+1 votehellrazorone on 24/08/2011 - 14:48 ¶F750/02M comes with a 1366 x 768 resolution screen.
When will hardware manufacturers start putting decent screens in their laptops?
No laptop screen should be 1366 unless it's a netbook.
+1 voteCarbonTwelve on 24/08/2011 - 15:36 ¶I have no problem with 1366x768 in a 15.6" laptop. Perfect dot pitch for general use IMO.
GreatWhiteHunter on 24/08/2011 - 15:03 ¶Good to see someone from Harvey Norman is at least on here looking at deals.

+1 voteFor this price range, it might be a bit difficult to expect 1080p like display.
However, it is a valid point I think. A quad core i7 with hardware which can handle 1080p blu-ray decoding with ease… and everything pretty much just right, why put a rather average screen?Apple's 15" laptops will have a better display (but they cost more). However, had this laptop got the 1080p display… a lot more people will be giving it a +ve vote. It is interesting to include a blu-ray ROM but a screen that is not capable of 1080p.
+3 votesI think the promotion team at HN always forget to add a few words. It's supposed to be 'We get PRICE SMASHED by every other retailer'.
But then again, think about why they never have decent prices. HN have huge overheads, pay quite decent wages and commissions to their salesmen, they put a lot of cash into the promotional material and other things. HN just target a different group, mainly the technologically uneducated or rich group, but they still manage to make sales by doing so. Tell me how good MSYs website, store, satisfaction guarantee and customer service is, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that's why their prices are set so low.
-1 voteCarbonTwelve on 24/08/2011 - 15:34 ¶Before you go off doing a spiel how about actually commenting on the prices above? Eg, that Toshiba is actually very good value. The closest laptop from MSY in price & value is a Lenovo, but that doesn't have BluRay and relies on $150 cashback. Even from staticice the closest in price for that model is still $200 more.

+1 voteGreatWhiteHunter on 24/08/2011 - 16:50 ¶Out of interest
Do Harvey Norman salesmen get paid a commission for sales each calendar month?
My experience has been they are more prepared to offer you a deal on say the 2nd last day of each month than they are on the first 20 days of a month….
spodosaurus on 24/08/2011 - 19:49 ¶Watch out for the Qosmios. They have been getting a reputation for their graphics dying. I just dealt with a Toshiba warranty repair on one and it took a MONTH! I'm not surprised they're trying to get rid of stock.
Crowdedthehouse on 26/08/2011 - 01:24 ¶The Acer 15.6" 5750G-2414G75 on sale for $536, according to the Acer Cashback claim site (http://www.shopacer.com.au/ecprod/ACA/Projects/CashBack/Load...)is eligible for $99 cashback until 31st October 2011. If I am not mistaken, it is the 8th computer listed from the cashback site but I am unsure if the "Bnkk" suffix makes a difference or what variation it makes to the model.
harvey Norman rep, can you clarify if the laptop you are selling is part number/SKU LX.RAZ02.121?

why do reps think small discounts are always "PRICE SMASHES!!!@!"
come back when you have more HP touch pads… that was a price smash!
