Just received an SMS from Optus saying mytabs can be ordered online.

Mod: Just got an email from Optus' Social Media Team, basically
- It is no longer in stock, and they do not offer it as a prepaid device anymore.
- It is only available as a post-paid product. See this Optus tablet plans.
- Please remove this deal as soon as possible.
Well I won't remove this post, but it's now marked as expired. Moreover, DO NOT call Optus to ask about this prepaid product (apparently their call centre is overloaded by OzBargainers).

I just called the 'Personal order enquiries' number and a very friendly guy helped with my order, he was apparently talking to the delivery guys directly and kept putting me on hold whilst he was talking to them.
Anyway he said all my paperwork is now filled in and my expected delivery is Thursday. However when I log into my account on the optus website, my order details are still not updated! The guy said to call them again if my order details are not updated by Thursday morning.
FYI - I ordered mine on Friday night and the automated message said delivery on 12/07.

I also called 'Personal order enquiries' and was told that the delay is due to the overwhelming numbers and they are now allocating stock according to the orders as they came in. Once allocated they'll deliver. She estimated it would take the full 5 business days of delivery for me. I ordered Friday night, so I guess this Friday.

I also called the personal order enquiries… was forwarded to the deliveries team.. the guy i spoke to didn't confirm or otherwise, just said they are processsing and "hope" to fill all orders…
He also mentioned the supplies are different for Pre-paid and Post-paid tabs.Honestly I don't think Optus know what they are doing, ordering, completing, delivering orders!!!
He said to ignore the confirmation email delivery date!!!
Maybe it might be better to order the samsung galaxy tab postpaid!
Bluudy telecoms!!! poor poor service.

Anything showing up on the optus tracking for you then?

I called the Personal Order enquiries. The guy wouldn't even take my order number to look it up. He just said they are "all in the same boat" and that "they all came through blank". All he could say was delivery by the end of the week and that I would receive a SMS saying it had shipped.
EDIT: Ordered Saturday morning. Nothing shows for me on their tracking site.

I just called optus today, got so disappointed with the poor service. they said they called my old phone to verify my visa but i updated long time for my details in my optus account. called them to solve but he ask me to buy another samsung galaxy instead! what the…i purchased and they said they had cancelled my item in warehouse and cut me immediately!
does anyone needed to be verify your visa card before deliver it? sigh..

same for me! they even give me a stupid offer saying that i should just buy samsung galaxy online!! what the….
they said its me who is unforunate! what the…if i was not willing to help i would give our visa number on it..sigh! have u went to complain? i just made a complaint to optus

They reckon delivery could be up two weeks. They said they don't have enough in stock to cover all the orders they (think) they have, and they confirmed a large number went through blank. They did say though, that they are receiving another shipment in about 10 days to cover everyone and that you should receive an SMS prior to delivery.So it looks like people will wither get them this week or in two weeks time ~

when i got the call on saturday to check all my details they told me
it will take 3 to 4 biz day to arrive (i never get an eta in mail)
and i ordered at 18.00 on friday and i was registered to the waiting list.this means by tomorrow i should get it, if nothing went wrong,
kinda dreamin at this point:)i dont really have many expectations,
will wait till next week,
and in case will cancel the order.not to sound too harsh,
but they should have give priority to who was registered in the waiting list(and got the sms),
then open to anyone else,
at least was goin to be less caotic.cheers.

i ordered last friday night too and only got a confirmation email. that is it.tacking number cannot be found in auspost website, which happen to many others.
i already order a case and screen protector for the tab from ebay, really dont want to have the order cancelled. otherwise, the case i ordered will become useless.

