    Just a heads-up that most of the Allen's lineup use carminic acid (carmine/cochineal/E120), which is made from scale insects, for their red colour.

        Hmm, you'd be surprised how many products in the supermarket contain this. Pick up any strawberry yogurt which claims to have no artificial colors (or 100% natural) and chances are red color in the yoghurt is Carmine.

          Thanks for posting.

          I will be avoiding Yoplait yoghurt as well and looking for this ingredient.

          I am pretty sure people would be surprised that yoghurt and lollies have dead animals in them.

        Pretty much any product with red food colouring in it is going to have that ingredient in it.

          No. There are numerous plant based and synthetic red colourants. Mentos, Darrel Lea strawberry and raspberry liquorice, roll-ups - some red examples without carmine.

        My dentist is annoyed, that I got rid of teeth n stuff eating this crap.
        Be wary of sugar addiction. I sure do love eating these though, I say as I contemplate another $4k to replace a tooth (implant)
