

  • I have the G603 and it's delicate. The top cover covering the battery compartment easily comes off if you rattle it around even slightly

  • Thanks OP, was just looking for a new mouse! Bought the G603.

  • A bit off-topic but I've had a M705 that came with the batteries, they lasted 7 years which is amazing. This is with the usual 9-5 office work, but still amazes me when people complain about having to charge their mouse every day or two. I actually bought another one some time back as they are great.

  • Loving my g403. One year later still working so maybe im just lucky.

  • Have received my G603 to replace my broken replacement mouse why i wait on parts to ship from china to fix my Logitech G9x.

It is a little bit longer then i was expecting and you certainly wouldn't want to go the double battery route unless you love your mice on the really heavy side (personal preference). Tracking is a bit meh and does not play nicely with either of my 2 different gaming mouse pads so am running it on the bare desk. The piece of plastic foward of the scroll wheel really needs to be lowered into the body a bit, those sharp corners stick out every time you run your finger forward on the mouse buttons. Aside from that, very nice mouse with the buttons on the side pre configured for back/forward operations. Switch gives you plenty of preset dpi options. Materials feel quite nice in the hand and overall feels like a quality product.
