Topbuy also have it for about the same price, but is banned here. Expect to pay $600-700 generally. Of course not as good as the Galaxy deal, but great deal with the Mango update coming soon, which will give WP7 a big boost in sales.

  •

I suppose these, like the galaxy, are grey imports as well?

you could've posted the deal you found

And also, I'm not sure they give an Australian warranty.

hmm, htc stuff goes obsolete fast, just like canon cameras.

    •

This is because they bring out so many models. Unlike the iPhone which is one per year.

plus they like to use words rather than model numbers so its hard to figure out what generation a phone is just by knowing its name. (not in this case though)

Good hardware spec for the price. Any way to load Android on this thing?

  •

I like the physical phone but I don't trust Windows OS on a smartphone.

  •

i have this phone for over 12 months

    its great but lacks features

hopefully mango update will fix all this

For all those that thought this was a good deal to get and take onto Telstra, Telstra handsets are cheaper now.

While the website says they're still $31 monthly handset repayments on the $49 plan, it's actually a fully free handset now, as I found out when I called them tonight. Probably a good deal if you didn't want Telstra though :)

Disclaimer: I have been a Windows CE/ Windows Mobile user for more than a decade and I am a qualified Windows Mobile developer.

Nevertheless, reminiscence aside, I have to say, Android and iOS provide much better user experience.

I think Windows Mobile will be extinct in a few years.

I bought a HTC desire HD a week ago, similar specs as HD7.
DHD is beyond my expectations in every single way.

HD7 would be a good buy when it can dual boot android like HD2.
