lots of 'falling apart' or 'breaking' reviews on amazon though :/

  • +2

Reviews in the app are pretty bad from 2016/17 eg Broke on first use.

The Amazon description is the same 5 points repeated 3 times, did OP really need to copy it exactly? [Description has been updated, thanks]

    Here’s a good bulk deal - 12 for $9.99 - for the youngsters:

Haha so funny to see these on here. I was living in the US and these went on sale at Amazon every other week, $3-4usd or so for 2.

They are ok, basic scissors. Nothing special and won't cut chicken bones or anything like that if that's what you're after. I've had much sharper scissors for sure.

Shhh it's an ozbargain ie oz-bargain not us-bargain no dissenting

Literally, the first 5 visible reviews are all 1 star and broken :( I actually logged onto my laptopjust to purchase. But, seems like no deal :|

I never take the "Top Reviews" on face value, for example the Lodge Skillet has 3 scathing reviews on the front page, yet it is known as one of the best skillets you can get.

These scissors have 83% 5 stars, and only 3% 1 star, out of 3300 reviews. I'm not saying to buy them, but I personally never take the top reviews as the total truth most of the time.

I think the best ones to read are the 3 star reviews, which give a good balance of a product's pros and cons.

      • Fair point and I would generally agree. It was only because each review complains of the exact same issue, otherwise, I would not really have paid any notice and had gone on to read more reviews for a more balanced conclusion.

  • The $1 supercheap auto scissors work alright… bought 5 when they had $5promo credit ;)

    • They look good but are pretty much out of stock. Even better value at 80 cents during the sale.

    • So do the 2 pack $1.50 Kmart ones

Don’t put these in the dishwasher. The screws will rust.

Don’t put these in the oven. The handles will melt.

      • +9

Don’t put these in Frankston. The blade will stain.

I am buying these scissors just because it’s from amazon us .

So am I, just so I can get free delivery from the US store before it ends…and I left the Mrs' pair outside and they got buried when we had groundworks the next day…

      • Just wanted to check…What do you mean free delivery from US store will end? I am waiting for prices on some Lodge stuff to go down. Is the free delivery going to end or just your free Prime trial?

        • +1

Free delivery from Amazon US via Amazon AU with no minimum spend was supposed to end at midnight last night so I'm assuming it'll now end 21/07/19 @ midnight USA time.

Amazing to get so many up votes given how bad the comments here are.

    • I love scissors From amazon instead of rubbish from eBay plus and maybe others too .

    Titanium blades with fluorine coating.

    • Thanks for the recommendation, gonna get a pair!

    • i have these but find they can be sometimes a bit annoying to cut thicker cardboard with. They are pretty nice to cut paper and other thinner items. Once its too 'thick' they really struggle

  • Well, Why not…