I also registered my interest when it 1st went out stock.
But I managed to order one using one of the links posted by an ozbargainer about 3 week ago.My order also went through a similar cycle. But I got my unit in 10 days. Ordered on a Monday and received it the next Thursday.
They were supposed to send an sms alert/email 24hrs before they delivered so that you will be at the registered address to receive it. None of that happened! It just turned up one day after i was told there will be a 2-3 week delay. Maybe the store person found stock lying around! I aint complaining.
Then I received this sms last week about these units being available again. There was no way to identify whether you had your interests registered or not.
I guess you cant expect that unless you paid for it or atleast put a deposit towards it so that you get priority.Lets hope they clear this mess. Im sure they can order another batch to meet the new orders.

I rang to check my orders on Monday and was told due to a system error that many orders had to be re-keyed manually. Then on Tuesday I received a SMS stating the changes had been made and shipment on my device will occur on 13/07/11. But there was no shipping/order number provided.
Now on the phone again to have this confirmed and get a shipping number. Am on hold because consultant can't find any orders under my account. Dispatch are saying they have been sent but the CSR can't find any records. The CSR now has to speak to his supervisor to follow up. Not sounding promising.


just got an sms and email from Optus,
they both says my order is delayed, and ill be updated, who knows when…best part is that in the email they refer to a product i didnt buy,
anyone know what a "PPOMB Micro $30 SPac" is?
for sure is not the mytab i purchased.at this point looks like they totally mess up the orders.
+5 votes- I ordered online on Saturday afternoon 9th July - via my existing Optus account.
- I received confirmation email pretty much straight away predicting delivery on Tues 12th
(thanks to this thread I expected nothing then however) - Optus AusPost tracking consistently shows tracking number as not existing (i.e. not yet in AusPost system)
- Order shows when I log into my Optus account. It has the same order reference number there as the email - however 'order status' field is empty.
- My web-bank credit card account shows purchase amount withheld on 9th - but still awaiting processing.
So I just rang Optus - sales CSR (off-shore??) found order easily and then put me through to "delivery" person (on-shore??) who informed me that this time they had an initial lot of 500 to sell but when ordering system activated it allowed 1000 to be sold.
He seemed to be indicating that they intend to fulfill all of these orders and that those waiting should receive an SMS by the end of this week with an update on the status of their order. No time-frame for delivery - as the sms will provide more info on that!
I had left a landline number in my contact details when I placed the order - so he adjusted/added my mobile number to the order so that they would have somewhere where they can send the sms.

-some credit card and Id had to be verified
-most of the order came through blank
-system allowed 1000 but availability was 500
-they didn't expect the massive order number along the weekend
*-link was leaked onto ozbargain and optus was assaulted by the horde

i even dunno if waste time calling them to hear a different one.

Well it is better then what I just have, I got charge for a web hosting company that I not using it since last year and they charging me for 3 times.
Anyway be patient this is same as on the first round and I am also in this 2nd round too(very satisfied with the device so buy another one).
+2 votesOK! this is what happening, a link was sent to a number of pre-registered people for a chance to grab the mytab for $99, the link was then leaked onto ozbargain (the AUSSIE chick i spoke mentioned ozbargain lol) therefore optus got wayyyyyyyyy too many orders for the mytab! but good news! she did say that more stock has been secured and they will be dispatched by end of week! dont mind waiting, happy i got one. +1 for ozbargainers! messin sh*t up!

Just called the 'Personal Order Enquiries' number and got put through a nice lady in the delivery department. She told me my order has physically been assigned and is somewhere between Optus and MessengerPost. She apologised for the delay and said I should get it tomorrow or Monday at the latest, so we'll see how it goes!

i just got another mail from optus advising me of further delay
so i called optus,
they told me my order should be delivered soon,
but probably not this week,
and not sure when at all.as it looks like all my data in the system are correct,
ordered on friday at 18, id verification from optus on saturday morning
and syd metro addressat least he told me that definitely ill get one.
probably it's just my order unlucky,
or the shipping is not depending on the order date.will just wait to see what happen next.

I spoke to online sales service just then, he told me that orders have been coming through blank, but apparently they have the details somewhere (?) and are rekeying all orders which will be delayed to later this week.
