  • I don’t have this offer on my Amex 😔

  • Manual rego links are in the post

  • What's good to buy from Microsoft these days anyway?

  • Does anyone think this can be used for gift cards? I have to purchase one of those expensive surface pro machines.

I applied the microsoft deal on both primary and secondary cards. I'm thinking I could use both cards to buy just gift vouchers (which seem to be redeemable for hardware)

Yes you can buy 5 $100 gift cards to get $100 back on each card. There are a few notes:
      - You won't get cashback when buying gift cards or buying with account balance (so make sure the cashback is not worth it).
      - You can only redeem $1000 to your MS account balance each day.
      - Cannot buy in physical MS store.

      • Thanks! Just confirmed the 5x100$ gift vouchers triggered the 'You’ve just used your Microsoft Amex Offer'

I'm waiting now for the vouchers to become active so that I can apply the vouchers to the account.

Having done this… I'll open clean browser and go through shopback to complete the laptop purchase using the second amex card in combination with the $500 gift cards.
Hopefully this results in the shopback 10% credit applying as well.

        • From my understanding you won't get the 10% Surface cashback if you pay even $1 with gift card.

          • @rookie317: Thanks, Microsoft ended up cancelling gift card purchase. So I put a single purchase on the amex for the laptop and went in via shopback; shopback shows the 10% pending payment which is great and works out a better deal.

            • @mshanann: Hi @mshannon

I only see 1.5% cashback from shopback. Could you please share the link? Is it already expired?

              Thanks
              sm

  • If anyone wants to use my offer let me know as I haven't registered it

    • Can you help me with this? I have sent a PM.

  • Is the Microsoft one worth it, any specials laptop etc

    • Yes they are running specials on Surface Laptop 3 and Surface Pro 7

  • Can I split the payment, so I can use multiple cards for a surface laptop?

    • You may be able to do this at MS physical store (downtown Sydney), not the online one. I remember reading it here someone was able to do so there.

    • Yes, did this today across 2 Amex cards at Microsoft Sydney

    • If buying a surface laptop, you may be better going via shopback and using the amex card for payment;

I dropped close to 2k today on a laptop required by the kid's school. I clicked in via shopack and I can already see a pending payment of $179 in shopback now; Combine with the Amex $100 off 500, and that combines to close to $280 back off the crazy expensive laptop.

  • I don’t have access to this offer too… does anyone know if it has been saved to the max amount of cards?
